2015 Ontario Science Centre
Odour Management Conference & Technology Showcase Venue: Ontario Science Center 14 ‐ 15 September 2015, Toronto
The Organizing Committee welcomes you to the second global conference on environmental odour management. The Odour Management Conference and Technology Showcase OMCTS conference series has established itself as the principal international conference on environmental odour assessment, mitigation and regulation. Each year 2 conferences will be held around the world to bring new ideas and technologies to the field of environmental odour management. In May of 2015, the OMCTS team organized in Ajman, UAE the first and largest odour conference in the Middle East. More than 130 attendees registered for the full day conference that included speakers from Canada, France, and UAE. Panel discussions were carried out between odour experts and municipalities of Ajman and UAE Ministry of Environment. We have an exciting two days planned of the 2015 OMCTS conference in Toronto. The conference will be attended by odour experts, industry, municipalities, laboratories, and regulators from every corner of the globe including Italy, Australia, Germany, Netherland, Canada, and USA. We are very excited to share the knowledge of these esteemed colleagues and to learn about the newest methodologies and technologies in the field of environmental odours. There will be 34 presentations including 6 distinguished keynote speakers and 2 panel discussions. We have built in plenty of time for renewing old friendships, making new friends, and networking. This year’s venue is the prestigious Ontario Science Center, Toronto Canada, fittingly a museum of interactive displays designed to promote and celebrate the advancement in science and technology. Future conferences are already being organized for 2016 in South America and Asia with participation of local governments, industry, universities, and municipalities as well as international consulting firms and odour laboratories. In closing, we thank you for participating in OMCTS and
we hope you enjoy this event.

Bonno Koers
The CEO and Founder of Azzuro (and previously of Bioway), Bonno
Koers, received his Civil Engineering degree in 1985. After graduation,
he joined a Dutch Waste Management Group, where his work
focused on biological purification of air and water. Here, he built his
first biofilters (the largest so far with an airflow of 1 million cfm),
applied for his first patent, and experimented with new wastewater
treatment systems. The experience gained led him to believe that
groundbreaking improvements could be made in biological air
abatement technology. Bonno was the first to understand the
advantages of using synthetic structured media, applied in modular
biofilters. In 1997 he patented the application of synthetic structured
media, followed by an upgrade in 1998 for the same. This patented
technology enabled him to control the bacteria and the process in the
biofilters. Since then close to 400 of Azzuro’s biological systems have
been installed all over the world to a varied customer base. Azzuro's
latest development, Spacious Wire Pac Media (patented in 2008), has
further optimized the emission reductions and the economic
advantages of biological solutions.
