Presenting Houston County’s 2016 Valedictorians & Salutatorians

HOUSTON COUNTY, GA – Houston County high schools have announced their valedictorian and salutatorian for the Classes of 2016. The top graduates are: • Houston County High – Valedictorian Andrew Taekyu Han, Salutatorian Kristine Nguyen; • Northside High – Valedictorian Cody Leigh Tribble, Salutatorian Alexis Nicole Isom; • Perry High – Valedictorian David Allen Forsee, Salutatorian Raymond Allen Bryant; • Veterans High – Valedictorian Shelby Madison Burnette, Salutatorian Tyler Eugene Frye; and • Warner Robins High – Valedictorian Dustin Young Priaulx, Salutatorian Phillip Loan. Andrew is an AP Scholar with Distinction, STAR Student of Houston County High, Golden Eagle nominee and a member of the National Honors Society. He plans to major in computer science at Georgia Institute of Technology and pursue a career as an entrepreneur. He’s the son of Young and Ja Han and is Priscilla Han’s little brother.

Houston County High Salutatorian, Kristine Nguyen Kristine Nguyen currently serves as President of French Honor Society, Vice President of National Honor Society and Flute Section Leader of the Houston County Black and Silver Brigade. In addition, she is an active member of Beta Club, Student Council and French Club. Kristine is an Advanced Placement Scholar, Purdue University Presidential Scholar, Coca-Cola Scholars Semifinalist, Golden Eagle nominee and a recipient of the University of Georgia Certificate of Merit. In the community, she is an Altar Server Group Leader and Sunday School Teacher Aide for Sacred Heart Catholic Church, a peer tutor and a volunteer at the Houston Medical Center. She plans to attend either Purdue University or the University of Georgia to pursue a degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences. She is the daughter of Hoa and Kelly Nguyen and the sister of Vincent, Anthony and Jonathan.

Northside High Valedictorian, Cody Leigh Tribble Cody Tribble is an AP Scholar with Honors who has a 4.0 GPA. He has received the Georgia Certificate of Merit and is one of only 5,000 people internationally earning the honor of being named a Questbridge Scholarship Finalist. Throughout high school, Cody has participated in Beta Club, Math Club, and numerous performances with the Northside Blue Wind Band. Since joining the band his freshman year, Cody has held positions of leadership and has received a varsity letter. In addition, he was also invited to play in the 2014 GMEA District Honor Band alongside some of the best high school musicians in the region. Cody is considering attending several colleges to include Brown, Clemson, the University of Pennsylvania and Georgia State in order to pursue a degree in Actuarial Science. Cody is the son of Christy Harrelson and Donal Tribble.

Northside High Salutatorian, Alexis Nicole Isom Alexis Isom won the Georgia Merit Scholar Award and the College Board’s AP Scholar Award. She is a member of Thespian Troupe 2892 and is also involved in Student Council and a basketball cheerleader. In addition, she serves as an Eagle Ambassador. Alexis has also been involved in Literary and Beta Club, and she represented Northside High in the Robins Regional Chamber of Commerce Youth Leadership Program. Her plans are to attend the University of Georgia to pursue a double major in Accounting and Sports Management with a minor in Spanish. Alexis is the daughter of Terrance and Kawanya Isom.

Perry High Valedictorian, David Allen Forsee David Forsee serves as Vice President of Future Business Leaders of America and President of the National Honor Society. He is very active in the theater program at Perry High and is a proud member of the 2012 and 2013 GHSA One-Act Play State Champions. As an AP Scholar, David earned perfect scores on the AP World History, AP US History, and AP Language/Composition exams. He received First Honors (A Honor Roll) each of his high school years. He was awarded the Georgia Certificate of Merit and Governors Honor Nominee. In 2015, he was invited to participate in the Perry Youth Leadership program. David enjoys giving back to his community and has served as an organizer for Keys for a Cure that helped raise funds and awareness for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). In addition, he serves as a peer tutor and mentor for

Houston County Schools and volunteered in the Perry High School Special Olympics. David has applied to the University of Georgia and Yale University, where he plans to pursue a degree in Playwriting and Theatre. His parents are Russell and Beverly Forsee.

