The Scott Wells Memorial Fund hosted its first “Malibu Rocks”
concer t event over the weekend, drawing a fun crowd and plenty of
musicians who came out to abide by the theme, “Celebrate Summer... Celebrate Life!”
Wells died of colon cancer in 2012
and his mother, Lori Gray, created the fund and event in his honor. The event was held at the Malibu Jewish Center & Synagogue.
A Malibu morning
Today I will wear a flower in my hair,
Saturate my senses in sweet scents of summer,
Indulge in the silence of a Malibu morning.
Hawks swoop and soar, skimmimg the skies,
Wedding veil clouds drift lazy and languid,
Gossamer sounds of butterflies dreaming,
Soft, Silky wings of bright living light.
Skittering lizards scoot hither and thither.
Explosion of flowers, trail tendrils of fragrance,
In a golden glitter the world awakes.
Touched in worship on a Malibu morning.
