LOG LINE When a former boxing champ makes a deal with a crooked businessman, unexpected consequences force him to make a choice between his integrity and his ambitions. SYNOPSIS After going down in the fifth round, boxer Bud Gordon bowed out of the limelight. Now residing in a fixer-upper apartment in New Jersey with his girlfriend, Bud longs for his former Manhattan glory. In an effort to get back in the game, he makes a deal with a crooked restauranteur. But quick schemes rarely bring easy pay-offs and as the consequences of his business negotiations unfold, Bud has to make a choice between his integrity and his ambitions. PRINCIPAL CAST BIOS Corey Stoll – “Bud” Corey Stoll last appeared in David Fincher's Netflix series HOUSE OF CARDS as 'Congressman Peter Russo,' for which he was Golden Globe nominated. He also played 'Ernest Hemingway' in Woody Allen's MIDNIGHT IN PARIS. This performance earned him an Independent Spirit Award nomination. Corey was also seen in Sundance competition film C.O.G. based on the David Sedaris short story, SALT with Angelina Jolie, and as the co-lead in NBC series LAW AND ORDER; LOS ANGELES with Alfred Molina. Earlier this year, he appeared in the feature film NON-STOP with Liam Neeson. Corey is currently shooting the lead role in Guillermo Del Toro's THE STRAIN for FX. The series debuts in June 2014. Corey's first love is the theater. After graduating from NYU with an MFA in 2003, he landed his first professional gig, Lynn Nottage's INTIMATE APPAREL playing Viola Davis's love interest (Drama Desk Award Nominated in NY, Drama Critics' Circle Award in Los Angeles.) His most recent stage credit was the Broadway revival of Arthur Miller's A VIEW FROM THE BRIDGE opposite Liev Schreiber and Scarlett Johansson in 2010. Stoll resides in Brooklyn. Billy Crudup – “J.J.” Equally memorable on the stage and screen, BILLY CRUDUP has earned critical accolades throughout his career for his consistently lauded performances. Crudup is currently on Broadway starring alongside Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart and Shuler Hensley in both Samuel Beckett’s Waiting for Godot and Harold Pinter’s No Man’s Land. Both plays are directed by Sean Mathias and will run through March 30th. Crudup can also be seen on screen in Guillaume Canet’s crime thriller, Blood Ties co-starring Clive Owen, Mila Kunis and Marion Cotillard. The film premiered at both the 2013 Cannes Film Festival and Toronto International Film Festival.

Crudup made his motion picture debut in Barry Levinson’s Sleepers, opposite Robert De Niro, Brad Pitt and Jason Patric, followed by Woody Allen’s Everyone Says I Love You, and Pat O’Connor’s Inventing the Abbotts. Crudup played the leading role in critically acclaimed Without Limits, the story of legendary long distance runner Steven Prefontaine, for which he won the National Board of Review Award for Breakthrough Performance of the Year.

He then starred in the critically acclaimed Jesus’ Son opposite Samantha Morton, Holly Hunter and Denis Leary, which earned him an Independent Spirit Award nomination, and he reunited with Jennifer Connelly in the acclaimed Waking the Dead. Crudup also starred in Cameron Crowe’s Academy Award®-winning Almost Famous along with Frances McDormand and Kate Hudson.

