2017 T R A C K I N G S C H E D U L E

FWOTC TD TDU test was a huge success! Weather was phenomenal with comfortable temperatures and clear skies and lots of dew on the grass. 5 PASSES! 2 TDU and 3 TD!! TDUs ran at Dupont Hospital Campus and we had a variety of dogs entered including a GSD on TDU 1, Standard Poodle on TDU 2 with a Junior Handler - PASS!, a Golden Retriever on TDU 3, and a Flat Coated Retriever on TDU 4 – PASS! Over to Concordia Theological Seminary for the 3 TD tracks. Field Spaniel on TD 1 – PASS! Rottweiler on TD 2 PASS! a Bull Mastiff on TD 3 PASS! Our judges Debbie Maheu and Marilyn Johnson put in some great tracks for our exhibitors. Back to Dupont for lunch and wrap up. I cannot say enough thanks to those who give their time to make these tests a success. Many of our volunteers give up their weekend to give folks a chance to get their tracking titles, and we are there in the early morning hours before the sun comes up to get tracks in and get set up. Some of our volunteers are club members and have come out for many years to help, others are brand new and come out to see what tracking is all about. In addition to our members, we had folks travel from Indianapolis, Michigan and Ohio to come out and help. Big shout out to our volunteers who come out and make it all happen. Kelly Urick laid TDU 1 and TDU 4, Maugh Vail laid TDU 2, Barb Croy laid TDU 3, Gail Henrie laid TD1, Debby Lynn laid TD 2 and Marlene Hill laid TD 3. Barb Croy was test Secretary and Chair, Pam Johnson Head Tracklayer, Robin Katen and Cathy Martin took care of food, Pete Johnson was judges driver, Jenna Janda and Ed Presnall got the gallery where they needed to be, Rick Reiff helped with getting TD track layers back and forth at Concordia, and George Sype got our exhibitors at the end of their tracks at Dupont.

“Traveler” Jan 1, 2005 – March 14, 2017

After 12 + years I had to say goodbye to my best friend Trav. He was the most amazing dog I have ever had the privilege of sharing my life with. Together we achieved Obedience, Nose Work, and with the help of Kate, Conformation titles. He truly lived up to his name…..he would go anywhere, anytime and was willing to do anything I asked of him (sometimes with an attitude but that was ok)!I helped bring him into this world and I held him in my arms as he left. He spared me from having to make a decision by going gracefully and with dignity, for that I am beyond thankful. He was truly my “heart dog” and will forever hold a special place in my heart. I look forward to the day when I can laugh at the memories instead of cry at the loss.

I would like to remind all club members that the best way to resolve any concerns or issues would be to direct them to the appropriate club officer. From now on, I would like to stress that all questions, issues, concerns and suggestions for public night, club night, and agility night be directed to the DOT for the respective day. The DOT will then work with class instructors or president/board members as needed to resolve issues. This method of communication will help keep all issues clearly identified, address those issues, and maintain the appropriate line of communication to all club officers. Furthermore, if you have questions with regard to the following items, I have indicated the current contacts.