Perry High Salutatorian, Raymond Allen Bryant Raymond Bryant is a member of the Future Farmers of America, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Prayer Club, National Honor Society and National Technical Honor Society. In addition, Raymond is an active member of the Air Force JROTC Unarmed Regulation Team and Color Guard. As a Cadet Colonel in the AFJROTC, Raymond was invited to attend the AFJROTC Summer Leadership School in 2014 and 2015. Raymond has earned First Honors (A Honor Roll) each of his high school years. As an AP Scholar, he has earned the highest average award in AP Biology and AP Statistics, as well as the highest average award in Honors Biology and US History. He earned a perfect score (5) on the AP Statistics Exam and a four (4) on the AP Biology Exam. Raymond earned an ACT score of 33 and an SAT score of 1300 for Math and Reading. He has been awarded the Aerospace Education Foundation Academic

Award, Outstanding ASI Cadet Award, Daedalian JROTC Achievement Award and the Military Officer's Association of American JROTC Medal. Raymond is actively involved in his community, to include serving as a leader in his church youth ministry. He has participated in World Changers mission trips and the Kings Chapel Elementary Fitness Club. He also serves as a peer tutor and mentor for Houston County schools. Veterans High Valedictorian, Shelby Madison Burnette Shelby Burnette is an Advanced Placement Scholar with Distinction who has earned highest average awards in Honors Civics, Honors US and World Affairs, Honors Biology, Honors Ninth Grade Literature, Honors American Literature, Honors Chemistry, Spanish 2, AP World History, AP English Language, AP Chemistry, AP US History, and AP Psychology. She has been active in Family, Career and Community Leaders of America for four years, having served as president and vice president of competitive events, and in Beta Club, serving as president. A member of Rho Kappa, the National English Honor Society, and the Math Team, Shelby works as a collaborator in the Warhawk Workshop Writing Center. She has been a varsity cheerleader for three years, serving as captain and earning the scholar athlete award for two. In the community, Shelby is a member of KAZ service sorority, and participates in Teens About God. She further was a

recipient of the University of Georgia Certificate of Merit and the Distinguished Young Woman of Georgia Overall Scholastic Award. Shelby plans to attend the University of South Carolina, where she plans to study sports management, aspiring to be an event coordinator for the Southeastern Conference. A USC McNair Scholarship semifinalist, she is the daughter of Mark and Lisa Burnette.

Veterans High Salutatorian, Tyler Eugene Frye Tyler Frye is a National Merit Commended Scholar, an Advanced Placement Scholar with Distinction, and a University of Georgia Certificate of Merit recipient. He is active in Rho Kappa, Chemistry Club, International Thespian Society, National English Honors Society, Family, Career and Community Leaders of America, KAZ service sorority, Spanish Honor Society, Literary Team, and Math Team. He served as an officer in Beta Club for three years, and is a collaboration trainer for the Warhawk Workshop Writing Center. Tyler is an accomplished musician, having made All-State Chorus for six years and All-State Reading Choir for two years. He has performed with concert chorale for four years, and was additionally a Governor’s Honors Program semifinalist in voice. The 2016 STAR student, Tyler has volunteered at the hospital and also interned for a US Senate

campaign. He is considering the Georgia Institute of Technology, Northwestern University, and Columbia University to continue his education, planning to study Biomedical Engineering and Vocal Performance. Warner Robins High Valedictorian, Dustin Priaulx Dustin Priaulx has received numerous academic achievement awards throughout his high school career, most notably of which include earning the highest GPAs in AP US History, AP Government, Accelerated Pre-Calculus and Spanish III. He is also an AP Scholar with Distinction and has received the Georgia Certificate of Merit. He is the President of the Robins Air Force Base Keystone Club, Mu Alpha Theta and the Academic Bowl Team, and is a member of the Green Demons Recycling Club, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Beta Club. For two years he lettered in varsity soccer. In addition, he is an Eagle Scout with three palms. Dustin was selected for multiple leadership programs to include RYLA for District 6920, Youth Leadership Robins Region and the Flint Energies Washington Youth Tour. He has volunteered at the local soup kitchen and participated in 4-H National Science Days and worldwide days of

play at the Youth Center. Additionally, he has volunteered as a sideline camera technician for the Warner Robins Touchdown Club, as a Recreation Aide at the Robins AFB Fitness Center, as a tutor for Central Baptist Church’s Homework Helpers and Lindsey Elementary, and has interned with the Office of Congressman Austin Scott. Dustin has received Congressional nominations from Senator David Perdue, Senator Johnny Isakson and Congressman Austin Scott to attend the U. S. Air Force Academy where he plans to major in Computer Science. His goal is to serve in the Air Force as a pilot. Dustin’s parents are Don and Aeran Priaulx.

Warner Robins High Salutatorian, Phillip Loan Phillip Loan is an AP Scholar, gifted student and honor graduate. He has been awarded the Honors Biology Award, Honors Chemistry Award, Anatomy Award and the Georgia Certificate of Merit. He is involved in Science Club, Beta Club, Art Club, Math Club and DECA. Phillip is proficient in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. He has used both of these programs to design school t-shirts and posters for DECA. He also participated in the Robins Region Youth Leadership Program. His passion is cheerleading - he is the captain of his allstar cheer team and was nominated Cheerleader of the Year for his gym. In his free time, he volunteers at two medical centers, the Houston County Volunteer Clinic and Dr. Shroof’s Medical Group. Phillip has also volunteered for the Salvation Army and STEM Day at the Museum of Aviation. He plans to attend college to pursue a medical degree to become a neurosurgeon.
