Welcome back to the Opus Legacy, a joint legacy betweenilovereecee/Katie and myself, hippielayla86. We are currently in generation3, and the lovely Mel Opus is our heiress. Seb (gen 2 heir) and his wifeAndrea's eldest daughter Ellen just got married last chapter and their threeyoungest daughters, Mel, Scar and Tara are all still in college. As with theprevious chapters, this one will be told in Mel's perspective, and if I havesomething to add, I'll do it at the bottom of the slide. Let's see what they'reup to shall we?

My sister Scar has been really into her crafts lately, from pottery to hertoymaking. It's odd to see her so focused on her crafts instead of herboyfriend Gabe.

Almost as if she were readingmy mind, Scar invited Gabeover for a visit and then onething led to another.

Let's just say that they missed each other.

Tara is doing really well in school, she and Topher have just

completed their Sophomore year of school with A+'s a piece.

Maybe I was getting a littlejealous of the constant Tara andTopher escapades around thehouse, because when I sawDerek, I couldn't help myself.

I haven't seen Derek sinceEllen's wedding, and I was

really missing him. So I invitedhim over for a visit.

I was starting to feel things for Derek that I had never felt before. Healways knew exactly what to say, and what to do to make me feel like aQueen! I know he feels the same way too.

There's nothing I'd rather do then spend my time with him. I lovecooking for him, he's so appreciative of it. It's so wonderful how wellwe get along, we're like two peas in a pod.

So it shouldn't be surprising to anyone that I want to spend the rest ofmy life with him. I know it's a little untraditional, but I asked Derek tomarry me, and of course he accepted.

Graduation couldn't come soon enough now!

They took Mammy, now quite

an old dog, with them forcompany. And because theyknew it would help Mom andDad to have less dogs to takecare of for a while.

The Hendersons, ie Ellen andChris, ie my sister and herhusband, have saved up

enough money to move out ofmy parent's house and get aplace of their own.

I really like their new house. It's a cute Tudor style home, with justenough room for a young family. They do have plans to renovate laterthough to make some more room for themselves.

Shortly after their move whenthey were starting to get

settled, Ellen found out thatshe was pregnant.

Maternity leave was an easy time for Ellen, she mostly painted withthe company of faithful Mammy by her side.

So you can imagine how distraught she was when Mammy died of oldage. Poor Mammy was such a dear pet, we will all miss you quite a lot.

When one life leaves the world, another usually has it's way ofshowing itself. Ellen's baby on the way is strong and healthy it seems,she says the baby often wakes her in the middle of the night with akick or a squirm.I don't even know if that's a thing, but it definitely wakes sims up!

Despite the excitement andhappiness felt over their little

one on the way, Ellen and Chrismissed Mammy a lot anddecided to adopt a furrycompanion Alegra, a cutelong haired siamese cat.

Late one night Ellen rose from bed with sharp pains, she was goinginto labor with their first child.

I now have an adorable niece

My book for this generation is

Something Borrowed by EmilyGiffin. It's a great book forquick summer reading as it ischick lit. Annalise is the maincharacter's childhood friend.

I now have an adorable niecewith red hair and my Dad'seyes. Her name is Annalise and they are calling her Anna.Chris is going to stay home

with Anna on paternity leave sothat Ellen can get a move on hercareer, it is her dream to be atthe top of her field.

So my little niece Annalise isgrowing right up. We were just

over to Ellen and Chris's tocelebrate her birthday. I mustsay she mostly takes after herDaddy.

Back at home, Gabe has a new hobby as well, leaving bizarre statuesfor Scar after their dates. What in Pleasantview are we going to do withthat bust statue???

Scar and I are excited, we only have 1 semester left before wegraduate! We've both been able to maintain 4.0s during school too, sowe're quite proud of ourselves. Tara and Topher are now Juniors andare both Literature majors.

Scar and I have completed our college years and are proud owners ofour new degrees! I know my degree will help me out with getting a jobin the game design field. I can't wait, I've always dreamed of designingnew games!!Mel's ltw is to be a game designer if you didn't remember from last

chapter.

