Ch 2:166. Then would those who are followed clear themselves of those whofollow (them) : They would see the penalty, and all relations between themwould be cut off.167. And those who followed would say: "If only We had one more chance,We would clear ourselves of them, as they have cleared themselves of us." Thus will Allah show them (The fruits of) their deeds as (nothing but) regrets.Nor will there be a way for them out of the Fire.)

87*****(87. Allah. There is no god but He: of a surety He will gather you

together against the Day of Judgment, about which there is no doubt. Andwhose word can be truer than Allah.s?)

137. Those who believe, then reject faith, then believe (again) and (again)reject faith, and go on increasing in unbelief,- Allah will not forgive them norguide them nor guide them on the way.)

Ch 7:64. But they rejected him, and We delivered him, and those with him, in theArk: but We overwhelmed in the flood those who rejected Our signs. They

were indeed a blind people!)

Ch 8:###51-55*****(51. "Because of (the deeds) which your (own) hands sentforth; for Allah is never unjust to His servants:52. "(Deeds) after the manner of the people of Pharaoh and of those beforethem: They rejected the Signs of Allah, and Allah punished them for



their crimes: for Allah is Strong, and Strict in punishment:

54. (Deeds) after the manner of the people of Pharaoh and those beforethem": They treated as false the Signs of their Lord: so We destroyed themfor their crimes, and We drowned the people of Pharaoh: for they were all

oppressors and wrong- doers.

Ch 10:4. To Him will be your return- of all of you. The promise of Allah is true andsure. It is He Who beginneth the process of creation, and repeateth it, thatHe may reward with justice those who believe and work righteousness; butthose who reject Him will have draughts of boiling fluids, and a penaltygrievous, because they did reject Him.

7. Those who rest not their hope on their meeting with Us, but are pleased

and satisfied with the life of the present, and those who heed not Our Signs,-

8. Their abode is the Fire, because of the (evil) they earned.

9. Those who believe, and work righteousness,- their Lord will guide thembecause of their faith: beneath them will flow rivers in gardens of bliss.

10. (This will be) their cry therein: "Glory to Thee, O Allah." And "Peace" willbe their greeting therein! and the close of their cry will be: "Praise be toAllah, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the worlds!"

42-4*****(42. Among them are some who (pretend to) listen to thee: Butcanst thou make the deaf to hear,- even though they are withoutunderstanding?43. And among them are some who look at thee: but canst thou guide theblind,- even though they will not see?

44. Verily Allah will not deal unjustly with man in aught: It is man thatwrongs his own soul.)

###68-70*****(68. They say: "(Allah) hath begotten a son!" - Glory be toHim! He is self- sufficient! His are all things in the heavens and on earth! No

warrant have ye for this! say ye about Allah what ye know not?69. Say: "Those who invent a lie against Allah will never prosper."

70. A little enjoyment in this world!- and then, to Us will be their return, thenshall We make them taste the severest penalty for their blasphemies.)

73-4*****(73. They rejected Him, but We delivered him, and those with him,in the Ark, and We made them inherit (the earth), while We overwhelmedin the flood those who rejected Our Signs. Then see what was the



end of those who were warned (but heeded not)!74. Then after him We sent (many) apostles to their peoples: they broughtthem Clear Signs, but they would not believe what they had alreadyrejected beforehand. Thus do We seal the hearts of thetransgressors.)

95-98*****(95. Nor be of those who reject the signs of Allah, or thoushalt be of those who perish.96. Those against whom the word of thy Lord hath been verifiedwould not believe-

97. Even if every Sign was brought unto them,- until they see (forthemselves) the penalty grievous.

98. Why was there not a single township (among those We warned),which believed,- so its faith should have profited it,- except thepeople of Jonah? When they believed, We removed from them thepenalty of ignominy in the life of the present, and permitted them toenjoy (their life) for a while.)

Ch 11:###18-24*****(18. Who doth more wrong than those who invent a lieagainst Allah. They will be turned back to the presence of their Lord, and thewitnesses will say, "These are the ones who lied against their Lord! Behold!the Curse of Allah is on those who do wrong!-19. "Those who would hinder (men) from the path of Allah and would seek init something crooked: these were they who denied the Hereafter!"

20. They will in no way frustrate (His design) on earth, nor have theyprotectors besides Allah. Their penalty will be doubled! They lost thepower to hear, and they did not see!

