Pre-orientation Gaia Radio Call - Financial Permaculture
5 Principals of a Solidarity Economy importance of US social forum
Learned Maestro processEnsured I had web connectionFelt prepared for orientation
Pre-orientationTransition call - Transition effectiveness
Grassroots initiatives of creative people can influence Global BP.
received diagnose tool for resolving (TI) issues.
Orientation startedModule 1 - Connection,
Resilient Documentation, Action Learning
Introduction to Gaia U and Action Learning, deconstruct-reconstruct, design process, Resilient Doc. Reflection
A good space for calls is important. The documentation side of action learning was the main component lacking in my own studies
A smooth transition for me and was encouraging to get my firstglimpse of how Gaia U functions
Program Design - Support Systems Managing time managing promises
Wheel of Life, Rapid Prototyping Agile systems, Eisenhower Matrix mindmaps, Scrum-Pause, Support
I get ahead of myself. I “deconstruct - reconstruct” without documenting.
made Wheel of Life Improved time managementadded tools to my toolbox
Mapping support network I have an amazing network of skilled friends and family who are very open
A great reference to build on and use when I need help or ideas think and listen
Reviewing other associates work
My peers are also my teacherswe are a portion of the epistemiccommunity
The mini manuals associates created are a great contributionI am still inspired by this work
Life and Career Review (OP1a)
OP1a - Learning Mahara Collecting evidence of my experiences
My life is rich and full of stories and amazing connections.Presenting such things is difficult, more tools for my toolbox.
Introduction to using Mahara e-portfolio OPs and the review process - a good start on my e-portfolio
Learning Intention and Pathway Design (OP1b)
OP1b - Planning my year, connecting my long-term goals with my next steps
Be imaginative and realistic at the same time. Creating a document by looking foreword allows for deeper reflection when you look back
A good base map of my year which is guiding and yet flexible. A thorough document to trackmy skillflexing
Creation of my vision statement (OP1b)
Putting words to deep feeling is powerful and transformative
This statement is a tool with many functions. It guides me when I am questioning which direction to take
Taught earthen oven workshopYestermorrow Design/Build school (OP3)
Solutions are at hand - don't stressAccount for extra time in workshops Always bring layers and remind othersto be prepared for weatherUse project-fixes as part of workshop
Increased in competence to teach, another successful co-teaching with Mark Krawczyk, more experience with YM school, another successful oven build
Took a week long intensive Timber Framing course (OP2)
Work sites can be organized calm and flow smoothly with unityfocused unified work ‘old world style’ can “accomplish the impossible” teachers can be fun and still teach a serious technical course.
A beautiful seasonal bathroom for a youth circus, more hand tool and building skills, more confidence in building, connection with a new network
Multi-purpose hedgerow planting Mark´s land (OP2)
Even experienced Permaculture practitioners don´t have all the answers/design solutions. Innovation is a partof this field
Hand on experience planting a multi-purpose hedgerow, building of a mini gravity irrigation dam and a deeper connection to my teacher
Transformative Action Learning Certificate (TALC)Learning and Unlearning,
Design thinking to change the world
understanding knowledge creation deconstruct/reconstruct, validation building-on, getting feedback
A clarification of the process of how we can self-forage effectively and contribute to the knowledgecommons
My learning constitution (Kolbs kite) intro to patrix - re-evaluation, engaged pedagogy, deeper understanding of Design process
OP Support Call w/Jennifer English Charles and Claire
Gaia Radio Call - OP support Deeper understanding of what they are looking for in an OP, how to use the review document as a template. How to do a peer review
Small call - good engagementled me to reach out to Charles who is now my most steady guild buddy
Taught Introduction to Permaculture (OP3)
I have knowledge to share and I am a natural teacher - my lackof self confidence is without basis
Engaged students and brought PC principles into their life. Increased my confidence in teaching
Thinking about worldviews Readings on worldview withexercises to identify my own and those of the patrix
Articulating these views can lead to evolution. By assessing world views we can identify who working with will be easier
A deeper and more articulatedunderstanding of worldview
Growing leaderful communities Articulation of distinct forms of leadership including leaderful and active follower
I have always believed in the leaderful model I just didn’t know what it was called - Being a support of a leader is as important as being a leader
A new understanding of the different models of leadership and a new vision to where we are headed with group dynamics
Continuing work (3rd year) on Kailash Food Forest with micro projects (OP2)
I learned more about my design process, my inner workings and using the problem to find the solution
Improvement of Kailash Ashramgrounds and facilities, a deeperconfidence in my abilities
Week long Generation Now Leadership training at Metta Earth Institute (OP3)
I already have many leadership skills only lack the self-confidence of ´knowing it´
A deep experience of group dynamics,a possible new home and eco-village family-life
Creating fabulous OPs looking deeper into the structure and components of OPs
documenting the process is as important as documenting the project itself. The review form is also an outline
A deeper understanding of the form of my learning pathway and the importance of the tools offered at the orientation
Orientation and TALC finished August 6
Creating OP2 Creating OP2 - Skillflex on the Transformative Pathway
My method of many small projectsis very difficult to present in thisOP format. I am overly detail oriented
A good base in using MaharaA new knowledge of HTMLMy first project OP
Creating OP3 Creating OP3 - Leaderful Leadership
Journaling is one if not the most powerful tool in my documentation tool box
A clearer understanding of the OP creation process. A great OP full of useful reference material
Designing and building a Passive Solar Panel (OP4)
Rapid prototyping and outlining are useful in saving time and improving the outcome
A successful build-install of a passive solar panel, improved a place I was living for 3 years, strengthened my design-build skills
Creating OP4 Creating OP4 - Passive Solar Panel
Being concise and getting the important information in may leave out some details yet it makes your work accessible and is an important skill needed for this work
A much better understanding of the components of an OP, my best OP to date, lots of positive feedback.
Reflecting on and documenting my year while living at UNO community in Tulum, Mexico
Step by step we are given the experiences to move foreword. Reflecting on these steps is a vitalstep in realizing your intention
The base work for my OP5: BP - reviewing others workAn outline and design A basic timeline of events unlearnings and outcomes
On Pause My coputer crashed while traveling Mexico (OP5)
Resilient documentation not only saves your documents it sustains you in your work.
I arrived at a friends house in Guatemala and continued on his Mac. Having backed up all my work on USB I was able to continue where I left off.
On Pause Creating OP5 - Learning review
With knowledeg creation, (generating all this material in an e-porfolio) means review and curation (maintenance) are important cycles to schedule in sufficient time
Going on pause for two months (so far) led to deeper reflection and thus deeper discoveries of what my year has ment to me. In turn it made the process of creating OP5 rich and smooth.
