Social-transcendental function which has a positive influence on social life. But in reality, research on functions in the archipelago tradition is still being done so that these functions are not optimal in society.

Optimizing social-transcendental functions can be done through the realm of education by integrating them in learning process.

Strategy

Exploring the social-transcencental function of Kidung Sedekah Gunung and the optimalization an be done with Anthropolinguistics.

Sibarani (2013) argues that language studies in the field of anthropolinguistics are associated with the role of language in the intricacies of human life. Sibarani also revealed that culture is the most dominant aspect in human life, so that all hierarchies of language studies in the field of anthropolinguistics are analyzed in relation to culture.

Types of Research Qulitative Research (Creswell, 2010).

Substantive Data Sources Kidung Sedekah Gunung tradition of the southern slopes community

of Merapi, i.e. the Kidung Mijil Labuhan Merapi which is Mijil-

metrum

Locational Data Sources

The locational data source is the southern slopes of Merapi precisely in

Kinahrejo Hamlet, Umbulharjo Village, Cangkringan District, Sleman

Regency, Yogyakarta Province.

Data A part of Kidung that containing social-transcendental functions and

information obtained from secondary sources (ethnographic

interviews, articles, and relevant documents).

Data Collection Technique Observation method with recording and note taking techniques

(Sudaryanto, 2015) and also ethnographic method (Spradley, 2007).

Data Analysis Methods and

Techniques

Extralingual equivalent method (Mahsun, 2005) with contextual

techniques (Rahardi, 2009).

A. The Social-Transcendental Function of The Kidung Sedekah Gunung Tradition

South Merapi Slopes Community

Humans must build horizontal relations with other humans and vertically with their God

(Suryani, 2015). Kidung Sedekah Gunung tradition contains social and transcendental functions.

The Social Functions: As a media to encourage and establish cooperation among community members.

The Transcendental Functions: As a media to give thanks to God, pray, and ask for forgiveness.

Based on the elements of social communication (Vera & Wihardi (2012) and

transcentental communication (Laswell as cited in Khimatullah, 2018).

B. Optimizatio n of The Social-Transcendental Function of The Kidung Sedekah

Gunung Tradition South Merapi Slopes Community

Kidung Sedekah Gunung tradition as an oral literary product, has the potential to save

usefulness.

Based on continuity parameters, the acquisition of information about the existence of

social and transcendental functions of the Kidung Sedekah Gunung tradition can be

optimized through the realm of education especially at the tertiary level, i.e.

anthropolinguistic subjects.

The results of the study can be used as teaching materials and case examples. Students

can be asked to explore the same topic in the culture of their respective regions.

CONCLUSION

The Kidung of Sedekah Gunung tradition of the southern slopes of Merapi

implicitly contains social and transcendental functions based on the

elements of its communication.

The social functions of Kidung are to encourage and establish cooperation

among community members.

The transcendental functions are to give thanks to God, pray, and ask for

forgiveness.

The results of studies on social-transcendental functions can be integrated

into anthropolinguistic courses in an effort to optimize both functions, by

making them as teaching materials and case examples.