21. They are the ones who have lost their own souls: and the (fancies) theyinvented have left them in the lurch!

22. Without a doubt, these are the very ones who will lose most in theHereafter!

23. But those who believe and work righteousness, and humble themselvesbefore their Lord,- They will be companions of the gardens, to dwell thereinfor aye!

24. These two kinds (of men) may be compared to the blind anddeaf, and those who can see and hear well. Are they equal whencompared? Will ye not then take heed?)



###116-19*****(116. Why were there not, among the generations beforeyou, persons possessed of balanced good sense, prohibiting (men)from mischief in the earth - except a few among them whom Wesaved (from harm)? But the wrong-doers pursued the enjoyment of the good things of life which were given them, and persisted in sin.

117. Nor would thy Lord be the One to destroy communities for a singlewrong- doing, if its members were likely to mend.

118. If thy Lord had so willed, He could have made mankind one people: butthey will not cease to dispute.

119. Except those on whom thy Lord hath bestowed His Mercy: and for thisdid He create them: and the Word of thy Lord shall be fulfilled: "I will fill Hellwith jinns and men all together.")

Ch 13:

16-7*****(16. Say: "Who is the Lord and Sustainer of the heavens and theearth?" Say: "(It is) Allah." Say: "Do ye then take (for worship) protectorsother than Him, such as have no power either for good or for harm tothemselves?" Say: "Are the blind equal with those who see? Or thedepths of darkness equal with light?" Or do they assign to Allah partnerswho have created (anything) as He has created, so that the creation seemedto them similar? Say: "(Allah) is the Creator of all things: He is the One, theSupreme and Irresistible."17. He sends down water from the skies, and the channels flow, eachaccording to its measure: But the torrent bears away to foam that mounts upto the surface. Even so, from that (ore) which they heat in the fire, to makeornaments or utensils therewith, there is a scum likewise. Thus doth Allah(by parables) show forth Truth and Vanity. For the scum disappears like frothcast out; while that which is for the good of mankind remains on the earth. Thus doth Allah set forth parables.)

Ch 15:73-79*****(73. But the (mighty) Blast overtook them before morning,74. And We turned (the cities) upside down, and rained down on them

brimstones hard as baked clay.

75. Behold! in this are Signs for those who by tokens do understand.

76. And the (cities were) right on the high-road.

77. Behold! in this is a sign for those who believed.



78. And the Companions of the Wood were also wrong-doers;

79. So We exacted retribution from them. They were both on an openhighway, plain to see.)

###85*****(85. We created not the heavens, the earth, and all betweenthem, but for just ends. And the Hour is surely coming (when this will bemanifest). So overlook (any human faults) with gracious forgiveness.)

Ch 17:16*****(16. When We decide to destroy a population, We (first) send adefinite order to those among them who are given the good things of this lifeand yet transgress; so that the word is proved true against them: then (it is)We destroy them utterly.)##45-6*****(45. When thou dost recite the Qur'an, We put, between theeand those who believe not in the Hereafter, a veil invisible:

46. And We put coverings over their hearts (and minds) lest theyshould understand the Qur'an, and deafness into their ears: whenthou dost commemorate thy Lord and Him alone in the Qur'an, they turn ontheir backs, fleeing (from the Truth).)

72*****(72. But those who were blind in this world, will be blind in thehereafter, and most astray from the Path.)

Ch 18:2. (He hath made it) Straight (and Clear) in order that He may warn (thegodless) of a terrible Punishment from Him, and that He may give Glad Tidings to the Believers who work righteous deeds, that they shall have agoodly Reward,)

57*****(57. And who doth more wrong than one who is reminded of the Signs of his Lord, but turns away from them, forgetting the(deeds) which his hands have sent forth? Verily We have set veilsover their hearts lest they should understand this, and over theirears, deafness, if thou callest them to guidance, even then will theynever accept guidance.)55. And what is there to keep back men from believing, now that Guidancehas come to them, nor from praying for forgiveness from their Lord, but that(they ask that) the ways of the ancients be repeated with them, or the Wrathbe brought to them face to face?

56. We only send the apostles to give Glad Tidings and to give warnings: Butthe unbelievers dispute with vain argument, in order therewith to weakenthe truth, and they treat My Signs as a jest, as also the fact that they arewarned!

57. And who doth more wrong than one who is reminded of the Signs of his



Lord, but turns away from them, forgetting the (deeds) which his hands havesent forth? Verily We have set veils over their hearts lest they shouldunderstand this, and over their ears, deafness, if thou callest them toguidance, even then will they never accept guidance.

