Intended UseThisproductisprimarilyintendedforhomeandcommercialuse,aswellasforassociations.Theproductisinstalledonatop-hatrailaccordingtoDINEN50022(carryingrail,DIN-RAIL).Thevoltagesupplyisprovidedviafixedwiringtothemains(230V/AC,50Hz)withthecorrespondingprotection(seetechnicaldata).Thecorrespondingmainsunitisalreadybuiltintotheproduct.Theinstallationmustonlybeperformedbyaspecialist.Generally,thedevicemustbepowereddownbeforechangingthewiring.Theproducthasthreeexchangerelaysforthe230V-/400V-range.Differentphasescanbeswitched,butswitchingofrotarycurrentencodersisnotintendedfor(therelaysarenotwarrantedtoswitchatthesametime).Therelaysmustbeprotectedfromoverloadbyanexternalprotectiondeviceaccordingtothespecificationfromthetechnicaldata.Thereisonlyafunctionalseparationbetweentherelays.Therefore,mixedoperationofmainsvoltageandlowprotectivevoltageisnotpermitted.Mixedoperationofindustrial,commercialandhomeareasisnotpermittedeither.Thereare3x230V-switchinginputstomonitorvoltagesupplyofsubdistributionsanddevices.Allthreevoltageinputsshare the same neutral conductor but are galvanically insulated against the voltage supply input. Therearealsotwogalvanicallyinsulatedswitchinginputs(max.32V)formonitoringof,e.g.,aPLCvoltagesupply.Only products that are either listed as accessories on the website for the product or that are indicated accordingly intheproductoperatinginstructionsmustbeconnectedtotheoptionalRS485interfaceviaRJplug.Thetotalcablelength must not exceed 3 m and must not be placed along current-conducting lines. AcommonSIMcardisrequiredtooperatetheproduct(notenclosed).

5. Safety InformationPlease read the operating instructions completely before commissioning. They contain important information for correct operation.The product must only be installed in your electrical installation via a corresponding specialist. There is a fatal danger from electrical shock in case of improper work at the mains voltage!In case of damage caused by non-compliance with these operating instructions, the warranty/guar-antee will expire. We do not assume liability for any consequential damage.Nor do we assume any liability for damage to property or personal injury caused by improper use or failure to observe the safety instructions. In such cases the warranty/guarantee will expire.• Ensure proper commissioning of the system. Observe the operating instructions for it.• Consultanexpertwhenindoubtastotheoperation,thesafetyortheconnectionofthesystem.• Whenhandlingproductsthatmaycomeintocontactwithelectricvoltage,observethevalidVDEregula-tions,especiallyVDE0100,VDE0550/0551,VDE0700,VDE0711andVDE0860.

• A device for all-pin separation from the mains voltage must be provided on the installation side (e.g. FI circuit breaker).

• Themodulemustonlybeoperatedafterithasbeeninstalledtouch-proof.• Thepower/voltagemustbeswitchedoffintheinstallationareawheninstalling.Allwiringworkmustbeperformedwiththevoltage/powerswitchedoff.

• Beforeeachsetup,checkyourproductanditscablesfordamage.Ifitcanbeassumedthatsafeopera-tionisnolongerpossible,thedevicemustbeturnedoffandprecautionsaretobetakentoensurethatitisnotusedunintentionally.Itcanbeassumedthatsafeoperationisnolongerpossibleif: - the product is visibly damaged - the product no longer functions - the product was stored under unfavourable conditions for an extended period of time or - if it was subjected to heavy stress during transport.

• Allsystemcomponentsleftthefactoryinperfectconditionintermsofsafetyengineering.Theusermustobserve the safety instructions and warnings contained in these operating instructions to preserve this condition and to ensure safe operation.

• This partial product is equippedwith highly integrated components.Electronic components are verysensitivetoelectrostaticdischarge.Therefore,pleasedonottouchanymetalcontactsandinparticularno plug sockets.

• Theproductmustnotbecomedamporwet.• Donot expose thedevice to anyhigh temperatures, drippingor splashingwater, heavymechanical

General Notes Theseinstructionsdescribethefunctionandoperationatthetimeofprint(seedateonthetoprightofthefirstpage).ChangesthatserveproductimprovementcanbeperformedatanytimebyConrad.Themostrecentoperatinginstruc-tions will be provided on the associated product page on www.conrad.com in a timely manner.Theproducthasanupdatefunction.Pleaseusetheupdatefunctionwhenyoufindanoteornewproductversionsofthefirmwareontheassociatedproductpageatwww.conrad.com.Thefirmwareupdateprocessisconnectedtorisks.Iftheupdateprocessisimpaired,thismaydamagetheproductandreplacementmayberequired.Thisriskandtheconnectedcostsforremovalandfailureshallbeassumedbytheclient.Therefore,theupdatefunctionshouldonlybeusedtoremoveanerror.Duetothecomplexityoftheproduct,errorandmistakesarereserved.

