Place an order in minutes.

This guide will walk you through the simple steps of placing an order through inovia.com. It will take you just five minutes (or less!) to place an order for filing into multiple countries. Let’s get started.

To get started, visit www.inovia.com to register or login to your inovia.com account. Multiple users from your organization can create inovia.com accounts and all have access to the entire organization’s portfolio. Please note that if an order is placed, the email address that has been used to place the order will become the default communicating email for that order, unless other instructions are issued.

Once logged in, you’ll arrive at the Dashboard page where you can get a quote, view recent quotes run and track your orders.

Step 2 / Run a quote

Start by running a quote, which you can do in one of two ways:

1. From the Dashboard. Enter your application number into the 1-click quote tool (for PCT national stage entry or European validation) or the Direct quote tool (for Paris Convention filing).

2. From the Portfolio. Locate the case* that you would like a quote for and click “create.”

For a PCT or EP case, inovia.com will automatically pull in the patent specification details in order to create an accurate cost estimate.

For a Paris Convention filing, since your application is not yet public, you will need to input your patent specification details so that the system can calculate the cost estimate.

* Your PCT and EP cases will populate within 24-48 hours of registering. Please note that inovia.com is not a docketing system.

Step 3 / Select countries and agents

Step 4 / Place your order

The quote will itemize the service, official (government) and translation fees per country. Simply click on a country to add or remove it from the quote.

Selecting agents: inovia.com is flexible, allowing you to file through inovia’s agents, your own or a combination. If you’d like to use your own agents, simply tell us their details in the Profile section. We will contact them to gather their fee schedules so that you can select them on future quotes.

You can click continue to place an order at the bottom of the screen.

Step 5 / Answer questions

On the next screen, we’ll ask you a few questions pertaining to the specific countries selected in the order, such as whether or not you want to extend the European application into the available extension states.

Step 6 / Upload documents andconfirm your orderIf you have any comments pertaining to the order, please enter them into the comments box. Here are some comment examples that you might find useful:

• Please direct all correspondence for this case to Sample Attorney at [email protected].• Please invoice for 15 claims in Europe; we will provide the amended claim set in due course.• We have made significant amendments to the application, which will be forwarded to you by email.

You can also upload any documents related to your order (IPRP, amended claims) at the bottom of the question screen. Within minutes of hitting “Confirm order,” you will receive an email confirmation from inovia to verify that we have received your order.

After your order has been placed

What happens next?

InvoicesOur patent group will review your order and send you an invoice within 3 business days. You will receive one invoice PDF per case, which itemizes the service, government and translation fees per country. Our policy is for upfront payment via wire transfer, credit card or check. However, we will extend credit terms to customers who guarantee larger filing volumes. If you have a credit agreement in place, simply reply to the invoice email with your authorization to proceed. After your payment or authorization, our patent group will instruct the foreign associates.

Power of Attorney formsOur document generation technology produces all of the forms required for your case, which we will send to you in one bundle. Once you have signed the forms, please send them directly to the foreign associates.

After your order has been placed

You can check the case’s status in your inovia.com account.

From the Portfolio section, enter the PCT number into the search box and click on “view” in the order column.

This will bring you to the order confirmation screen, which will tell you the status of each country.

Standing instructions

Unlike order comments, which are followed for a particular case only, you may also provide us with standing instructions to be attached to your account. We will then follow these instructions for every case that is filed through inovia. Here are some standing instruction examples that you might find useful:
