SECTION IINTRODUCTION

1. Scope

This manual lists repair parts and special tools requiredfor the performance of organizational, direct support,general support, and depot maintenance of the pump.

2. General

a. The repair parts list is arranged as follows:(1) Individual parts and major assemblies are

listed alphabetically by item name within the numberedfunctional groups.

(2) Assembly components and subassemblies areindented and listed alphabetically by item name undermajor assemblies.

b. This Repair Parts and Special Tools List is dividedinto the following sections:

(1) Prescribed Load Allowance (PLA) Section II. Aconsolidated listing of repair parts quantitativelyallocated for initial stockage at the organizational level.This is a mandatory minimum stockage allowance.

(2) Special Tools, Test and Support Equipment-Section III. No special tools or test and supportequipment required for the performance of maintenanceat the organizational level.

(3) Repair Parts-Section IV. A list of repair partsauthorized for the performance of maintenance at theorganizational level.

(4) Repair Parts-Section V. A list of repair partsauthorized for the performance of maintenance at thedirect support, general support, and depot level.

(5) Special Tools, Test and Support Equipment-Section VI. No special tools or test and supportequipment required for the performance of maintenanceat the direct support, general support, and depot level.

(6) Federal Stock Number and Reference NumberIndex-Section VII. A list of Federal stock numbersfollowed by reference numbers, appearing in all thelistings, in ascending alpha-numeric sequence cross-referenced to index number.

3. Explanation of Columns

The following provides an explanation of columns in thetabular lists in sections II through VI.

a. Source, Maintenance, and Recoverability Codes(SMR).

Note. Common hardware items known to bereadily available in Army supply channels will be as-signed Maintenance codes only. Source codes, Re-coverability codes, and Maintenance Allowances will notbe assigned to this category.

(1) Source Code. Indicates the selection statusand source for the listed item. Source codes used are:

Code ExplanationP Applied to repair parts which are stocked in or

supplied from DSA/GSA or Army supplysystem, and authorized for use at indicatedcategories.

M Applied to repair parts which are not procuredor stocked but are to be manufactured atindicated maintenance categories.

A Applied to assemblies which are not procuredor stocked as such but made up of two ormore units, each of which carry individualstock numbers and descriptions and areprocured and stocked and can be assembledby units at indicated maintenance categories.

X Applied to parts and assemblies which are notprocured or stocked, the mortality of which isnormally below that of the applicable enditem, and the failure of which should result inretirement of the end item from the supplysystem.

X1 Applied to repair parts which are not procured orstocked, the requirement for which will besupplied by use of the next higher assembly orcomponents.

X2 Applied to repair parts which are not stocked.The indicated maintenance category requiringsuch repair parts will attempt to obtain themthrough cannibalization; if not obtainablethrough cannibalization, such repair parts willbe requisitioned with supporting justificationthrough normal supply channels.

C Applied to repair parts authorized for localprocurements. If not obtainable from localprocurement, such repair parts will berequisitioned through normal supply channelswith a supporting statement of nonavailabilityfrom local procurement.

G Applied to major assemblies that are procuredwith PEMA (Procurement Equipment MissileArmy) funds for initial issue only to be used asexchange assemblies at DSU and GSUmaintenance level. These assemblies will notbe stocked above DSU and GSU level orreturned to depot supply level.

(2) Maintenance Code. Indicates the lowest category ofmaintenance authorized to install the listed items. Themaintenance level codes are:

(3) Recoverability Code. Indicates whetherunserviceable items should be returned for recovery orsalvage. Items not coded are expendable.Recoverability codes are:

Code ExplanationR Applied to repair parts and assemblies which

are economically repairable at DSU and GSUactivities and normally are furnished by supplyon an exchange basis.

T Applied to high dollar value recoverable repairparts which are subject to special handling andare issued on an exchange basis. Such repairparts normally are repaired or overhauled atdepot maintenance activities.

U Applied to repair parts specifically selected forsalvage by reclamation units because of

precious metal content, critical materials, highdollar value reusable casings or castings.

(4) This column also lists, below the SMR code, anindex number for each item in ascending numericalsequence, which is used to locate items in thepublication when the Federal stock number and/orreference number is known.

b. Federal Stock Number. Indicates the Federalstock number for the item.

c. Description. Indicates the Federal item name andany additional description of the item required. A partnumber or other reference number is preceded by theapplicable five-digit Federal supply code formanufacturers in parentheses.

d. Unit of Issue. Indicates the unit used as a basic forissue, e. g. , ea. pr, ft. yd, etc.

e. Quantity Incorporated in Unit Pack. Indicates theactual quantity contained in the unit pack.

f. Quantity Incorporated In Unit. Indicates thequantity of the item used in the functional group.

g. Fifteen-Day Organizational MaintenanceAllowances.

