6.2 Control panel
6.2.1 The following is displayed by a digital display on control panel:
- phase voltage in the presence of voltage on the main line;
- generator current frequency in case of power supply from generator;
- programmed values in programming mode;
Values listed below are displayed sequentially when pressing the "MENU" button in "AUTO" or "ON" modes
(test mode).
- phase A voltage of main electric line;
- phase B voltage of main electric line;
- phase C voltage of main electric line;
- phase B voltage of generator;
- phase B generator current frequency.
6.2.2 Meaning of light signal indication on the control panel:
- light indicator "Generator" flashing with yellow light if phase B generator voltage is within the limits set
by the user. When you turn on the power relay the indicator lights with yellow color;
- light LED indicator "Line" blinks with green when the voltage of three (A-B-C) phases is within the
limits established by the user. When you turn on the power relay the indicator lights with green color.
6.2.3 Emergency light-signal indication (red color) shows the faults of generator and ASA and provides an
emergency stop of the engine. In case of emergency the corresponding indicator lights and activates the
emergency switch. Pressing any button turns off the emergency switch.
Emergency indicator continues signaling and blocks ASA operation even if the source of the accident is
eliminated. To cancel the alarm indication, first, it is required to select "OFF" mode and then restore the
operation mode.
Indications of emergency light signaling indication on control panel:
1. HIGH TEMPERATURE (generator engine overheating) – turns on if generator signal comes to the relevant
input (No. 3 at signal terminal).
2. LOW OIL PRESSURE (low oil pressure/level) - turns on when receiving a signal from the generator to the
relevant input (No. 4 on the signal terminal). This accident will not be monitored for 8 seconds after starting the
generator engine. If "LOW OIL PRESSURE" signal comes when trying to start the engine the emergency LED
will flash and ASA will expect disappearance of the signal.
3. VOLTAGE ERROR (noncompliance of frequency/voltage) - turns on if the generator frequency goes outside
the limits set by the user for the time more than that preset by the timer (set by the user) or if the gnerator voltage
is out of the specified limits (set by the user). The generator frequency and voltage shall be controlled for 4
seconds after a switching of the generator power relay on.
4. LAUNCH ERROR (launch failure) – turns on if the generator engine did not start up after a given number of
attempts (set by the user). This type of accident is canceled after switching of main network or pressing "OFF"
button.
6.3 ASA has operating modes selected by pressing button on the control panel:
1. “AUTO” mode is designed for ASA offline operation. In this mode, the unit monitors the main supply line
(presence of power voltage and phase voltage within a given range) in case of non-compliance with a given
voltage range, the ASA will disconnect the user from the main power line and will activate the generator. When
the engine is running, the relay will be immediately disconnected. After the generator phase B voltage will be
released in the nominal mode, it will be activated upon expiration of time period set by the program for generator
contactor (set by the user).
At the time when the voltage of all phases of main network will be released at the nominal value the generator
engine will continue running for a preset time of waiting for the main electric network (set by the user). After
expiration of the delay time the generator power relay is switched off and the main power supply contactor is
switched on. If the specified "Cooling" delay is set the generator will run during this time. After the expiration of
the delay time, the ASA will disconnect the fuel solenoid and generator engine will stop. The generator will be
ready for the next run.
The following is controlled by ASA in case of standby power supply:
a) parameters of power supply line: current frequency and voltage;
b) engine parameters (engine temperature and oil pressure).
2. “ON” mode (manual mode (test)) - used to test generator in the presence of main electric line or to maintain
generator in a standby mode. Generator action in this mode is similar to that in "AUTO" mode but power relay of
main electric line will be switched on provided voltage in main power supply line. If there is no voltage in main
power supply line the power relay will be switched off and generator power relay will be switched on, in case of
nominal voltage of main line the ASA will connect the power supply (loading) to it but generator will continue
running; to stop click the button "OFF".
3. “OFF” mode (SWITCHED OFF) - in this mode, the power relay of main power supply line will be activated
if the electric mains phase voltage is within the limits set by the user. The generator engine in this mode will be
stopped.
4. Indicators serviceability test is used to check the performance of the entire control panel. This mode is selected
when you press "OFF" and "ON" together and cancelled when you release the button.
5. Values setting mode (hereinafter - programming) - used to program timer and set parameters required for the
operation of ASA automation.
To enter the programming mode, first press "OFF", then press "MENU" and hold two buttons pressed for 4
seconds, the digital display will indicate "Pr" value (entry to programming mode). Each "MENU" pressing
indicates the following parameter for programming; if button is released the current value is displayed.
For example, if you press "MENU" the display will indicate "P01"; when you release "MENU", P01 will be
displayed (table 6.1) which can be increased or decreased using "ON" (-) and "AUTO" (+).If you press "MENU"
again, the digital display will show "P02"; if button is released P02 will be displayed (Table. 6.1). This can be
continued until "P22". After P22, you will return to P01. Set parameters are stored in memory which does not
affect power failure. To exit the programming mode press "OFF".

6.4.2 Program descriptions
1. Program P01 - if voltage of one of the phases falls below this level this means that the voltage on the
main line disappeared and the power will be supplied from the generator.
