The Essentials Program will deepen your knowledge of feng shui and develop your intuition and abilities enabling you to create spaces that are harmonious, integrated and inviting.

This program is for design professionals looking to integrate feng shui principles into their practices, as well as individuals seeking practical and usable methods for creating more harmony in their own homes and businesses. Students intending to certify as a feng shui consultant are most welcome in the Essentials Program, which offers solid preparation prior to enrollment in our nine-month Professional Certification Program.

Riding the Flow Our instructors are experts in adapting ancient wisdom and methods to modern challenges, and are thought leaders and respected practitioners in their own right. Most of all, they all have a genuine interest in your well being and development as a student of feng shui.

Created at the request of professionals, alumni and others who wanted a more accessible, affordable program, Feng Shui Essentials offers the core ideas and methods taught by the same world-class instructors in our nine-month Professional Certification Program at a fraction of the cost.

HigHLigHTS oF Feng SHui eSSenTiALS:

• Form & Foundation – Study of chi (energy/life-force), yin and

yang, the five elements and how to apply these principles to create more vibrant, harmonious environments.

• Ming Gua – Learn basic use of the luopan compass for auspicious directions of personal chi.

• Living Environments – Apply understanding of Human Ecology and regenerative design to create natural and vital spaces.

• Plus – The power of color, feng shui for gardens, space clearing and principles of sheng chi and sha chi… and so much more.

Feng Shui Essentials in Four Weekends The program meets over four weekends in a three-month period. Classroom study and on-site consultations all take place in the Bay Area during weekend course time. An online forum, phone support, additional readings, and hands-on homework are also included in this program.

Golden Gate School of Feng Shui is renowned for its innovative and hands-on approach to the practice of this healing art. Our instructors share a common belief in teaching principles, not dogma. It’s our experience that understanding the principles behind the practice empowers students to respond dynamically to the challenges of any environment.

Feng Shui Essentials tuition is $1,888 and covers all materials,course fees and instruction. Liu Ming – Founding director of the Five Branches Institute College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (1984) and has studied Asian culture, history and religion for over forty years.

Manu Butterworth – Founder and director of Golden Gate School of Feng Shui, Manu is committed to making essential wisdom more accessible and widespread.

Matthew Chapman – Is a teacher, mentor and graduate of Golden Gate School of Feng Shui, and a successful feng shui consultant in San Francisco.

Carol Venolia – Is an architect and educator who has been involved with ecological building for over 30 years. Named a Green Design Trailblazer by Natural Home Magazine, she has designed numerous context-responsive homes and consulted on schools, healing centers, and eco-villages.
