Welcome to 2020. I am writing this on one of our coldest days of the season and it really isn’t that bad. This seems more

like the winters down south. So, are you ready to for a new year of events? Maybe we will have an early spring!

We had two great December events that happened without a hitch. Santa made his way through the neighborhood and

carolers were out spreading cheer.

Looking forward to the Spring Cleaning and Beautification, we will be adding to the events that you can participate in.

We will have the usual April cleanup and come back later as things start to come out and do weeding, trimming and

adding to the entrance plantings as needed. Look forward for more details and plan on helping out.

We will have a new campaign for contributions that will be fun so look for that info inside the newsletter. We had a

really great uptick in the contributions last year and we really appreciate it. Every dollar helps. You can really make a

difference.

Every year there are opportunities to volunteer for some activity or position. Watch

out for the opportunities and give one a try. After all, each of you are what makes

this neighborhood great.

Please take a look at our list of advertisers. There are many good businesses worth

patronizing. Giving them your support keeps them going and growing.

Be safe out there and see you out in the neighborhood.

!!Thank You Thank You!!

An extremely fun but hectic month like December didn't stop our ORGHA women from making the magic happen in Old Rosedale! Many thanks to Christie Facione and her team for once again somehow arranging for Santa and his helpers to come all the way to Livonia and visit our Rosedale children. The pictures on Facebook showed the excitement and sweetness of these marvelous visits. We even had special cookies prepared by our own neighborhood baker extraordinaire Janine Pawelski. Then close to December 25th, songs filled our streets as Alex King, Tracey Conrad, and Chris Johnson led our ORG lantern-holding carolers, walking and singing their way through Rosedale to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. It IS a “Wonderful Life" in this neighborhood! Many thanks to all who helped.

2019 Winter Home of the Season

9609 Auburndale, Home of Tom and Donna Ogilbee

Tom and Donna have lived in their beautiful home at the end of Auburndale for over two decades. September marked

20 years. Before they were married, Donna lived on Hubbard, across from Rosedale Presbyterian, and the two spent

their first year in that home. They raised their sons in their Auburndale home, and their granddaughter Lily partly

inspired this year’s decorations. Donna used to own an antique store, and Tom and Donna bought the antique sleigh

that sits on their front porch at auction years ago. Tom refurbished the sleigh this year for Lily, and Donna completed the

rest of the decorations.

Ever wonder how homes are chosen for Home of the Season? The ORGHA Board set the rules in

place, and they are as follows: If nominated, a home cannot be nominated again for one year. If a home “wins”, it

cannot be nominated again for five years. This helps us get more homes involved, and the same group of homes don’t

continually win. There are always so many beautifully decorated homes, and we wanted to ensure that everyone

understood what we were thinking!

2019 ORGHA Contributions The final listing of 2019 contributions appears in this newsletter. What a fantastic year! We received contributions

from 46% of the homes in this neighborhood. This is the highest contribution level in at least the last 11 years!

A special thanks and well-deserved congratulations go to Ingram residents who achieved a 57% contribution rate, and to

Berwick residents who reached 53%

Maybe this year we will actually reach (or surpass!) our goal of 50% for the entire neighborhood!

As of February 10th, we have already received 20 contributions for 2020.

The suggested contribution for 2020 remains at $30, but as always, any amount contributed is gratefully accepted. As a

reminder, you can make your contributions either by mail by sending your check with the contribution form that is

included in this newsletter, or by making your contribution using our convenient online system using the link

http://tiny.cc/gi4kky . This link is also available on the Facebook Group page.
