Opening Ceremony Highlights Wednesday 21 st December, 2011 The opening Ceremony was presided over by Country Director HHRD Mr. Fazal ur Rehman along with other special guests honorable Mr. Mehmood Ahmad (Chairman Read Foundation), Ms. Momina Dar (Director HR World Vision) and Mr. Arif Khalil (Director Programs HHRD). Mr. Arshad on the behalf of Skills Development Program (SDP) team welcome the vocational trainers came from all provinces of Pakistan and the AJK for learning and developing their technical and managerial skills. He also appreciated the valued participation of the honorable guests. Mr. Fazal ur Rehman illustrated the vision of Aik Ghar Aik Hunar and appreciated the skills development team on implementing this vision with true spirit and dedication. He showed great content on the achievements and was much confident on expanding this program in 2012 as well. Mr. Mehmood appreciated the approach and working of HHRD’s skills development program and term the working of women trainers as challenging job for contributing in nation’s development. He appreciated their working and motivated them to keep working in same directions with more dedication considering it as sadqa e jaria. Mr. Arif Khalil apprised the guests and the participants about different programs and operational area of HHRD and the vision behind HHRD’s working. Ms. Momina Dar was also much excited on this experience of meeting with women trainers representing the rural setup of Pakistan and AJK. She shared her personal experiences being a working lady and tried to motivate them for this valued work. At the end of the ceremony hand-made bags prepared by the Skills Development Center Mansehra was presented to the guests.

Opening Ceremony Highlights

The opening Ceremony was presided over by Country

Mr. Arshad on the behalf of Skills Development

Training Objectives

1. To learn the concept and application of HHRD’s Skill Development Program.

2. To enhance the technical expertise of the Vocational Trainers for quality improvement at

center level trainings.

3. To develop the managerial skills of these trainers specifically focusing on best

management of the Centers.

4. To trained them in product development, color combination and marketing techniques for

enabling them to work for sustainable livelihood.

Training Arrangements

All the trainers along with their family members were accommodated in hotel Larainb Inn G-9/4

Islamabad and were provided good food, comfortable traveling arrangements through Daewoo services

with pick and drop services from Adda to hotel. HHRD beard all the traveling, food and accommodation

expenses. Internally the program team decided following responsibilities to manage the training;

Closing Ceremony

December 23, 2011

The closing ceremony was entitled” Launching Ceremony of Training Manual for HHRD’s Skills Development Program. About 150 people participated in the ceremony representing media, development sector, trade and industry, lok virsa, education and business community. All the participants well appreciated the efforts of HHRD on organizing these women from all provinces of Pakistan and AJK for real women empowerment in rural setup.

Dr. Ilyas Syed (Director Rehab HHRD)

acknowledged the role of vocational

trainers.

Mr. Khalid Naeem (X-Director General

Social Welfare) praised the integrated

efforts of HHRD, especially focusing the

women empowerment and requested to

add the women literary program in their

agenda.

Ms. Sabika (Business lady in New York)

was much exited to see the lady from

remote areas especially from Baluchistan

and offered her maximum support for

HHRD in developing the life standard of

these women.

Fazal ur Rehman (CD HHRD) illustrates the

vision of Helping Hand regarding

community based women empowerment

through Aik Ghar Aik Hunar. He gratitude

all the guests on encouraging HHRD and

the women vocational trainers, present

there. He told this year HHRD trained 4164

women and next year going to reach to the

figure of 8000 Insha’Allah.
