The Orange County Clerk of Courts organization has taken part in this event for years now. It is important to recognize the courage our family, friends, and co-workers have had through their difficult time battling breast cancer. Community participation is key to the Orange County Clerk’s office. We serve thousands of customers every day, without knowing what they go through at home. Showing that we care about them by participating in such events, I hope will provide them comfort knowing they have an organization that stands by them.

Join me on October 31st at beautiful Lake Eola to make strides in the 5K walk around downtown Orlando. We can all play a part in raising funds and awareness to “Finish the Fight” Against Breast Cancer.

Flamingo Adoption Program for Charity (Plus Sponsor a Senior)

2015 marks the 10th anniversary for our Breast Cancer Fund Raiser held over Parrot Head Weekend at Cypress Cove. To jump-start our fund raising and also to perform a community service, for the past 3 years we have assisted a local Flamingo Adoption Agency in placing their young flamingos. The benefits are three fold in that the flamingos are placed in loving homes, the adoption fee is donated to our fundraiser and the adopting family receives raffle tickets for our July raffle.

In this regard, we’ve had a very exciting spring here at Cypress Cove watching some of the mature adopted flamingos have their own babies. Check out the photos at the top of this page.

The Flamingo Adoption Agency has 200 baby flamingos in need of adoption. The flamingo adoption fee is $20 and $30 for out of state adoptions to cover

the transportation/mailing fees. The adoption fee includes raffle tickets for our 10th Annual Breast Cancer Fund Raiser the end of July. For those of you that want to participate in the fund raiser but not raise the flamingo…you can still adopt one, get your raffle tickets and we will find a home for the flamingo. The Flamingo Adoption Agency also mentioned a new Sponsor A Senior Program thinking we might be interested. They currently have 12 ‘senior’ flamingos (larger shown in the photo on right) that want to retire and need a family to sponsor them. The sponsor fee is $40 plus $10 for other than

hand delivery. The sponsor fee includes raffle tickets for our 10th Annual Breast Cancer Fund Raiser the end of July.
