Manager Training Seminar 2020 Optimizing Management Skills Senior Housing has significant opportunities ahead. It also has some challenges. One of those challenges is attracting and retaining the best people to work in our communities. As a manager/team leader, it is critical to understand the best ways to manage people and to develop your own management skills accordingly. This is important so that you can help your team achieve its goals and for your own career progression. This course is appropriate for new managers and those that want a refresher/update to their management skills. The goals of the program are to help participants: Understand their management, communication and leadership profile, their personal brand, and how the two are linked Identify and develop necessary skills to manage and lead employees and peers in individual and group settings Understand how to use these skills to create good business relationships with direct supervisors and others in the community Sharpen their business communication skills, with a focus on understanding how to communicate with different groups within a community Understand the power of harnessing feedback/evaluations for personal and team development Evaluate how to interact with different generations in the workforce Develop the skills needed to appropriately delegate outcomes to their employees in order to increase both the capacity and personnel development of their teams The day includes lecture, interactive exercises, relevant videos, and will also give participants the opportunity to practice some of the skills discussed. Participants will be required to complete a ProScan survey prior to attending the course. The ProScan will provide them with a personalized trait and leadership assessment. The ProScan results will be used to help participants better understand themselves as well as how they are likely to interact with people and react to business circumstances. She has been a board member for a number of organizations including LifeSpire of Virginia which operates 4 CCRCs in the state of Virginia. She is currently the Managing Partner of LeadSpark LLC, a consulting firm that focuses on people and leadership development including executive coaching and strategic and financial consulting for businesses. A total of 6.0 hours of continuing education credit for Nursing Home Administrators can be earned. Credit applied for through the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Nursing Home Administrator s and DHSR for Adult Care Licensure. LeadingAge North Carolina is a Registered Sponsor of continuing education with the NC State Board of Examiners for Nursing Home Administrators. Senior Housing has significant opportunities ahead. It also has some challenges. One of those challenges is attracting and retaining the best people to work in our communities. As a manager/team leader, it is critical to understand the best ways to manage people and to develop your own management skills accordingly.
