Respect

Excellence
I can not congratulate our fantastic Swim Schemers enough! We have had
continual reports from pool staff and local members of the community
about how respectful (and fantastic!) our kids have been. Well done
everyone! My thanks to the staff who attended Swim Scheme this year and
took such great care of our swimmers– greatly appreciated!
We welcomed our newest learners, our 2019 Kindy, to school today for
Kindy Orientation. We will again have two straight Kindy classes next year. I
look forward to working with all of our new families at our Kindy Parent
Prep session on Wednesday 28 November at 6:30pm. Bede Darcey
Learning for Life Program The Smith Family’s Learning for Life program recognises that some children need extra support to stay at school and go on to further studies or a job. Learning for Life helps create better futures for children in need by providing financial assistance
from a sponsor to help disadvantaged families afford the cost of their child’s education and support from a Learning for Life Program Coordinator to connect the child and their family to local learning opportunities and other supports. To be eligible for Learning for Life sponsorship families must meet the following criteria: - live in a community where The Smith Family has a presence; - possess a Health Care Card or Pension Concession Card; - demonstrate a commitment to education (i.e. children must attend school regularly); - be referred to us by a community organisation such as a school. To remain on the Learning for Life sponsorship program families must: show a commitment to their child’s education by ensuring children attend school; complete a student profile each year; provide a copy of end of year school reports; keep receipts of educational expenses and be able to show these as requested; participate in a partnership renewal every three years. For a referral or futher information, please contact the office and arrange to meet with Mr Darcey or Mrs Gammone.

State Athletics Success!
On Wednesday 31 October I competed in the shotput at the State PSSA Athletics Championships at Homebush. I really enjoyed the day and it was great to represent the South Coast. We had 40 in my age group. I came 19th. There were some amazing throwers in my group. Amy Campbell
