OPSITE Visible Drain Dressing – Application Step 1 Remove the dressing from the outer packaging. Detach the 2 film securing strips from the dressing and place on a clean, dry surface and retain for use in steps 5 and 6. Clean and thoroughly dry application area in accordance with normal procedures. Step 2 Peel away the large section of the white/orange backing paper marked 1. Step 3 Carefully position the dressing so that the drain tube comes through the aperture in the middle of the dressing. Adhere the dressing to the skin around the drain insertion site Remove the remaining backing papers marked 1 and adhere the film to the skin, ensuring the edges of the dressing along the aperture are lined up together. Step 4 Gently peel off the top carrier marked 2, you may wish to steady the the drain with your other hand at this stage. Step 5 Separate the 2 film securing strips. Remove the backing paper marked 1 from one of the strips and apply over the aperture of the dressing, adhering the top portion of this strip to the underside of the drain. Remove the top carrier marked 2 Step 6 Remove the backing paper marked 1 from the second securing strip and apply horizontally over the top of the drain so it adheres to the top of the drain and the exposed adhesive of the other securing strip. Adhere the strip to the dressing and skin. Remove the top carrier marked 2 and mould the film around the drain tube ensuring the dressing is secure and the patient comfortable Removal Remove the film securing strips by loosening the film and stretching them parallel to the patients skin while stabilising the patients skin and drain with the other hand. OPSITE Visible Drain Dressing – Application

Step 1

Remove the dressing from the outer packaging.Detach the 2 film securing strips from the dressing and place on a clean, dry surface and retain for use in steps 5 and 6.Clean and thoroughly dry application area in accordance with normal procedures.

Step 2

Peel away the large section of the white/orange backing paper marked 1.

Step 3

Carefully position the dressing so that the drain tube comes through the aperture in the middle of the dressing. Adhere the dressing to the skin around the drain insertion site Remove the remaining backing papers marked 1 and adhere the film to the skin, ensuring the edges of the dressing along the aperture are lined up together.
