International Cooperation and Partnerships

We dynamical ly develop in ternat ional re lat ions wi th numerous academic and indus t r ia l i n s t i t u t ions f rom Europe, America and Asia. Univers i ty cooperates wi th over 140 European univers i t ies in f rame of LLP Erasmus. Each year, we welcome more than hundreds of Erasmus s tudents , of fer ing them the wide range of courses taught in Engl ish. Each year many univers i ty s tudents and aca-demic s taf f take opportuni ty to s tudy, teach or receive t ra i n i n g a b ro a d i n f ra m e o f E ra s m u s m o b i l i t y . We are a member of in ternat ional in i t ia t ive Consor t ium PROGRES 3 created to foster cross-border (Czech, Slovakia, Poland) scientific cooperation and facilitate more effective planning, management and realization of joint education and research projects as wel l as to enhance economic si tuation of local societ ies. Thanks to long-term collabora-tion with Illinois State University, U.S., we organize Po l i s h -Amer i can Summer Sc hoo l . By ma in ta i n i ng relations with U.S. Embassy and U.S. Consulate General i n Cracow our academic soc ie ty have chance to par t ic ipate in lectures given by high-ranking American diplomats . IEEE Opole Students Branch represents In s t i t u t e o f E lectr ical and Electronics Engineers – world’s largest profess ional associat ion dedicated to advancing techno-l og i ca l i nnova t i on and exce l l ence f o r t he bene f i t of humani ty. Our div is ion helps our s tudents to expand their in teres ts and knowledge in electr ical engineer ing and computer sc ience. As a resul t of cooperation with one of the key academic inst i tut ions in China - Bei j ing Univers i ty of Technology – our Univers i ty s igned an agreement wi th HANBAN (Off ice of Chinese Language Counci l In ternat ional) es tabl ish ing Center of Poland - China Cooperat ion - Opole Confucius Ins t i tu te.

City of Opole and Opolskie Region

Opole - the capi tal of the Opolsk ie Region as wel l as its culture, economic, education and scientif ic center, wi th a populat ion of about 130 000 and over 30 000 s tudents . I t i s t ru ly an academic c i ty, located in the sou th -wes t pa r t o f Po land , upon t he Odra R i ve r. I t has been known as the Capi tal of Pol ish Song s ince i t s impress ive amphi theater holds the Nat ional Song Festival. Opolskie Region combines almost every possible nature values and touristic attractions available in Poland. Breathtaking landscapes of Opawskie Mountains,

old fores ts , pic turesque lakes and r ivers , famous s ights and urban en ter ta inment . The region has an un ique regional cul ture, and most of al l , an except ional c l imate and tourist - friendly atmosphere. Nearness of Wroclaw and the Si lesian Agglomerat ion plus an easy access to their airports makes living here or visit ing the region even more in teres t ing and convenient .
