After opening the dxf file in AUTO CAD , Type the command : menu A select menu file tab opens.. In that go to locate to tha path c:\aveva\pdms11.6\autodraftACADsource, and select the file as per the autocad version.. Starts from 2000, 2000i, 2002 and 2004, and for further revisions after 2004 we can use 2004. Load that file and press open, Then the following message appears, press YES.

Then you will find in the the command menu as follows. Command: MENU Menu loaded successfully. MENUGROUP: ACAD So now you had opened the menu successfully… then as a next step you have to apload the lisp files to make the menu working. And that should be done as follows. In AUTOCAD command type : AP A pop-up as shown below will open locate to the path mentioned in the image, i.e, c:\aveva\pdms 11.6sp2\autodraftACAD\

and load all the lisp files.. as mentioned as per the below image.. and press load as mentioned. You will see a line in the command window of acad as follows APPLOAD Successfully loaded 8 files.

Then close the pop up window and then go to …. And go to the menu in as per the image below.. just click on the PDMS Draw menu colours. That’s it… the file is coloured with layers.. just like the image below…

So you can find the autocad drawing with layers..
