Curriculum As you may be aware the state of North Carolina has

adopted the common core curriculum. We will be using the common core for the 2013-2014 school year. These common core objectives effect every curriculum area. There will be many changes in what is being taught at each grade level. If you would like more information on specific directions please visit www.corestandards.org for a complete expiation for what is being taught.

Last year Weatherstone become a STEM school. STEM stands for science, technology, engineering and mathematics. We will incorporate STEM in many of our lessons. We also will have STEM Fridays which will be facilitated by our PTA.

We will use the NCSU engineering model to facilitate teaching.