58. But your Lord is Most forgiving, full of Mercy. If He were to call them (atonce) to account for what they have earned, then surely He would havehastened their punishment, but they have their appointed time, beyondwhich they will find no refuge.

59. Such were the populations we destroyed when they committediniquities; but we fixed an appointed time for their destruction.)

Ch 19:###71*****(71. Not one of you but will pass over it: this is, with thy Lord, aDecree which must be accomplished.)73-5*****(73. When Our Clear Signs are rehearsed to them, the Unbelieverssay to those who believe, "Which of the two sides is best in point of position?Which makes the best show in council?"74. But how many (countless) generations before them have we destroyed,who were even better in equipment and in glitter to the eye?

75. Say: "If any men go astray, ((Allah)) Most Gracious extends (the rope) tothem, until, when they see the warning of Allah (being fulfilled) - either inpunishment or in (the approach of) the Hour,- they will at length realise whois worst in position, and (who) weakest in forces!)

Ch 20:###124-9*****(124. "But whosoever turns away from My Message,verily for him is a life narrowed down, and We shall raise him upblind on the Day of Judgment."125. He will say: "O my Lord! why hast Thou raised me up blind, while I hadsight (before)?"

126. ((Allah)) will say: "Thus didst Thou, when Our Signs came unto thee,disregard them: so wilt thou, this day, be disregarded."

127. And thus do We recompense him who transgresses beyond bounds andbelieves not in the Signs of his Lord: and the Penalty of the Hereafter is farmore grievous and more enduring.

128. Is it not a warning to such men (to call to mind) how many generationsbefore them We destroyed, in whose haunts they (now) move? Verily, in thisare Signs for men endued with understanding.



129. Had it not been for a Word that went forth before from thy Lord, (theirpunishment) must necessarily have come; but there is a Term appointed (forrespite).)

Ch 21:45-6*****(45. Say, "I do but warn you according to revelation": But the deaf will not hear the call, (even) when they are warned!46. If but a breath of the Wrath of thy Lord do touch them, they will thensay, "Woe to us! we did wrong indeed!")

Ch 22:31*****(31. Being true in faith to Allah, and never assigning partnersto Him: if anyone assigns partners to Allah, is as if he had fallenfrom heaven and been snatched up by birds, or the wind had

swooped (like a bird on its prey) and thrown him into a far- distantplace.)71-6*****(71. Yet they worship, besides Allah, things for which noauthority has been sent down to them, and of which they have(really) no knowledge: for those that do wrong there is no helper.72. When Our Clear Signs are rehearsed to them, thou wilt notice a denial onthe faces of the Unbelievers! they nearly attack with violence those whorehearse Our Signs to them. Say, "Shall I tell you of something (far) worsethan these Signs? It is the Fire (of Hell)! Allah has promised it to theUnbelievers! and evil is that destination!"

Ch 23:117*****(117. If anyone invokes, besides Allah, Any other god, he hasno authority therefor; and his reckoning will be only with his Lord!and verily the Unbelievers will fail to win through!)

Ch 24:###40*****(40. Or (the Unbelievers' state) is like the depths of darkness in a vast deep ocean, overwhelmed with billow topped bybillow, topped by (dark) clouds: depths of darkness, one above

another: if a man stretches out his hands, he can hardly see it! forany to whom Allah giveth not light, there is no light!)

Ch 25:###4-9*****(4. But the misbelievers say: "Naught is this but a lie which hehas forged, and others have helped him at it." In truth it is they who have putforward an iniquity and a falsehood.



5. And they say: "Tales of the ancients, which he has caused to be written:and they are dictated before him morning and evening."

8. "Or (Why) has not a treasure been bestowed on him, or why has he (not) agarden for enjoyment?" The wicked say: "Ye follow none other than a man

bewitched."

###17-20*****(17. The day He will gather them together as well as thosewhom they worship besides Allah, He will ask: "Was it ye who let these Myservants astray, or did they stray from the Path themselves?"18. They will say: "Glory to Thee! not meet was it for us that weshould take for protectors others besides Thee: But Thou didstbestow, on them and their fathers, good things (in life), until theyforgot the Message: for they were a people (worthless and) lost."

