Sunday, December 24, 2017 Today at River Rock… We continue our Christmas Series. CHRISTMAS SERIES: MAKING SENSE OF CHRISTMAS December 24, 10:00am SIGHT ~ Luke 2:1-20; Matthew 2:1-12. See the travelers, the manger, the shepherds, the star, the magi, the gifts, the baby. God says that you will find him if you seek him. December 24 4:00pm SOUND ~ Luke 2:1-20; Matthew 2:1-18. These sounds of activity, quiet, joy, and crying are happening around us today just as they were there then. Jesus is in the midst of all of these sounds. Look for him there. December 31, there will be one service at 10:00am. Title: Out with the old, in with the new. 2 Corinthians 5:1-21. January 7, we resume with 2 services at 9 and 10:45. Upcoming Series: Christian Atheist~Believing in God but living as if He doesn’t exist. It is possible to believe in God but live as if He doesn’t exist! This is not a point-the-finger series (preachers are just as likely to have this disease as anyone). It is an invitation to be challenged and convicted about what your life could be following Jesus. The six part series is based upon Craig Groeschel’s book by the same name. January 14-February 11, 2018. Groeschel’s book and River Rock Church small group guides will be available. At the Congregational Meeting on December 3, we approved the addition of Sarah Behm, Mike Cool, and Richard Spengler as our new Elders to begin January, 2018. Thank you to those that attended the meeting. Retiring elders as of end of year are Scott Robinson, Nelson Van Elderen, and Kelly Tuit. Bring all donations to church on Sunday or to the office during the week. Contact Jen DenOuden with questions. !Thank you also to those who donated to the North Kent Connect Tree of Hope Program! Kids Hope: Kids Hope mentors are blessing 18 children at Meadow Ridge and East Middle each week. We are praising God for allowing us to show each child in Kids Hope they matter. Currently there are two children without mentors that could really use a special person in their life to play games, encourage, help with school work and just have fun with. The commitment is one hour per week during the school day. One child is a girl in 3rd grade and the other is a boy in the 1st grade. Please prayerfully consider showing up for one of these children.