2. Program P02 - if voltage of one of the phases is higher than this level this means that the voltage on the
main line disappeared and the power will be supplied from the generator.
3. Program P03 - if the voltage of generator Phase B falls below this level if the power is supplied from
generator this means that the generator voltage is disappeared and generator engine will be stopped.
4. Program P04 - if the voltage of generator Phase B is higher that this level if the power is supplied from
generator this means that the generator voltage is disappeared and generator engine will be stopped.
5. Program P05 - if the generator frequency falls below this value for the time exceeding that preset by the
delay timer in case of loaded generator - this causes generator's disconnection from the power supply and
immediate stop of the engine. This option is not controlled during the first 4 seconds after activation of the power
generator relay.
6. Program P06 - if the generator phase B frequency exceeds this value for the time exceeding that preset
by the delay timer in case of loaded generator - this causes generator's disconnection from the power supply and
immediate stop of the engine. This option is not controlled during the first 4 seconds after activation of the power
generator relay.
7. Program P07 – if the generator phase frequency goes outside of the limits set for the period exceeding
that preset due to delay by frequency in case of active engine – this causes generator’s disconnection from the
power supply and immediate stop of the engine.
8. Program P08 – setting of the number of attempts to activate the generator.
9. Program P09 - time of previous electric heating of the generator engine before switching on the starter
(if generator is equipped with starter).
10. Program P10 – time of the delay between unsuccessful starting attempts.
11. Program P11 – setting of the generator’s starter operation.
12. Program P12 – setting of the delay to disconnect fuel solenoid for generator’s stoppage.
13. Program P13 – setting of the delay time to make sure that the voltage on the main power supply line is
stable and has a nominal value. If upon expiration of the delay time the voltage on the main line is nominal the
ASA will switch the consumer from the generator to the main power supply line.
14. Program P14 - setting of time period when generator is operating for cooling (idle running) after
unloading.
15. Program P15 – time between switching on the generator power relay and main line power relay.
16. Program P16 - time between switching on the main line power relay and generator power relay.
17. Program P17 – configuration of fuel and programmable outputs as well as type of input to oil sensor.
18. Program P18 – delay in fuel pump activation. It can be used with uninterruptible power supply (UPS) for
electric station back-up.
19. Program P19 - if this option is programmed to 0 the additional output can act as a remote start. If it is
programmed to 1 the additional output can be used for emergency stop.
20. Program P20 – setting of maximum time for the generator engine continuous operation. If using jointly
with program P18 it is possible to operate generator in an intermittent mode.
21. Program P21 – if programmable output is defined as throttle valve relay this output will operate jointly
with starter output and will be disconnected after expiration of this time. When programming this timer for the
required value the throttle valve can be released prior to or after the engine start.
22. Program P22 – if this parameter is set to 0.0 (by default) the programmable output will operate
according to program P21 mode. Otherwise, the programmable output will operate after starter output activation
with a delay of this timer provided disconnection after stoppage of the generator engine.
6.4 ASA connection to the generator with petrol internal combustion engine
Connection of the generator with petrol internal combustion engine to ASA shall be allowed only by means of
invert relay included in the mounting package.

7. TROUBLESHOOTING
7.1 The generator shall be started if there is voltage on the main line:
- voltage on the main line can be outside the specified limits. It is required to check voltage on the control
panel after pressing “MENU”;
- set voltage limits can be very narrow. Enter the programming mode and, if necessary, expand the range.
7.2 Generator continues working in case of recovery of the voltage on the main line:
- it is required to expand the specified voltage limits. Hysteresis for voltage is 10 Volts. If there is no
voltage on the main line the lower limit is increased and the upper one in decreased for the value of hysteresis to
prevent false switching of the consumer to the main power supply line.
7.3 If there is no voltage on the main line the automatic system activates the fuel solenoid but the engine will
not start and the oil pressure indicator is flashing:
- battery pressure is not fed to the oil pressure sensor input (-);
- oil pressure sensor connection terminal is not connected or inappropriate;
- broken oil pressure sensor;
- sensor is activated with a delay; if emergency signal disappears the generator engine will be started.
Oil pressure sensor can be additionally replaced.
7.4 The engine is not activated from the first attempt. The following attempts are not performed and oil
pressure emergency indicator is flashing:
- delay in oil pressure sensor activation. If there is an alarm the generator engine will not start. When the
signal disappears the engine will start. Oil pressure sensor can be replaced additionally.
7.5 If there is no power on the main power supply line the generator engine will start provided automation
alarm signaling on unsuccessful activation and the engine will stop:
- generator voltage does not arrive at "Generator" terminal. It is required to measure voltage of all
generator phases to the "Generator" terminal (voltage between phase and neutral). Perhaps the fuse P5 is
broken(fuse located on the printed board).
7.6 ASA is not switched:
- it is required to check ASA connection to voltage ±12 V.
8. TRANSPORTATION AND STORAGE
8.1 ASA in the package of manufacturing plant may be transported by any means of transport in accordance
with transportation rules applied for each means of transport.
8.2 Conditions of ASA storage at the warehouse of the manufacturer shall comply with DSTU IEC 60439-
