CID INVITES APPLICA TrONS FOR HIRING ONE JUNIOR CYBER FORENSICCO~SULTANT ON OUTSOURCE BASIS UNDER THE PROJECT CYBER CRIME

PREVENTION AGAINST WOMEN AND CHILDREN (CCPWC)

In order to address the increasing challenges faced by the Law Enforcement Agencies (LEA)in handling the growing spate of cyber crimes in the country, the Government of India,Ministry of Home Affairs under Police Modernization Division - has sanctioned theestablishment of Cyber Crime Forensic Laboratory cum Training Centre underCCPWC (Cyber Crime Prevention against Women and Children) project.

This is a centrally sponsored project for the prevention of cyber crimes against women andchildren and the project is being implemented with the following objectives;

1. To establish an online Cyber Crime reporting platform2. To setup advanced Cyber forensic Laboratory3. To establish training-cum-operational cyber labs in the state/up-gradation/creation

of cyber forensic operational and training facility for cyber crime investigationand training.

The proposed Cybercrime Forensic Laboratory cum training Centre is located in the CyberCrime Division, CID headquarters, Carlton House, Palace Road, Bengaluru and will act as atechnical support and training centre for the Police forces.

Criminal Investigation Department of Karnataka State Police, under the Cyber CrimePrevention against Women and Children (CCPWC) project, seeks to hire one Junior CyberForensic Consultant for a period of one year.

The services of Junior Cyber Forensic Consultant will be for a contractual period of one yearwhich can be extended further on the same terms and conditions or as per the MHAguidelines existing at the time of extension. Junior Cyber Forensic Consultant will work full-time in the lab under the supervision of the Superintendent of Police, Cybcr Crime Division.

A. Minimum Educational Qualification:Bachelor of Engineering in InformationTechnology/Computer Science/Electronics andCommunication or equivalent from a recognized institute.

B. Desirable Educational Qualification:Masters Degree in Information Technology/ComputerScience (Preferably MCA) or equivalent.

C. Minimum Work Experience:At least three years of work experience in a reputedorganization involved III IT/Cyber Forensics/CyberSecurity.

D. Desirable Experience/Skills:(i). Working experience with a Police organisationespecially in domain of crime and criminal intelligence,extremism and other aspects of criminal investigation anddigital forensics is desirable.

(ii). The candidates possessing demonstrable skills inprogramming, digital forensics, cybercrime investigationand having sufficient exposure to various technologieswill be given preference.

(iii). Ability to analyze data, write programs/scripts toextract data/analyze system logs etc.

(iv). Candidate should be conversant with networkingprotocols and internet protocols.

(v) Proficiency in local language (Kannada).

General Terms and conditions:1. Recruitment for the above post will be only on contractual basis. the department will

not be liable to convert it into regular posts.2. Initially the appointment will be for one year and thereafter the appropriate

authority/committee will consider further extension only on the basis of satisfactoryperformance. In case of non-extension after one year, contract will be considered asterminated.

3. If the candidate wishes to resign before the termination of the contract, he/she canleave after giving one month's prior notice to the controlling officer or he/she will

have to forfeit one month's remuneration. The person cannot claim any pensionaryand any other benefits.

4. Controlling officer at his discretion may terminate the contract after giving one monthnotice or salary in lieu without assigning any reason for termination.

Scope of Services:The consultant shall act as the Cyber Forensic Expert and Security Consultant to theKamataka State Police Department. He/She shall also assist in the implementation of all otheractivities undertaken in Cyber Crime Prevention against Women and Children (CCPWC)project. This also includes assisting in investigation of cybercrime cases and conductingtrainings and workshops on Cyber forensics and Cyber Security.
