Open Health Assistant
The Open Health Assistant platform provides a set of remote social-healthcare service
solutions that are personalized for patients who require some type of personalized monitoring or
help, both at and away from the home.
Open Health Assistant helps in the daily lives
of people with chronic care needs, such as
assisted living for elderly or dependent
persons, facilitating mobile assistance services
that cut down on visits to hospitals and doctor
house calls, as well as assistance provided by
emergency services, minimizing travel and the
cost of public healthcare services.
It also provides services that facilitate remote
assistance of those people who are
responsible for caring for a patient, whether that
be a family member, caregiver, or social worker.
The immediate result is an increase in the quality of life of patients and a decrease in dependence
on healthcare centers and on family members or caregivers.
Open Health Assistant is based on an R&D project financed by the Ministry of Industry, Tourism,
and Trade (MITandT).
Open Health Assistant has been developed using standard systems and open architectures that
are widely used and that promote:
• A technological platform that offers a catalog of useful services for the entire Patient
tracking environment: Patient, Family Members, Caregivers, Doctors.
• Multichannel access to services, either through web portals, DTT, mobile platforms, etc.
• Integration between different biomedical and home-automation devices.
• Interoperability between different Health Care systems, compliance with communication
standards.
• Modular: the client uses what it needs and integrates it into its systems