This year on the big screen, Ireland starred in the tender, comical love story, Sparrows Dance opposite Paul Sparks (Boardwalk Empire). He is currently developing two films: The Phenom, a baseball themed film written by Buschel, produced by Lawrence Inglee, to star Johnny Simmons and Paul Giamatti; and Mu, based on Maura O'Halloran's “Pure Heart, Enlightened Mind: The Life and Letters of an Irish Zen Saint". His other films include The Missing Person, which starred Oscar-nominee Michael Shannon and premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. Distributed by Strand Releasing, the film was named in over seven Best Film Lists of 2009 and Buschel was nominated for a Gotham Award for Breakthrough Director. Noah previously wrote and directed Neal Cassady, starring Tate Donovan and Oscar-nominee Amy Ryan, which was released by IFC Films; and Bringing Rain, starring Adrian Grenier and Paz de la Huerta, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival. Buschel was born in Philadelphia in 1978, and grew up in New York City's Greenwich Village. He spent some time as a contributing editor for Tricycle Magazine and still writes for Hammer to Nail and Filmmaker Magazine. Susan A. Stover - Producer An independent film producer for over 15 years, Susan was the recipient of the 1998 Mark Silverman Fellowship, a grant sponsored by the Sundance Film Institute awarded annually to one producer, and the 1999 Ralph Lauren Independent Spirit Producer Award from the FIND, formerly known as IFP/West. Susan has worked with a number of outstanding independent directors. She was an Associate Producer of Todd Solondz’s Welcome to the Dollhouse, winner of the 1996 Grand Jury Prize at Sundance, the Associate Producer of Larry Fessenden’s Habit, winner of the 1997 Independent Spirit Award for “Someone to Watch,” and the Associate Producer of Kelly Reichardt’s River of Grass, which premiered at the Sundance and Berlin Film Festivals. Susan produced Lisa Cholodenko’s debut feature, High Art, which screened at the 1998 Sundance Film Festival and was an official selection at the 1998 Directors’ Fortnight at Cannes. Susan also produced Ode, a Super 8 movie by Kelly Reichardt, which premiered at the 1999 Venice Film Festival, and Brad Anderson’s Happy Accidents, starring Marisa Tomei and Vincent D’Onofrio, which premiered at the 2000 Sundance Film Festival. Her other producing credits include Patrick Stettner’s The Business of Strangers, starring Stockard Channing and Julia Stiles, Lisa Cholodenko’s Laurel Canyon, starring Frances McDormand and Christian Bale, and Alex Steyermark’s One Last Thing…, starring Cynthia Nixon and Ethan Hawke. She produced Aram Rappaport’s feature film Syrup, based on the cult novel of the same title, and starring Amber Heard and Kellan Lutz. Her latest feature, Glass Chin starring Corey Stoll and Billy Crudup, was directed by Noah Buschel (The Missing Person). Projects in development include S.E. “Interpreter of Maladies” and Elliot Thomson’s Indestructible. Her producing banner, HeadQuarters, is based in Brooklyn’s Williamsburg neighborhood. In addition to Susan’s film work, she has served as a board member of several national organizations including the IFP (Executive Committee, officer), ChameckiLerner (a modern dance company) and as a trustee to her alma mater, Mary Baldwin College. Susan also has a law degree from Washington & Lee University and practiced law as a trial lawyer in NYC for many years. Louise Runge - Producer Louise Runge founded ONEZERO Films in 2008, following an eight year career as a post-production executive in Los Angeles. ONEZERO is an independent production company specializing in post-production management and delivery. On the production front Runge is currently executive producing RIDE, written and directed by Helen Hunt, along with Sandbar Pictures, as well as ALEX OF VENICE, directed by Chris Messina, with Electric City Entertainment. Runge produced GLASS CHIN starring Billy Crudup and Corey Stoll last winter in New York. Both ALEX OF VENICE and GLASS CHIN will premiere at Tribeca Film Festival this year. In 2012 Runge produced TWENTY-EIGHT HOTEL ROOMS written and directed by Matt Ross; premiering at Sundance Film Festival and distributed by Oscilloscope Laboratories. Also last year Runge produced SPARROWS DANCE written and directed by Noah Buschel, starring Paul Sparks and Marin Ireland and winning best feature at Austin Film Festival. Other producing credits include I AM BAD, a creepy offbeat feature thriller and THE FOUR-FACED LIAR, a charming modern romance that won the HBO award for best first Feature at Outfest 2010. ONEZERO Films’ recent post credits include THE PLACE BEYOND THE PINES, CHERNOBYL DIARIES, SHARK NIGHT 3D, UNIVERSAL SOLDIER 3D and DEATH RACE INFERNO. ONEZERO are also hired by PARTICIPANT MEDIA to post manage their feature documentary slate of films. Prior to founding ONEZERO, Runge was the Post Production Manager at YARI FILM GROUP, where she implemented all aspects of domestic and international delivery for 15 feature films over a two-year period. From there she was recruited by UPLOAD FILMS, providing post production management and finishing funds to independent films, and to producing low-budget, independent feature films. During her time at UPLOAD she post supervised nine films in eighteen months, seven of which premiered at major festivals. Runge grew up in England where she always had a passion for theatre and film. She discovered California on a year abroad studying at UC Berkeley and after completing her Masters degree in Film and Television at Bristol University, she moved to Los Angeles permanently. ONEZERO recently wrapped production on RIDE, written and directed by Helen Hunt, staring Luke Wilson, Brenton Thwaites and Helen Hunt; ALEX OF VENICE directed by Chris Messina, starring Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Don Johnson and Derek Luke, which will premiere at the 2014 Tribeca Film Festival.