a) General DescriptionsTheproductcanbeusedtopermitagroupofupto50participantstoswitchtherelaysfreeofcharge(bycalling)andusingtheconsumerswiredtothem(e.g.dooropeners).Three230Vandtwo32Vswitchinginputsmaymonitorconsumersandvoltage.TheirconditionchangesarereportedtotheuserbyalarmSMS.Therealsoisa„newsletter“functionthatforwardsamessagetotheproducttoaspecificpartialgroup.Possibleareasofapplicationare:• Free consumption control via the phone number (INCALL)• Remote controlling and monitoring of consumers• Informing groups via SMS• Maintenance timer or counter with deactivation function when exceeding the maximum maintenance timeOptionally,thereistheoperationofEMAILdispatchaswell.Iftherequirementsaremet,furtherEMAILrecipientscanbeenteredforthesamemessagesasforSMS.Thepricesdepend on the data rate of the mobile phone card. TheproductionhasanoptionalRS485interface.Functionscopeandsupporteddevicesarecommunicatedinthefurther operating instructions. Only basic functions are described in these operating instructions.• Theseinstructionsassumethefunctionalscopeatthetimeofprint.Theoptionofthefirmwareupdatemeansthat

1. Operating VoltageTheGX155hasaninstalledmainsunitfor230V/AC.Theconnectionisperformedviascrewterminals.Useofwire-endsleevesisrequired.Theproductmustbeexternallyprotected(seetechnicaldata)

2. IN1 to IN3: 230 V-switching inputsTheswitchinginputsIN1toIN3aredirectlydesignedfor230Vandshoulddetectthestatusofvoltagesupplyofsub-distributions and switchable consumers. All switching inputs share the same ground potential (N) but are galvanically insulated from all other connections together with N.

3. Connection for GSM aerialThisiswheretheenclosedGSMaerialwithMMCXplugistobeconnected.Theaerialmustbepushedinverticallywithoutforce.Otherwisetheaerialsocketmaybedamaged.Note,thattheantennaismountedoutsideofanswitchcontrolbox/electricalcabinet.

4. STOP buttonThisbuttonswitchesoffallrelaysandblocksthemagainstactivation.ThisBLOCKmodeisrecognisedbytheperma-nentlylit„ERROR“LED.To„release“it,thebuttonmustbepushedforatleast3seconds.Pushingandholdingformorethan5secondsleadstoareset.Formoreinformationonthis,seechapters„Reset“and „Factory Reset“.

5. SIM cardAcommon,releasedSIMcardisrequired.Thefrontcovermustberemovedfor insertion.TheSIMcardholder islocated below that. Removal of the cover is recognised by a sensor and leads to immediate SMS alarm (if set and activated). Observe chapter 7 regarding the SIM PIN.

6. OUT1 to OUT3: Change relay 3xchangerelaysareavailable toswitchsignalsandconsumers.ThesemaybedirectlyswitchedviaSMSor theINCALLfunction.Therelayscanbeblocked(button)andsecuredagainsttoo-quickswitching(„RELAYTIME“).Thetechnicaldataandsafetynotesmustbeobserved.

7. IN4 and IN5: Max. 32 V switching inputsTheswitching inputsserve,e.g.,monitoringofvoltagesupplies(examplePLCcontrols).Thethresholdvalue is farbelowthe32Vmaximumvoltage.Formoredetails,seethetechnicaldata.

9. Mini-USB portThisisonlyaccessibleafterremovalofthefrontplate.ThisinterfacecanbeusedtoconfiguretheproductwithaPCsoftwareandinstallnewfirmwareupdates.Observethefollowinggeneralnotes.Forthefirstsettingofparameters,theproductcanalsobeoperatedwithoutexternalpowersupply,viaUSBonly.However,noINxorOUTxinterfacesare available via USB.

10. RS485-InterfaceThisinterfacecanbeusedtoconnecttheGX155tooperationalaccessoriesandassessitthroughthis.Thereisalsothe option of controlling the GX155 via this interface. Optional accessories are offered via the product website at www.conrad.com.

c) Notes on Use• Thereisnoprescribedassemblyposition.• WhenusingtheUSBsocket,observethatthecableislongenough.Lateralforcesontheplugged-inplugscanleverthesocketsfromthePCBandthuscauseirreparabledamage,lossofwarranty/guarantee!

• Towarrantthedevicefunction,chooseasiteofusewheretheGMSnetworkreceptionisasgoodaspossible.• Theproductmustnotbesubject to continuousstrongvibrations (e.g. vibratingmachines, directmotor/chassis

contact).• Theproductisnotprotectedagainstweatherandthereforemustbeinstalledinside.• Use of wire-end sleeves is generally intended for. • Theexternalcablesmustbekeptasshortaspossibleandremaininglinelengthsmustnotbecoiled.• Too-strong temperature fluctuationsmay lead to temporary impairment and requiremanual „Reset“ inextreme

cases.• Theproductisnotintendedforthe„Safety“areaandalsodoesnotcorrespondtoanySIL/ASILlevel.

