EVOLUTION

Page 18: ORIGINS of HUMANITY

EVOLUTION

The scientific method that suggests modern-day humans can trace their lineage to the primitive (ape-like) species.

Page 19: ORIGINS of HUMANITY

AUSTRALOPITHECUS

Page 20: ORIGINS of HUMANITY

AUSTRALOPITHECUS

• The very 1st human-like species •walked on two feet• had small brains.• Long, strong arms built for

climbing trees

HOMO HABILIS

Page 28: ORIGINS of HUMANITY

HOMO HABILIS

• The 2nd human-like species that lived in Africa

• Credited for being the first species to use stones for tools and building.

• Brains were a little larger than the australopithecus species and faces did not stick out as much.

HOMO ERECTUS

• The 3rd “human-like” species that lived in Africa.

• Known for migrating outside of Africa.

• First to use fire .

• Brains were a little larger than the homo habilis.

CREATION

Page 64: ORIGINS of HUMANITY

CREATION

• Those who do not support the theory of evolution, believe in the idea of Creation.

• Creation is the belief that a supernatural, supreme being created man in His likeness.

OUT OF AFRICA THEORY

According to evolution, the evolving of the australopithecus to the homo sapien occurred inside of Africa and eventually migrated to other parts of the world.

Page 68: ORIGINS of HUMANITY
Page 69: ORIGINS of HUMANITY

EVE HYPOTHESIS

According to the Creation, all humans are descendents of the woman Eve, who is from Africa. Scientist also back this theory with DNA evidence that appears in all of us.

DIFFERENT RACES

• Once humans moved throughout different parts of the world, they adapted to the climate in which they lived.

• This is how it is believed we have different races.