19. ((Allah) will say): "Now have they proved you liars in what ye say: so yecannot avert (your penalty) nor (get) help." And whoever among you doeswrong, him shall We cause to taste of a grievous Penalty.

20. And the apostles whom We sent before thee were all (men) who ate foodand walked through the streets: We have made some of you as a trial forothers: will ye have patience? for Allah is One Who sees (all things).)

Ch 26:137. "This is no other than a customary device of the ancients,138. "And we are not the ones to receive Pains and Penalties!"

167-74*****(167. They said: "If thou desist not, O Lut! thou wilt assuredly becast out!"

185. They said: "Thou art only one of those bewitched!

186. "Thou art no more than a mortal like us, and indeed we think thou art aliar!

187. "Now cause a piece of the sky to fall on us, if thou art truthful!"

200. Thus have We caused it to enter the hearts of the sinners.

201. They will not believe in it until they see the grievous Penalty;

202. But the (Penalty) will come to them of a sudden, while they perceive itnot;

203. Then they will say: "Shall we be respited?"208. Never did We destroy apopulation, but had its warners -

209. By way of reminder; and We never are unjust.213. So call not on any



other god with Allah, or thou wilt be among those under thePenalty.

Ch 27:13. But when Our Signs came to them, that should have opened their eyes,they said: "This is sorcery manifest!"

14. And they rejected those Signs in iniquity and arrogance, thoughtheir souls were convinced thereof : so see what was the end of thosewho acted corruptly!)

47. They said: "Ill omen do we augur from thee and those that arewith thee". He said: "Your ill omen is with Allah. yea, ye are a peopleunder trial."

55. Would ye really approach men in your lusts rather than women? Nay, yeare a people (grossly) ignorant!

56. But his people gave no other answer but this: they said, "Drive out thefollowers of Lut from your city: these are indeed men who want to beclean and pure!"

57. But We saved him and his family, except his wife; her We destined to beof those who lagged behind.

58. And We rained down on them a shower (of brimstone): and evil was the

shower on those who were admonished (but heeded not)!)

68. "It is true we were promised this,- we and our fathers before (us): theseare nothing but tales of the ancients."

69. Say: "Go ye through the earth and see what has been the end of thoseguilty (of sin)."

70. But grieve not over them, nor distress thyself because of their plots.

71. They also say: "When will this promise (come to pass)? (Say) if ye aretruthful."

72. Say: "It may be that some of the events which ye wish to hasten on maybe (close) in your pursuit!"

73. But verily thy Lord is full of grace to mankind: Yet most of them areungrateful.

###83-93*****(83. One day We shall gather together from every



people a troop of those who reject our Signs, and they shall be keptin ranks,-84. Until, when they come (before the Judgment-seat), ((Allah)) will say: "Didye reject My Signs, though ye comprehended them not inknowledge, or what was it ye did?"

85. And the Word will be fulfilled against them, because of theirwrong-doing, and they will be unable to speak (in plea).

90. And if any do evil, their faces will be thrown headlong into the Fire: "Doye receive a reward other than that which ye have earned by your deeds?"

Ch 28:###41-2*****(41. And we made them (but) leaders inviting to the Fire; and on the Day of Judgment no help shall they find.

42. in this world We made a curse to follow them and on the Day of Judgment they will be among the loathed (and despised).)

74-5*****(74. The Day that He will call on them, He will say: "Whereare my 'partners'? whom ye imagined (to be such)?"75. And from each people shall We draw a witness, and We shallsay: "Produce your Proof": then shall they know that the Truth is inAllah (alone), and the (lies) which they invented will leave them inlurch.)

80*****(80. But those who had been granted (true) knowledge said: "Alas foryou! The reward of Allah (in the Hereafter) is best for those who believe andwork righteousness: but this none shall attain, save those who steadfastlypersevere (in good).")83-8*****(83. That Home of the Hereafter We shall give to those who intendnot high- handedness or mischief on earth: and the end is (best) for therighteous.84. If any does good, the reward to him is better than his deed; but if anydoes evil, the doers of evil are only punished (to the extent) of their deeds.

85. Verily He Who ordained the Qur'an for thee, will bring thee back to the

Place of Return. Say: "My Lord knows best who it is that brings trueguidance, and who is in manifest error."

86. And thou hadst not expected that the Book would be sent to thee exceptas a Mercy from thy Lord: Therefore lend not thou support in any way tothose who reject ((Allah)'s Message).

