School Council Update

go directly to School Council to fund activities for your children. Thank you to Jen Yeaman for her drive and hard work on both campaigns.

Spring Fair in May – First time, but definitely not the last time. The Orde community went into overdrive with this fun filled event with games, activities, food and amazing raffle prizes from our local area businesses. Thanks to Peggy Lee, Sole Fernandez, Jennifer Yeaman and all of the volunteers in juggling everything necessary to make this a spectacular festival.

Through the generosity of Orde Families and the support of the programs described above, we continue to spend the collected funds to enhance the students’ school experiences and support our Orde staff in making this the best school ever.

Some examples of our spending have been:

• Continuing to assist in the purchase of interactive technology to get more iPads/ laptops and smart televisions into every classroom

• Purchase of a Bluetooth enabled sound system to be used in the gymnasium and throughout the school for school events and activities

• Allocation of up to of $300 per classroom to enable teachers to buy learning aids to enrich their classrooms or to off-set the cost of classroom activities such as field trips and classroom speakers

• Funding of the activities mentioned above, like the Snack Program, as well as contributing items for prizes and awards for various events throughout the year.

This past April, with the leadership of Technology Chair Brandon Laraby, School Council launched the Orde Street Public School Fundraising Initiative to assist in funding the many important initiatives at Orde Street Public School. Donations continue to be accepted online and we encourage you to make a donation. A link can be found on the Orde Street Public School website or at - http://tinyurl.com/OrdeFundraising.

We thank you for your continued support in our fundraising efforts.

As Orde School Council continues to ramp up its activities for next year, volunteers are critical to ensure we can maintain a vibrant, energetic school community. Please contact us at [email protected] if you are interested in joining our team!!!

On behalf of Orde Street Public School Council, thank you for your amazing contributions and support this year. We look forward to another fabulous year in September. Have a great summer!
