MINUTES FOR 7/28/13 MEETING (sorry for the delay!)

Meeting began at 7:10

35 members in attendance

Robert Vanhook made a motion to estab-lish an election committee of 9 to establish options for members to vote on next meet-ing. (Council positions, mission statements, group names, and by laws) after much discussion it passed 35/0.

Members of the committee will meet at an undisclosed location aug. 1 at 8pm for de-liberation.

Chris hogue spoke about our need to come together as a community and encouraged members to “cut the B.S., get out of the closet, get out of the house, and come to-gether for a cause”

Bylaws introduced by Devon Davasher and read by Eli Hicks (located in a link on this page) were submitted for committee review.

Alan vines, Martha Ross, and Trevor Nel-son’s mission statements were read and are under committee review.

Robert’s motion was refined and re ex-plained.

A committee consisting of Eli hicks, Anne

Jones, Chris Hogue, Eric Eslinger, Larry Paris, Shon DeArmon, Conrad Lewis, Trev-or Nelson, and Robert Vanhook was elected as per Robert’s motion.

Our guest speaker Cornelius Mabin of several prominent lgbt nonprofits and recipient of the flame thrower award in Little Rock was intro-duced by Shon DeArmon.

Cornelius advised our group to:

create a small nuclear group to develop our group’s agenda

AGREE TO DISAGREE

Look into the affordable care act. There are approximately 6k individuals not receiving the care they deserve, because of lack of insur-ance.

Keep our ideas realistic

FOCUS ON FUND RAISING. Even our meet-ings at the church costs money. Lights air conditioning water ect. In fact we would like to consider donating a few dollars to the church for the use of their utilities next meeting. Thank you Joe Sturgill and Alan Clark!

Pride stickers donated by Tab Bryant, and Eli Hicks were sold as our first small scale fund-raising end ever.

I’m proud to say out group has its first $12 to report!!!! Special thanks to Conrad Lewis, Brandon Blevins, Devin Dunlap,Neil Thoma, and Alan vines for their purchases.