87. And let nothing keep thee back from the Signs of Allah after they have



been revealed to thee: and invite (men) to thy Lord, and be not of thecompany of those who join gods with Allah.

88. And call not, besides Allah, on another god. There is no god butHe. Everything (that exists) will perish except His own Face. To Him

belongs the Command, and to Him will ye (all) be brought back.)

Ch 30:58-60*****(58. verily We have propounded for men, in this Qur'an every kind of Parable:But if thou bring to them any Sign, the Unbelievers are sure to say, "Ye donothing but talk vanities."

59. Thus does Allah seal up the hearts of those who understand not.

60. So patiently persevere: for verily the promise of Allah is true:

nor let those shake thy firmness, who have (themselves) nocertainty of faith.)

Ch 34:16. But they turned away (from Allah., and We sent against them the Flood(released) from the dams, and We converted their two garden (rows) into"gardens" producing bitter fruit, and tamarisks, and some few (stunted) Lote-trees.17. That was the Requital We gave them because they ungratefully rejectedFaith: and never do We give (such) requital except to such as are ungrateful

rejecters.

18. Between them and the Cities on which We had poured our blessings, Wehad placed Cities in prominent positions, and between them We hadappointed stages of journey in due proportion: "Travel therein, secure, bynight and by day."

19. But they said: "Our Lord! Place longer distances between our journey-stages": but they wronged themselves (therein). At length We made them asa tale (that is told), and We dispersed them all in scattered fragments. Verilyin this are Signs for every (soul that is) patiently constant and grateful.

Ch 36:48. Further, they say, "When will this promise (come to pass), if what ye sayis true?"

49. They will not (have to) wait for aught but a single Blast: it will seize themwhile they are yet disputing among themselves!



50. No (chance) will they then have, by will, to dispose (of their affairs), norto return to their own people!)

Ch 37:###149-59*****(149. Now ask them their opinion: Is it that thy Lord has(only) daughters, and they have sons?-150. Or that We created the angels female, and they are witnesses(thereto)?

151. Is it not that they say, from their own invention,

152. "(Allah) has begotten children"? but they are liars!

153. Did He (then) choose daughters rather than sons?

154. What is the matter with you? How judge ye?

155. Will ye not then receive admonition?

156. Or have ye an authority manifest?

157. Then bring ye your Book (of authority) if ye be truthful!

158. And they have invented a blood-relationship between Him and the Jinns: but the Jinns know (quite well) that they have indeed to appear (beforehis Judgment- Seat)!

159. Glory to Allah. (He is free) from the things they ascribe (to Him)!)

Ch 39:###7-9*****(7. If ye reject ((Allah)), Truly Allah hath no need of you; but Heliketh not ingratitude from His servants: if ye are grateful, He is pleased withyou. No bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another. In the end, toyour Lord is your Return, when He will tell you the truth of all that ye did (inthis life). for He knoweth well all that is in (men's) hearts.8. When some trouble toucheth man, he crieth unto his Lord, turning to Himin repentance: but when He bestoweth a favour upon him as from Himself,(man) doth forget what he cried and prayed for before, and he doth set uprivals unto Allah, thus misleading others from Allah.s Path. Say, "Enjoy thyblasphemy for a little while: verily thou art (one) of the Companions of theFire!"

9. Is one who worships devoutly during the hour of the night prostratinghimself or standing (in adoration), who takes heed of the Hereafter, and whoplaces his hope in the Mercy of his Lord - (like one who does not)? Say: "Are



those equal, those who know and those who do not know? It is those who areendued with understanding that receive admonition.)

22*****(22. Is one whose heart Allah has opened to Islam, so that he has received

Enlightenment from Allah, (no better than one hard-hearted)? Woe to thosewhose hearts are hardened against celebrating the praises of Allah. they aremanifestly wandering (in error)!)

###49*****(trials.49. Now, when trouble touches man, he cries to Us: But when We bestow afavour upon him as from Ourselves, he says, "This has been given to mebecause of a certain knowledge (I have)!" Nay, but this is but a trial, butmost of them understand not!)

59*****(59. "(The reply will be:) 'Nay, but there came to thee my Signs, andthou didst reject them: thou wast Haughty, and became one of those whoreject faith!'")

###65*****(65. But it has already been revealed to thee,- as it was to those before thee,-"If thou wert to join (gods with Allah., truly fruitless will be thy work (in life),and thou wilt surely be in the ranks of those who lose (all spiritual good)".)

