QZ Lubricator QZ

The QZ Lubricator feeds the right amount of lubricant to the raceway of the LM rail. This allows an oil filmto be constantly formed between the rolling elements and the ball raceway, thus significantly extending thelubrication maintenance interval.

Features● Since it supplements an oil loss, the lubrication

maintenance interval can be significantly extended.● Since the right amount of lubricant is applied to the

ball raceway, an environmentally friendly lubricationsystem that does not contaminate the surroundingsis achieved.

● It allows the user to select a lubricant that meets theintended use.

ApplicationsThe QZ Lubricator provides an optimal lubricationsystem for the following requirements. ● To introduce an eco-friendly machine.● To prevent contaminating the surroundings of the machine/

equipment.● To eliminate the waste of grease or oil used in the LM Guide.● To minimize the piping of the machine.● To extend the greasing interval or want to stop greasing.● To lubricate the machine only with oil (want to avoid grease

lubrication).

(1) Highly oil-impregnated fiber net

The structure of the QZ Lubricator consists of three major components:

(1) A highly oil-impregnated fiber net (functions to store a lubricant)

(2) A high-density fiber net (functions to apply the lubricant to the raceway)

(3) An oil control plate (functions to control the flow of the lubricant)

The lubricant contained in QZ Lubricator is fed to the LM system based onthe principle of capillary action, which is used in felt-tip pens and otherproducts.

Significantly Extended Maintenance IntervalAttaching the QZ Lubricator helps extend the maintenance intervalthroughout the whole load range from the light-load area to theheavy-load area.

Note 1: The QZ Lubricator has an air vent. Do not block the vent with grease or the like.Note 2: Those LM Guide models attached with the QZ Lubricator cannot have a grease nipple. When desiring both the QZ Lubricator and a grease nipple to be attached,

contact THK.Note 3: The QZ Lubricator is not sold alone.

Laminated ContactScraper LaCS

For locations with an adverse atmosphere, Laminated Contact Scraper LaCS is available.LaCS removes minute foreign material adhering to the LM rail in multiple stages and prevents it from enteringthe LM block with its laminated contact structure (3-layer scraper).

Features● Since the 3 layers of scrapers fully contact the LM rail,

LaCS is highly capable of removing minute foreignmaterial.

● Since it uses oil-impregnated foam synthetic rubber with aself-lubricating function, low friction resistance is achieved.

Basic Specifications of LaCS● Service temperature range of LaCS: -20℃ to +80℃● Resistance of LaCS: see the table below.

Optimal for use in harsh environmentssubject to foreign material such as finedust and liquids.

Note 1: LaCS is not sold alone.Note 2: For the maximum service speed of LaCS, contact THK.

Note: Each resistance value in the table represents the maximum resistance value of LaCS when one unit of LaCS is attached on each of both sides of the LM block. However, the value does not include the sliding resistance of the LM block, seals, etc.

Light Sliding ResistanceContact Seal LiCS LiCS

LiCS is a contact seal with a low sliding resistance. It is effective in removing dust and the like from theraceway and retaining a lubricant such as grease. With its very low sliding resistance, LiCS achieves asmooth and stable motion.

FeaturesLight Sliding Resistance Contact Seal LiCS is a contact seal thatuses a low sliding resistance material for the seal andcontacts with the LM rail raceway. It is optimal for locationsrequiring a low sliding resistance such as semiconductor-related machines, inspection machines and OA equipment, which are used in favorable service conditions.

● Effective in removing dust or the like adhering to the LM rail raceway witha seal that contacts the raceway.

● Use of oil-impregnated, foamed synthetic rubber, which is high self-lubricating, achieves a low sliding resistance.

* LiCS model SSR is attached with a grease nipple as standard. For themounting location of the grease nipple and the incremental dimension withthe grease nipple attached, see page 16.

* LiCS models include types that also support other Caged Ball LMGuide models such as SHS. Contact THK for details.

Basic Specifications of LiCS● Service temperature range: -20℃ to +80℃● Resistance of LiCS: For seal resistance of LiCS, see

the table below.

Metal Cap Dedicated for LM Rail Mounting Holes

Mounting methodTo insert GC cap into a mounting hole, use a flat metalpiece like the one shown in the figure, and gradually drive themetal cap until its top is on the same level as the LM rail topface. When inserting GC cap, do not remove the LM blockfrom the LM rail.

GC Cap

GC cap is a metallic cap that plugs the LM rail mounting hole (article compliant with the RoHSDirectives). It prevents the entrance of foreign material and coolant from the LM rail top face (mounting hole)under harsh environments, and significantly increases the dust control performance of the LM Guide if usedwith a dust control seal.

Features● Eliminates the clearance between the mounting hole

(counterbore hole) and itselfSince GC Cap is driven into a mounting hole (counterborehole), it does not leave a clearance.

● Demonstrates a sealing effect over a long period due tosuperb resistance to wearIf a dust control seal or the like passes over the top face of theLM rail to which foreign material adheres, a downward force fromthe top of GC cap is generated.

Since the metal cap has a sufficient retention, it does not sinkeven in such a case.

Note 1: The LM rail of an LM Guide model attached with GC cap is of special type.

Note 2: GC cap cannot be mounted on an LM rail made of stainless steel or provided with surface treatment.

Note 3: If using the product in a special environment such as vacuum, low temperature or high temperature, contact THK.

Note 4: GC cap is not sold alone. It is always provided in combination with LM Guide.

Note 5: The mouth of the LM rail mounting hole is not chamfered. Take care not to hurt your hand when attaching GC cap.

Note 6: After attaching GC cap, be sure to level and clean (wipe off) the tope face of the LM rail.

Note 7: If you desire a one-rail LM Guide model attached with GC cap, apply the following example of model number coding.