To celebrate, we threw agraduation party. Everyone

showed up even some of ourprofessors. Derek hascompleted his degree as well,and we're looking forward toour upcoming wedding!

Scar and Mel picked some interesting outfits to age up into, I'm glad

they're not part of my Apocalypse challenge, those outfits would not befun to keep. Although, for an apocalypse challenge, Mel's wouldn't betoo far from the norm!

Once we graduated, both Scar and I moved back in with our parentsuntil we could get out there on our own two four? feet.

Scar quickly invited overher boyfriend Gabe and

invited him to move inwith us.I can't wait to see Dad's

reaction to Scar'sboyfriend living underhis roof before the two

are married...

But, it looked like Gabe wasn't going to give Dad much of anopportunity to be mad with him. He proposed to my sister on the nightof his arrival, and my twin accepted his proposal.

And, I have to give Mom a hand, she's really keeping Dad distractedin her own way...

yneeds to continue a family line,Archie or Big Sam haveexpectations on them as well.So I decided to go to the petstore, and found little Emilyand adopted her. She's anadorable Boston Terrier.

Giffin, the author of the bookfor this generation.

Gabe is the only one of our boyfriends, well fianc now, that didn'tget grilled by Dad. I think it's because he sought Dad out first andasked him about something he really loved, all of our family vacations.Dad had a blast telling Gabe all about our journeys that it didn't evencross his mind to tell Gabe that his future would be worse than a ratin my garden if he hurt Scar.

After getting the thumbs up from Dad, Scar and Gabe didn't wasteany time and got married in our front yard.

I'm so happy for my sister, Ican tell that Gabe makes her

very happy!

Scar and Gabe's reception wasa blast, it was nice to see

friends from college and spendtime with family.

The day after Scar's wedding the two of us were outside cleaning upwhen we decided spur of the moment to have some fun. We bothhopped on the swings just like we did when we were kids on the verysame swingset. It was silly how much fun we both had, but it was nice

to just relax and talk to my sister just like the good old days.

I went over to Moses's graveand thought about those who

went before me.Life can pass you by quickly if

you don't embrace it. I'm sohappy that my parents madesure all of us knew that.

Scar was sad to see us go, andbegged Mom and Dad to keep

Big Sam. Of course they agreedseeing that their daughter wassad to be losing her twin, andknowing that Scar has alwaysbeen an animal lover.

Our new house is incredible.Mom and Dad were really ontosomething when they said that

they wanted to permanently beon vacation.

It will take a little while to get

adjusted to having the beach inour backyard, but I think we'llbe able to handle it! ;)

We didn't waste anytime inenjoying the beach, even Emily

Moving has really made me startthinking about my future, and our

family's past. My Grandparentsand parents put in a lot of hardwork to get us where we are now.I need to make sure my children always remember how lucky they are to

live the lives they live. Since they will surely have an easier time at it thanmy father and my Uncles and Aunts. With that in mind, I invited Derek over.

I want to make sure that my Dad and Derek have a great relationship.So Derek and I will be taking things slowly. We're both going to talk tomy parents over dinner about our future plans.

Dad is never shy to talk abouttheir many vacations. I know it

means a lot to them to live on abeach now.Their new house is full of vacation

souvenirs and it's rare when a daygoes by that Seb doesn't share a

memory or story with someone.

questions about what mattersto them family, friends, andenjoying life.

Dad likes Derek, but that

doesn't mean he is okay withus sharing a bed. But that'sokay with us, we aren't in thatstage of our relationship yetanyway.

Derek wants to impress hisnew boss, so he's beenspending a lot of time on our

exercise bike buffing up for hisjob as a Security Guard.

I must say with all of his hard work, Derek is quite a hottie! It seems

like he got a six pack over night!

Seb has been hard at work setting up his daughter's wedding. He hasn'teven told his wife Andrea about his scheming. Seb does spend most ofhis time thinking about his family and future grandchildren, so it's nothard to see that he would want Mel and Derek married right away.