###67*****(67. No just estimate have they made of Allah, such as is due toHim: On the Day of Judgment the whole of the earth will be but His handful,and the heavens will be rolled up in His right hand: Glory to Him! High is Heabove the Partners they attribute to Him!)

Ch 40:

##58*****(58. Not equal are the blind and those who (clearly) see: Nor are (equal)those who believe and work deeds of righteousness, and those who do evil.Little do ye learn by admonition!)

Ch 41:41. Those who reject the Message when it comes to them (are not hiddenfrom Us). And indeed it is a Book of exalted power.)

Ch 42:



7. Thus have We sent by inspiration to thee an Arabic Qur'an: that thoumayest warn the Mother of Cities and all around her,- and warn (them) of theDay of Assembly, of which there is no doubt: (when) some will be in theGarden, and some in the Blazing Fire.

Ch 43:30-2*****(30. But when the Truth came to them, they said: "This issorcery, and we do reject it."31. Also, they say: "Why is not this Qur'an sent down to some leading man ineither of the two (chief) cities?"

32. Is it they who would portion out the Mercy of thy Lord? It is WeWho portion out between them their livelihood in the life of thisworld: and We raise some of them above others in ranks, so that some may

command work from others. But the Mercy of thy Lord is better than the(wealth) which they amass.)

46-8*****(46. We did send Moses aforetime, with Our Signs, to Pharaoh andhis Chiefs: He said, "I am an apostle of the Lord of the Worlds."47. But when he came to them with Our Signs, behold they ridiculedthem.

48. We showed them Sign after Sign, each greater than its fellow, and Weseized them with Punishment, in order that they might turn (to Us).)

Ch 45:7. Woe to each sinful dealer in Falsehoods:

8. He hears the Signs of Allah rehearsed to him, yet is obstinate and lofty, asif he had not heard them: then announce to him a Penalty Grievous!

9. And when he learns something of Our Signs, he takes them in jest: forsuch there will be a humiliating Penalty.

10. In front of them is Hell: and of no profit to them is anything they may

have earned, nor any protectors they may have taken to themselves besidesAllah. for them is a tremendous Penalty.)

21*****(21. What! Do those who seek after evil ways think that We shall hold themequal with those who believe and do righteous deeds,- that equal will betheir life and their death? Ill is the judgment that they make.)



###31-5*****(31. But as to those who rejected Allah, (to them will be said): "Were not OurSigns rehearsed to you? But ye were arrogant, and were a people given tosin!

32. "And when it was said that the promise of Allah was true, and that theHour- there was no doubt about its (coming), ye used to say, 'We know notwhat is the hour: we only think it is an idea, and we have no firmassurance.'"

33. Then will appear to them the evil (fruits) of what they did, and they willbe completely encircled by that which they used to mock at!

34. It will also be said: "This Day We will forget you as ye forgot the meetingof this Day of yours! and your abode is the Fire, and no helpers have ye!

35. "This, because ye used to take the Signs of Allah in jest, and the

life of the world deceived you:" (From) that Day, therefore, they shall notbe taken out thence, nor shall they be received into Grace.)

Ch 46:26*****(26. And We had firmly established them in a (prosperity and) powerwhich We have not given to you (ye Quraish!) and We had endowed themwith (faculties of) hearing, seeing, heart and intellect: but of no profit tothem were their (faculties of) hearing, sight, and heart and intellect,

when they went on rejecting the Signs of Allah. and they were(completely) encircled by that which they used to mock at!)27-8*****(27. We destroyed aforetime populations round about you; and Wehave shown the Signs in various ways, that they may turn (to Us).28. Why then was no help forthcoming to them from those whom theyworshipped as gods, besides Allah, as a means of access (to Allah.? Nay,they left them in the lurch: but that was their falsehood and their invention.)

Ch 47:###14*****(14. Is then one who is on a clear (Path) from his Lord, no better

than one to whom the evil of his conduct seems pleasing, and suchas follow their own lusts?)

16-7*****(16. And among them are men who listen to thee, but in the end,when they go out from thee, they say to those who have receivedKnowledge, "What is it he said just then?" Such are men whose heartsAllah has sealed, and who follow their own lusts.17. But to those who receive Guidance, He increases the (light of) Guidance,



and bestows on them their Piety and Restraint (from evil).)

29*****(29. Or do those in whose hearts is a disease, think that Allahwill not bring to light all their rancour?)

