TRANSCRIPT
Thankfully, and happily, I’d like to introduce a wonderful friend, great instructor, and fellow artist: Shirlee Lind as our
NEW PRESIDENT! Our good fortune continues with our NEW
TREASURER: a wonderful volunteer and fellow artist Sandy Jelinek. A HUGE "Thank You" to Diana Strom and Shawn Van
Doren who stepped up to fill, got our newsletter out and fol-lowed through with the workshop . Their service to the guild
was above and beyond the call of duty. Secretary, Chris Ever-est and Charlene Tritt, Workshop Chair and I add: FANTASTIC
JOB! They both are still healing but doing well. We have
weathered through a transitional few months but thanks to our supportive members we are doing great and look forward to our new officers and new beginnings. I will be tak-
ing Chris Everest’s position as Secretary; thanks to Shawn our Vice President taking over the newsletter.
We plan to have our meetings for the next 3 months at the St. Paul United Method-
ists Church on Fridays at 12:00, pm until further notice. Our July Meeting is our Annual Picnic at the North Clackamas Park. We still plan to go back to the Oak Lodge Water
District eventually. At that time we may go back to our regular meeting day and time. Check out the committee list to see where you might like to serve. Looking forward
to having more workshops. Our demo April 14th will be info on a new company called Artists and Craftsman Supply in Portland off of SE Powell. Bea Greening will be installing
officers at our April meeting. It’s been a privilege to serve as your president. Come vol-
unteer and join the fun! Sincerely, Connie Emmons

Competition SPRING!
Our ongoing saga with meeting place.
If you follow us you will know that we have had chal-
lenges since October 2016 with regard to meeting site. We are now stable for three months at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church. Our fu-
ture is in the air based on what happens with Oak
Lodge Water District and their construction project.
We appreciate your patience during this transition.

Inside this issue:
Member Gary Michael,
an accomplished artist,
gave a wonderful pastel
workshop on March 25.
A roomful of delighted
attendees created pastel
paintings with Gary’s
guidance. He showed
his methods and logic in
creating a painting and
wandered the room giv-
ing insightful comments
and suggestions. Here
is Gary’s finished
demo piece. See be-
low for pictures of
member work from
the workshop.
Gary is incredibly
generous in sharing
his knowledge. I
hope he had as
much fun as the at-
tendees did!
Thanks Gary

Mission Statement
Our mission is to provide a comfortable environment in
which artists can learn and benefit from each other’s skills, knowl-
edge, and methods.
Attending our meetings is a great way to meet fellow artists – plus
you can bring a painting or two and have a friendly critique of your
art work. This makes for a great learning experi-
ence! Monthly demos are given by some of the best Portland area
artists and should not be missed. Questions are encouraged during
the demos. They are a great learning experience.
Classes and Workshops
In addition to the FREE demos given at our monthly meetings we
also provide educational workshops throughout the year with a re-
duced tuition to NCAG members.
