Success in negotiation is simple, if we know the basics. Our ability to influence people andoutcomes is directly related to how well we negotiate.
At the end of the two day workshop participants will be more aware of their options in a negotiating
situation, the informed choices that they can make and how to go about negotiating successfully in the
real world.

over 21 years of corporate experience in various capacities sales,
marketing, advertising, etc. and over 14 years of Training and
teaching experience.
Vijay worked in various capacities in Corporate India before
starting his own H.R. & Training consultancy.
Effective Negotiation Skills & Advanced Negotiation Skills
Workshops are his passion - delivered using multiple learning

years Vijay has been involved in training, (conservatively) over
6500 participants on Effective Negotiation Skills & Advanced
Negotiation Skills, from a wide spectrum of organizations. He has

Vijay is also a professor of Negotiation Skills at S.P Jain Institute of
Management & Research Mumbai, where he teaches Negotiation
Skills to Executive MBA students. He is sometimes referred to as a
Negotiation Guru by his students and workshop participants.
It has been Vijay's vision to launch India's first negotiation Institute

Hi Vijay,
Season's greetings to all of you !!! The training on Negotiation Skills conducted in last two days was, to put in one word,
"FABULOUS"!
The following factors, I believe, made the training a great success:
- Non-linear methodology with the consent of the participants. The best part of it was that everything planned, was covered.
- Answers to participants questions were on the mark and given till the participant/s were satisfied.
- The video presentation about the clipping from the movie
It showed an absolutely different scenario of implementing what we learnt. This was an excellent example, away from the normal
common sales example used many a times in other videos, of how one can implement their skill in various scenarios. Also, conveyed
the Message, not just to see movies, but learn from them. I am not sure if anyone else got it, but frankly, it did remind me of this old
habit of mine. (We, kids in my family, had been taught by our elders to learn from movies in childhood.)
- The participation of all participants.
- Personally, for me at least, there were many quotes stated during the course, not directly related to the negotiation skills, which
were inspiring, confidence & will building, and which can help in areas beyond negotiations.
To enhance the sessions more:
- Inclusion of more games and case studies.
- After the game is played by two participants and feedback is given, the same participants must be made to replay to see the
difference and improvements on the spot. This I think will definitely help the participants immediately. I made an attempt ofimproving my part by visualizing it with all feedback given on going on. It helps!
- Maybe a game could be that the faculty is one in the game and throwing more challenges on the other participants. The faculty's
experience will help present tougher challenges to the participants.
These are the few points that I can gather at this moment; I assure that I wont hesitate to write if more strikes my mind in future.

Hi Vijay,
It was really an excellent workshop that we had. It gave us an insight to think, to act, to negotiate and to focus on our goals.
We learnt from it, no doubt but now, we need to apply it in our day to day corporate life.
We know these are skills and they can be developed even then we don't put right efforts towards it and ultimately land up in losing.
I know it is physically difficult for everyone to participate in case studies but if you could prepare some case studies such that everyone will get involved in negotiating, may be grouping in small sizes and then giving same assignments in the groups. This will give an
opportunity for each one of us to speak out.

Dear Vijay Sir,
Beautiful two days ofNegotiation Skill are in the mind and some thoughts like "Will for Negotiation" are carved in the
mind. Here before I have attended few workshops on different skills, but I think this was unique one, designed after long
experience.
I would like to know few tips to make the skills "solid". Normally after such a small workshop, all skills become gaseous after
few days. One practice I have started from the first day of course is to negotiate at maximum possible time of the day and thatalso with the intention.
Is this course typically for IT industry, or do you have similar module designed for manufacturing / engineering industry? I
would like to suggest this course typically for Sales personnel at the engineering industries, where I worked previously.

Thanks much for a real eye opening and empowering session on Negotiations Skills building! I am just glad that I
finally made it to the session after an year's delay.
You wouldn't believe that I have already started using it at work. Just now I came back from a meeting where I was
being compelled to work an extra week than agreed upon. I have been analyzing my performance in the negotiation and my
areas of improvement after that. Thank you, Vijay! You just nailed it into me. Now I plan to use all the opportunities to improve
my negotiation skills.Some areas I felt which could better the workshop :
1) One more additional day would have been really good which would have exposed us to more work outs.
2) Format/Style of the Presentation slides - Making each slide lighter in content
I have started reading the materials you have provided. I will definitely get back to you once I am through with them! (and also
whenever I need the expert's guidance!)