(1) The allowance columns are divided into foursubcolumns. Indicated in each subcolumn opposite thefirst appearance of each item is the total quantity ofitems authorized for the number of equipmentssupported. Subsequent appearance of the same itemwill have the letters "REF" in the applicable allowancecolumn. Items authorized for use as required but not forinitial stockage are identified with an asterisk in theallowance column.

(2) The quantitative allowances for organizationallevel of maintenance represents one initial prescribedload for a 15-day period for the number of equipmentssupported. Units and organizations authorized additionalprescribed loads will multiply the number of prescribedloads authorized by the quantity of repair parts reflectedin the appropriate density column to obtain the totalquantity of repair parts authorized.

(3) Organizational units providing maintenancefor more than 100 of these equipments shall determinethe total quantity of parts required by converting theequipment quantity to a decimal factor by placing adecimal point before the next to last digit of the numberto indicate hundredths, and multiplying

the decimal factor by the parts quantity authorized in the51-100 allowance column. Example, authorizedallowance for 51-100 equipments is 12; for 140equipments multiply 12 by 1.40 or 16.80 rounded off to17 parts required.

(4) Subsequent changes to allowances will be limitedas follows: No change in the range of items isauthorized. If additional items are considered necessary,recommendation should be forwarded to U. S. ArmyMobility Equipment Command for exception or revisionto the allowance list. Revisions to the range of itemsauthorized will be made by this Command based uponengineering experience, demand data, or TAFERSinformation.

h. Thirty-Day DS/GS Maintenance Allowances.

(1) The allowance columns are divided into threesubcolumns. Indicated in each subcolumn, opposite thefirst appearance of each item, is the tote] quantity ofitems authorized for the number of equipmentssupported. Subsequent appearances of the same itemwill have the letters "REF" in the applicable allowancecolumn, but will have in the description column areference to the first appearance of the item. Itemsauthorized for use as required but not for initial stockadeare identified with an asterisk in the allowance column.

(2) The quantitative allowances for DS/ GS levels ofmaintenance will represent initial stockage for a 30-dayperiod for the number of equipments supported.

(3) Determination of the total quantity of partsrequired for maintenance of more than 100 of theseequipments can be accomplished by converting theequipment quantity to a decimal factor by placing adecimal point before the next to last digit of the numberto indicate hundredths, and multiplying the decimalfactor by the parts quantity authorized in the 51-100allowance column. Example, authorized allowance for51-100 equipments is 40; for 150 equipments multiply40 by 1.50 or 60 parts required.

i. One Year Allowances Per 100Equipments/Contingency Planning Purposes. Indicateopposite the first appearance of each item the totalquantity required for distribution and contingencyplanning purposes. The range of items indicates totalquantities of all authorized items required to provide foradequate support of 100 equipments for one year.

j. Depot Maintenance Allowances Per 100Equipments. Indicates opposite the first appearance ofeach item the total quantity authorized for depotmaintenance of 100 equipments. Subsequentappearances of the same item will have the letters"REF: in the applicable allowance column but will havein the description column a reference to the firstappearance of the item. Items authorized for use but notfor initial stockage are identified with an asterisk in theallowance column.

k. Illustration.

(1) Figure Dumber. Indicates the figure number ofthe illustration in which the item is shown.

(2) Item Number. Indicates the callous numberused to reference the item in the illustration.

4. Special Information

a. Repair parts mortality has been based on 1000hours of operation per year.

b. Parts which require manufacture or assembly ata category higher than that authorized for installation willindicate in the source column the higher category.

5. How to Locate Repair Parts

a. When Federal Stock Number or Referencenumber is unknown:

(1) First. Using the table of contents, determinethe functional group or subgroup within which the repairpart belongs. This will refer to a page in the parts listing.

(2) Second. The illustration column of the pagerefers to a figure number.

(3) Third. Locate the figure and identify the repairparts, noting the item number.

(4) Fourth. Refer back to the page of the partslisting. Find the item number in the illustration columnthat corresponds with the figure number.

b. When Federal Stock Number or reference number isknown:

(1) First. Using the Index of Federal Stock Numbersand Reference Numbers, find the pertinent Federalstock number or reference number. This index is inascending alphanumeric sequence cross-referenced toan index number.

(2) Second. Using the Repair Parts Listing, find theindex number referenced in the Index of Federal StockNumbers and Reference Numbers.
