W H O A M I ?

Dear Sir or Madam,

My name is Oriol Casademont Fornells and I am a fourth-course student at Elisava School in Barcelona, studying to get my Industrial Design Engineering grade. I was born and raised in a beautiful town called Girona. Since I got my high school diploma I have travelled around Europe as much as I can. Two years ago, I moved to the Scottish capital, Edinburgh, where I lived for a year and got my Baccaleaureate degree. Later I moved on I studied for a semester in Swinburne University, in Melbourne. Now, I am living in an apartment at Barcelona’s city center with three other students.

My scholarly interests go from design, through technology, computer sciences and innovation to the environmentally respectful products which follow the utilitarian principles (products that with less material can benefit the widest range of people). As for my life outside the university, you will most likely find me reading novels or history books, listening to music.

Before programming the game, I structured the actions that could occur with a flowchart, a logical structural system. The result was the Carrot Hunter.

The player acts through a character called Carrot Hunter, a carrot-eating fat rabbit. He has to eat the good carrots (the orange ones) while dodging a the poisonous ones (the black carrots). He also has to avoid black carrots from reaching the ground and infecting it.

The player does this by controlling a black carrot eliminating circle with the mouse while controlling the rabbit’s right and left movements with the horizontal arrows.

The object of the game is to attain the highest possible score, by eating the standard orange carrots (5 points) and the golden haloed orange carrots (10 points), before being killed by a black carrot.

Following the Design Thinking Process, my team analyzed the user and his daily action timeline (on the next page. Although, before, we situated the places we wanted to analyze. We chose General Mitre Avenue (image below) because is one of the city’s sources of pollution.

Concerned about the health damaging high levels of pollution.

The neighborhood is bothered by the noise of cars.

She wakes up and rouses her children

She gets her children ready for school: dresses them and makes them eat breakfast

She opens the windows to ventilate the house

She drives the children to school, and then goes to work.

She has a fixed lunch at work

She picks up the children at school and drives them home.

She parks her car in her garage.

She and her husband read for a while and then fall asleep.

She ensures that her children are doing their homework.

She leaves the children with her husbang and goes jogging

She goes back home and showers the children while her husband cooks dinner.

They have dinner together and afterwards the children go to bed.

She doesn’t fully enjoy it due to the air pollution.

The traffic’s noise wakes her up and irritates her specially on weekends, when she could sleep some more.

She is frustrated by the city’s noise and, although she has to ventilate, she would rather be in a silent city.

The couple is bothered by the noise.

The chiildren are bothered by street noise and have difficulty in falling sleep.

We developed the idea of a cleaning wall made out of photocatalytic concrete. A well-designed modular wall, with simple union, that can be assembled in many different ways.

With this graphic work I used the 3D working program Creo pro Engineer and Photoshop CS6

I designed a screen with the design program Creo Pro Engineer. The render was designed with KeyShot 5. The stabilizing discs are made of chromed aluminum, the structure is made with pine wood and is covered by black leather on both horizontal sections.

This info-graphic compares two theoretic reutilization systems: Cradle to Cradle and Decrease. With only drawings and few words I explained the two concepts. As it was a comparison I made both structures as similar as I could, and always regarding for a general esthetic.
