Buhler Sortex is a world leader in innovation and delivery of sorting solutions to the global food and non-food processing industries. They design, manufacture and supply optical sorting machines to over 100 countries throughout the world. Winner of the best UK process plant in 2013, Entek International Ltd manufactures PE battery separators which are used in auto-motive batteries. The plant exports 100% of everything it produces. The production lines run 24x7, continually mixing and extruding materials into a continuous polythene sheet, which is then subjected to various highly specialised in process treatments. The Toyota Manufacturing UK (TMUK) site as Deeside, North Wales, is a centre of excel-lence within the Toyota Group. This site is the first Toyota factory outside Japan to have the honour of building a hybrid vehicle en-gine. The power plant, which is integral to the Hybrid Synergy Drive system, is wholly pro-duced at the North Wales facility. Raw alu-minium is smelted and cast on-site, prior to machining assembly and testing of the fin-ished unit. The finished engines are then shipped to Toyota’s Burnaston car plant in

Derbyshire for installation.