7. Commissioning - First Steps Priortocommissioningoftheproduct,checkwhetheritisgenerallysuitedfortheintendedapplication!

Incaseofdoubt,alwayscontactaspecialist,expertorthemanufactureroftheproductused!

The following is needed for operation and configuration of the device:• AcommonmobilephonewithitsownSIMcardforconfigurationandcontroloftheGX155andtochangetheSIM-

PIN of the device SIM card• An additional device SIM card for the GX155 The following is required for confirmation via PC and for any firmware update:• Mini USB cable • PC or notebook with Windows operating system and at least one USB2.0-port• OfficiallyreleasedPCsoftware(seedownloadareaontheproductwebsiteatwww.conrad.com)

a) Changing the PIN Code to „1513“EverySIMcardhasaPINcode.BecausethisGSMproductusesitsownPINprocessing,theSIMcardPINcodemustbe changed to that of the product.The following steps are required for this:• TheSIMcardintendedfortheproductmustbeinsertedinanymobilephone.• Accordingtotheoperatinginstructionsofthemobilephone,thePINcodemustbechangedto1513.• TheSIMcardwiththechangedPINcodemustberemovedfromthemobilephone.• TheSIMcardwiththechangedPINcodecannowbeinsertedintotheproduct.

b) SIM Card InsertionTheSIMcardwiththePINnumber„1513“mustbeinsertedintheintendedSIMcardholder.

Themodulecanbesuppliedvia theUSBsocket for thefirstconfiguration.Note, thatnot thecompleteGSM-functions are available via USB.

Afterconnectionof thevoltagesupply, themodulewillstartupautomatically.After insertingtheSIMcard, thetheGSMLEDis lit (networksearch);aftera fewseconds, theGSM-LEDshouldstartflashing(network found,deviceready for operation). IftheGSMLEDdoesnotstarttoflashafterafewminutes,thereisnoconnectiontotheGSMnetwork.Inthiscase,thenetworkqualityandfunctionoftheSIMcardmustbeinspectedattheproductsitewithaseparatemobilephone.IftheGSMsignalisweak,theUSBportenergymaynotbesufficient.Inthiscase,theproductmustbeoperatedwithan external voltage supply.IfanerroroccurswhileconnectiontotheGSMnetworkisestablished,itissignalledwiththeerrorLED.Inthiscase,activatethefrontbuttonformorethan5seconds.Furthermore,theSIMcard(PIN/PUK/activation)mustbeinspectedandthereceiverqualityatthedevicepositionmustbeverifiedwithaseparatemobilephone.

IfthedeviceusedtobeusedwithanotherSIMcard,thereistheoptionofthePINnumberintheproductbeingchangedandnownolongermatchingthefactorysetting„1513“.Inthiscase,thedevicemustbereset to factory settings (section „Factory Reset“).

TheSIMcardmayhavebeenlockedinthemeantimeandmustbeunlockedwiththePUK.Inthiscase,usea separate mobile phone and unlock the SIM card.

8. Configuration via Text MessageToreceivethefullfunctionalscopeoftheproduct,itmustbeconfiguredfirst.Theentireconfigurationisperformedby simple text message commands you send to the product (the phone number of the SIM card in the product) from your mobile phone.Thismethodmakesitpossibletoactivate,deactivateorchangethesettingsofyourdevicefromanywhere.Alternatively,theproductcanbeconfiguredviatheUSBinterfaceusingPCsoftware(availableviawww.conrad.com).

TheseoperatinginstructionsdonotdealwithconfigurationviaPCsoftware.Thisonlydescribeshowtheproduct canbecontrolledwithamobilephone,withoutanyotheraids.For thesakeof completeness,commandsthatareonlyavailableviaUSBarelistedaswell.Theyaremarkedspecifically.

Toprotectfromunauthorisedaccess,theproductgenerallyreactstoauthenticatedmessagesonly.Inatextmessage,youauthenticateyourselfbyincludingthecorrectSIMPINoftheGXproduct(nottheoneofthemobile phone on which the text message was written).

d) Relay Outputs AllrelayswitchinginputsaresecurelyinsulatedfromareasoftheGSMPCBthatmaybetouched.Theseparationfor safety low-voltage is designed for overvoltage category III and contamination degree 2 according to EN 60664-1. The relay switching contacts only have a functional insulation against each other. The relay thereforemust only switch either mains voltages only or low safety voltages only. Mixed operation (switching mains voltage AND switching safety low voltage) is not permissible.