Ch 49:

49: ###1-2*****(1. O Ye who believe! Put not yourselves forward beforeAllah and His Messenger. but fear Allah. for Allah is He Who hears and knowsall things.2. O ye who believe! Raise not your voices above the voice of theProphet, nor speak aloud to him in talk, as ye may speak aloud toone another, lest your deeds become vain and ye perceive not.)

Ch 52:11-6*****(11. Then woe that Day to those that treat (Truth) as Falsehood;-

12. That play (and paddle) in shallow trifles.

13. That Day shall they be thrust down to the Fire of Hell, irresistibly.

14. "This:, it will be said, "Is the Fire,- which ye were wont to deny!

15. "Is this then a fake, or is it ye that do not see?

16. "Burn ye therein: the same is it to you whether ye bear it with patience,or not: Ye but receive the recompense of your (own) deeds.")

Ch 54:###9-16*****(9. Before them the People of Noah rejected (their apostle): they rejected Ourservant, and said, "Here is one possessed!", and he was driven out.

10. Then he called on his Lord: "I am one overcome: do Thou then help(me)!"

11. So We opened the gates of heaven, with water pouring forth.

12. And We caused the earth to gush forth with springs, so the waters met(and rose) to the extent decreed.



13. But We bore him on an (Ark) made of broad planks and caulked withpalm- fibre:

14. She floats under our eyes (and care): a recompense to one who hadbeen rejected (with scorn)!

15. And We have left this as a Sign (for all time): then is there any that willreceive admonition?

16. But how (terrible) was My Penalty and My Warning?)

###24-6*****(24. For they said: "What! a man! a Solitary one from amongourselves! shall we follow such a one? Truly should we then be straying inmind, and mad!

25. "Is it that the Message is sent to him, of all people amongst us? Nay, heis a liar, an insolent one!"

26. Ah! they will know on the morrow, which is the liar, the insolent one!)

36-40*****(

36. And (Lut) did warn them of Our Punishment, but they disputed about theWarning.

37. And they even sought to snatch away his guests from him, but Weblinded their eyes. (They heard:) "Now taste ye My Wrath and My Warning."

38. Early on the morrow an abiding Punishment seized them:

39. "So taste ye My Wrath and My Warning."

Ch 57:

57:###12-9*****(12. One Day shalt thou see the believing men and the believing women- howtheir Light runs forward before them and by their right hands: (their greetingwill be): "Good News for you this Day! Gardens beneath which flow rivers! to

dwell therein for aye! This is indeed the highest Achievement!"

13. One Day will the Hypocrites- men and women - say to the Believers:"Wait for us! Let us borrow (a Light) from your Light!" It will be said: "Turn yeback to your rear! then seek a Light (where ye can)!" So a wall will be put upbetwixt them, with a gate therein. Within it will be Mercy throughout, andwithout it, all alongside, will be (Wrath and) Punishment!



14. (Those without) will call out, "Were we not with you?" (The others) willreply, "True! but ye led yourselves into temptation; ye looked forward (to ourruin); ye doubted ((Allah)'s Promise); and (your false) desires deceived you;until there issued the Command of Allah. And the Deceiver deceived you inrespect of Allah.

15. "This Day shall no ransom be accepted of you, nor of those who rejectedAllah." Your abode is the Fire: that is the proper place to claim you: and anevil refuge it is!"

16. Has not the Time arrived for the Believers that their hearts in all humilityshould engage in the remembrance of Allah and of the Truth which has beenrevealed (to them), and that they should not become like those to whom wasgiven Revelation aforetime, but long ages passed over them and their heartsgrew hard? For many among them are rebellious transgressors.

19. And those who believe in Allah and His apostles- they are the Sincere(lovers of Truth), and the witnesses (who testify), in the eyes of their Lord: They shall have their Reward and their Light. But those who reject Allah anddeny Our Signs,- they are the Companions of Hell-Fire.)

Ch 58:58: 5-6*****(5. Those who resist Allah and His Messenger will be humbled to dust, as

were those before them: for We have already sent down Clear Signs. And theUnbelievers (will have) a humiliating Penalty,-

6. On the Day that Allah will raise them all up (again) and show them the Truth (and meaning) of their conduct. Allah has reckoned its (value), thoughthey may have forgotten it, for Allah is Witness to all things.)