Housman’s most recent film is Noah Buschel’s GLASS CHIN staring Corey Stoll, Billy Crudup, Yul Vasquez and Marin Ireland will be making its premiere in competition at the 2014 Tribeca Film Festival. This is the second Bushel film Samantha has produced. The first being SPARROWS DANCE, which won best feature at the 2012 Austin Film Festival and was released by Tribeca Films.

Housman's other films include: Matt Ross’s directorial debut 28 HOTEL ROOMS starring Chris Messina and Marin Ireland, which had its world premiere at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival and was released by Oscilloscope Laboratories; THE FOUR-FACED LIAR, written by Marja Lewis-Ryan and directed by Jacob Chase, which premiered in competition at the Slamdance film festival, and won the HBO audience award for best first feature at the Outfest Film Festival in 2011.

Prior to joining ONEZERO, Housman spent valuable years working on set as an Assistant Director and Production Coordinator gaining on-the-ground experience before transitioning to producing and post-supervising. She got her first taste of the business working for top-notch literary agent Nancy Nigrosh. Housman moved from Boston to LA at the age of 16.

The only passion that rivals Housman's love of filmmaking is her unwavering devotion to the New England Patriots. Ryan Samul - Director of Photography Ryan Samul is a cinematographer known for his stunningly visual independent films. Samul’s style has helped him develop strong relationships with multiple directors. Praised for his work with Noah Buschel on his films “The Missing Person” starring Amy Ryan and Michael Shannon, “Sparrows Dance”, and “Glass Chin” as well as his longstanding collaborative relationship with Jim Mickle producing such films as “Mulberry Street”, “Stake Land”, “We Are What We Are” and the highly praised “Cold in July.” Samul’s films have been featured at festivals such as: Sundance, Toronto International, SXSW, Tribeca, and Cannes. In addition to his films, Samul’s music video and commercial work has attracted names such as H&M, Def Jam, Caliber Media, Capitol Records, Ghost Robot, and Sony. Jenn Ruff – Editor Jenn Ruff is an established editor and video artist based in Brooklyn. She has worked on numerous award winning films, including Kelly Reichardt's Old Joy, Alfonso Cuaron's Y Tu Mama Tambien, Kim Pierce's Boys Don't Cry, and Lisa Cholodenko's High Art. She recently edited Glass Chin, Noah Buschel's new film starring Corey Stoll and Billy Crudup as well as an upcoming lesbian horror film starring Gaby Hoffman. She is slated to direct a feature doc with Camille Paglia and Parker Posey in the summer of 2014 and a narrative film entitled Lila Rose in the fall of 2014. Jennifer also exhibits her video art in galleries in NY, LA, Tokyo, and London. She has been a professor at NYU's Graduate School of Film in the Tisch School of the Arts since 2002.

Maya Sigel - Production Designer Maya Sigel is a Production Designer with experience in feature films, commercials, music videos, and web content. She holds a B.A. in Comparative Literature and Film Studies from Brandeis University and completed her M.F.A. in Production Design from the American Film Institute in 2007. Her feature film credits include Tribeca Film Festival favorites TiMER (2009) and BEWARE THE GONZO (2010). In 2011, GUN HILL ROAD was an official selection of the Sundance Film Festival and was released in theaters across the country. That same year, Maya designed five commercials for a Google campaign that won the Gold Prize at the Cannes Lions International Festival. A frequent collaborator with director Jim Mickle (Stake Land, We Are What We Are, Cold in July), she also recently worked as a Costume Stylist for select acts in Cirque Du Soleil's world premiere production of "Zarkana" at Radio City Music Hall. She has also designed the upcoming film, "Revenge of the Green Dragons," directed by Wai-keung Lau and Andrew Loo, and executive produced by Martin Scorsese. Lois Drabkin – Casting Director/Executive Producer Lois Drabkin is a New York-based casting director and producer who has cast over 30 independent features, including NIGHT CATCHES US, THE MISSING PERSON and THE DISCOVERERS. Lois has also worked extensively as an Associate Casting Director, on projects including: WAR OF THE WORLDS, SALT, PUBLIC ENEMIES, and the acclaimed HBO series, THE WIRE. She has been nominated by the Casting Society of America for an Artios Award for Outstanding Achievement in Casting for the features THE MISSING PERSON and NIGHT CATCHES US, and the short film GUNNY.