When Andrea got home, Seb was very eager to show her the set up forthe wedding. The two of them kept quiet about it for a few more daysthough since both Mel and Derek were very focused on completing theircareer LTWs.

So my fears were washed away today, Emily and Archie get along so

well, that they are now expecting puppies. Mom told me she heardsome commotion in the dog house the other day... I'm glad I didn't hearit!

My fianc brought home some pretty fantastic news today, he was

promoted to a Cadet. His new job started just a few hours after the jobhe was promoted from, so it was a long day for him.

So, my computer glitched a bit, and I lost all of the family portraits. Ihad to age Andrea and Seb down to get portraits of them, but I wasn'tsure what I was going to do about Gil and Yuki... the other thing thathapppened was both of them were glitched once I had aged them down,so I had a little trouble to deal with just to get pictures. But it wasworth it!

My wedding day has arrived. All of my sisters, their significant

others, some friends from college and even one of our professors allshowed up in style.As the guests arrived, I was just finishing getting ready.

My darling Melanie, I am so happy this day has arrived. You look simplyradiant! I am happy to have Derek be part of our family, and I know he is going

to take great care of you... plus I won't be too far away, so I can keep an eye onhim Dad said that last part as he winked at me.Daddy, I know I've never told you this before, but thank you for keeping such

close watch on us girls as we grew up, it may have been embarrassing at times,but I definitely knew when I had found the one since you were making the men

in our lives prove that they were good for us.

We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day. The waves were

slowly cresting behind us, the sun was shining down, there wasn't acloud in the sky. But I only noticed the sky in the pictures later on,because I only had eyes for my love.

our last name, but he doesn'tseem to mind one bit. He said,What's a last name whenyou're marrying the love ofyour life?

Tara. Topher didn't like that one bit, but instead of seeing the cow asthe one at fault, he blamed poor Tara!Unfortunately, we are all familiar with this situation...

neglected by Topher that when Rudy came over, she couldn't keep theattraction she felt for him from taking over.

Rudy was head over heels for Tara. He was delighted that she was

confiding in him. Rudy and Derek have been friends for a long time,and Rudy told Derek that he was a bit worried about Tara using him asa rebound.

Things got a little complicatedwhen it seemed like Topherfinally noticed the extraattention Tara was getting fromRudy. He burst into the roomand picked her up in his arms...talk about awkward!

Topher's shenanigans didn't bother Tara. She knew her feelings for

Rudy were more than just consolation, and proceeded to tell everyonehow she really felt about Rudy.

Topher and Tara werehomebound the next day. Sincethe two were confused about

what was really going on withthem, they decided not tothrow a big party, and justmove back to Alpine Creek.

Tara had saved up enoughmoney to move into a smallstarter home on her own. Dad

and Ellen were the first tovisit her there.

Dad spent quite a bit of time with Tara the first week she was back at

home. I don't think he liked his baby girl living on her own, but henever said so out loud, he just wasn't far away from her for too long.

One night Dad did go homeearly, and Tara went to bed.Unfortunately Dad's fears were

affirmed when a burglar snuckinto Tara's home. She quicklyraced to the phone to call 911.

As the thief was trying tomake off with her telescope,one of Derek's buddies on the

force made it there in time totake the thief down!

Tara was very shook up by thewhole thing and invited Rudyover for the first time the next

day. She hadn't spoken to herfianc since Topher had kissedher. But she knew she neededto see him and straighten outher feelings.

While Tara's life was inturmoil, things couldn't bebetter for Gabe and Scar. The

two newly weds are attached atthe hip and are adjusting tomarried life with great ease.

Scar found out shortly after their wedding that she was expecting

their first child.

Little Hillary was born to Gabe and Scar. She was the light of theirlives and they have decided to have Hillary would be an only child.Hillary is close friends with both the main character and the maincharacter's best childhood friend in Something Blue. Gabe and Scar willalso only be having one child, since there are not a lot of names inSomething Blue, and there are a lot of sisters to have children in theOpus family!

Our large childhood home willnot be empty though. Dakotaand Big Sam just had a litter of

puppies.
