*CALL TO WORSHIP- Philippians 2:5-11
Pastor: Let the same mind be in you that was in Christ Jesus, who
though he was in the form of God, did not regard equality with
God as something to be exploited,
People: but emptied himself, taking the form of a slave, being born
in human likeness, and being found in human form, he humbled
himself and became obedient to the point of death – even death
on a cross.
Pastor: Therefore God also highly exalted him and gave him the
name that is above every name,
People: so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bend, in
heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue
confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
*OPENING HYMN “All Praise to Thee, for Thou, O King Divine” No. 166
OPENING PRAYER
Liturgist: The Lord be with you.
People: And also with you.
Liturgist: Let us pray together.
People: We bow in amazement that you, the Father, loved the world
so much that you sent your only Son to become one with us. We
bow in amazement that you, the Son, humbled yourself in
obedience all the way to the cross for us. We join our voices in
proclaiming that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Amen.

THE CONGREGATION’S PRAYER OF CONFESSION
O God, we live such lives of stress and worry, anxious and always
striving, as if our happiness and success awaits our next
accomplishment. We neglect ourselves, abuse those around us,
and miss the gifts of life. Your gift of peace lies undiscovered and
unopened. Forgive our faithlessness. Save us from ourselves and all
that pushes us away from you. You who know us so well, help us to
know you. Amen.
PERSONAL CONFESSION in silence with organ/piano meditation
WORDS OF ASSURANCE John 3:17
Indeed, God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the
world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

service, in room 21, in the preschool hallway. Children, birth through 4
years old, can be dropped off and picked up as needed throughout
the morning. If you would rather keep your child with you, an

Calling All Musicians! We are looking for people willing to share their
gifts of music with the congregation during services this summer.
Soloists or groups, any age is welcome! Please contact Miki Chelton to
sign up.
The endowment fund provides an on-going financial tool to the church
and our community to fund projects not included in the annual budget. In
past years the revenue from the endowment fund has been able to
purchase and repair appliances for the kitchen, provide new learning
opportunities to the pre-school and fund Eagle Scout projects that directly
benefited the church. As the fund grows we are excited to see how God
will use this amazing gift to impact CUMC and the community we serve. If
you are interested in contributing to this fund, additional information can
be found in the brochures in the lobby located near the exterior doors.
Christ UMC has a group of dedicated drivers who take turns driving one of
our members from Schwenkfeld Manor to the 11:00 service each Sunday.
With Tom Harrison's departure, there is an opening for a 5th Sunday driver/
sub. If this is a volunteer position that you would be interested in filling,
please contact the church office to learn more.
Bob Vincent will be selling gift cards today. He will be selling after first
service and before second service but not after second service.
It's time to make Christmas cards! The Susannah Wesley Circle is teaming
with Liberty Ministries to create Christmas greetings. Every year, just before
Christmas, Liberty Ministries goes into Montgomery County Correctional
Facility to hand out hope to the inmates. Every single inmate receives a
Christmas Stocking during a time when these men and women probably
will not receive any visits or gifts. Our cards will accompany the stockings. If
you've thought of attending a Susannah Wesley Circle meeting, we would
love to meet you, so join us, and bring a friend. We welcome women of all
ages. We'll be in the Rose Garden rooms at 7 PM on Tuesday, July
23rd.***Important note for those who feel uncreative or uncrafty: the cards
are already made - all we have to do is color them. Bring your crayons/
markers/colored pencils and come for a relaxing evening***
The Second Term of Summer Adult Sunday School begins July 28.
VBS FOR GROWNUPS: Marge Kramer, teacher