Ch 60:6*****(

6. There was indeed in them an excellent example for you to follow,- forthose whose hope is in Allah and in the Last Day. But if any turn away, trulyAllah is Free of all Wants, Worthy of all Praise.)

Ch 63:1-4*****(1. When the Hypocrites come to thee, they say, "We bear witnessthat thou art indeed the Messenger of Allah." Yea, Allah knoweth that thou



art indeed His Messenger, and Allah beareth witness that the Hypocrites areindeed liars.2. They have made their oaths a screen (for their misdeeds): thus theyobstruct (men) from the Path of Allah. truly evil are their deeds.

3. That is because they believed, then they rejected Faith: So a seal was seton their hearts: therefore they understand not.

4. When thou lookest at them, their exteriors please thee; and when theyspeak, thou listenest to their words. They are as (worthless as hollow) piecesof timber propped up, (unable to stand on their own). They think that everycry is against them. They are the enemies; so beware of them. The curse of Allah be on them! How are they deluded (away from the Truth)!)

Ch 64:64: 6*****(6. That was because there came to them apostles with Clear Signs, but theysaid: "Shall (mere) human beings direct us?" So they rejected (the Message)and turned away. But Allah can do without (them): and Allah is free of allneeds, worthy of all praise.)

10*****(10. But those who reject Faith and treat Our Signs as falsehoods,they will be Companions of the Fire, to dwell therein for aye: and evil is thatGoal.)

Ch 65:P1482*****()

An Messenger, who rehearses to you the Signs of Allahcontaining clear explanations, that he may lead forth those who believe anddo righteous deeds from the depths of Darkness into Light. And those whobelieve in Allah and work righteousness, He will admit to Gardens beneathwhich Rivers flow, to dwell therein for ever: Allah has indeed granted forthem a most excellent Provision.12. Allah is He Who created seven Firmaments and of the earth a similarnumber. Through the midst of them (all) descends His Command: that yemay know that Allah has power over all things, and that Allah comprehends,all things in (His) Knowledge.)

Ch 69:9-10*****(9. And Pharaoh, and those before him, and the Cities Overthrown,committed habitual Sin.10. And disobeyed (each) the apostle of their Lord; so He punished themwith an abundant Penalty.)



Ch 73:##15-9*****(15. We have sent to you, (O men!) an apostle, to be a witness concerningyou, even as We sent an apostle to Pharaoh.

16. But Pharaoh disobeyed the apostle; so We seized him with a heavyPunishment.

17. Then how shall ye, if ye deny ((Allah)), guard yourselves against a Daythat will make children hoary-headed?-

18. Whereon the sky will be cleft asunder? His Promise needs must beaccomplished.

19. Verily this is an Admonition: therefore, whoso will, let him take a(straight) path to his Lord)

Ch 74:###30-1*****(30. Over it are Nineteen.

31. And We have set none but angels as Guardians of the Fire; and We havefixed their number only as a trial for Unbelievers,- in order that the People of the Book may arrive at certainty, and the Believers may increase in Faith,-and that no doubts may be left for the People of the Book and the Believers,and that those in whose hearts is a disease and the Unbelievers may say,

"What symbol doth Allah intend by this ?" Thus doth Allah leave to straywhom He pleaseth, and guide whom He pleaseth: and none can know theforces of thy Lord, except He and this is no other than a warning tomankind.)

Ch 81:14*****(14. (Then) shall each soul know what it has put forward)

Ch 91:###7-10*****(7. By the Soul, and the proportion and order given to it;

8. And its enlightenment as to its wrong and its right;-

9. Truly he succeeds that purifies it,



10. And he fails that corrupts it!)

Ch 101:

6-11*****(6. Then, he whose balance (of good deeds) will be (found) heavy,

7. Will be in a life of good pleasure and satisfaction.

8. But he whose balance (of good deeds) will be (found) light,-

9. Will have his home in a (bottomless) Pit.

10. And what will explain to thee what this is?

11. (It is) a Fire Blazing fiercely!)

Ch 102:102: ###1-8*****(1. The mutual rivalry for piling up (the good things of thisworld) diverts you (from the more serious things),2. Until ye visit the graves.

3. But nay, ye soon shall know (the reality).

4. Again, ye soon shall know!

5. Nay, were ye to know with certainty of mind, (ye would beware!)

6. Ye shall certainly see Hell-Fire!

7. Again, ye shall see it with certainty of sight!

8. Then, shall ye be questioned that Day about the joy (ye indulged in!).)
