The owners and developers of
One Nine Elms have submitted
a planning application to
LB Wandsworth for the
redevelopment of Market Towers
in Vauxhall. The proposals are for
the replacement of the existing
buildings with two taller buildings
of 58 and 43 storeys.
They include:
- 491 residential apartments
including aordable housing
- 4* hotel
- 71,128 sq t o oce space
- 3 commercial units that could be a
restaurant, cae or shops- 59% o the site will be available to
the public as open space
- Public access to the very top o
the tallest building
The buildings have been designed
to the highest possible architectural
quality. It replaces the 22 storey
oce tower built in the 1970s.

Thank you to residents who have
taken part in our consultation to date
which includes our public exhibition
in September, a stand at the Vauxhall
and Nine Elms Expo and meetings
with local groups.
The most important issue according
to residents who responded to
our survey was the design o the
ground foor public realm. The
second highest priority was a
desire or the existing building to
be replaced with a structure o the
highest possible design values and
architectural quality.
Following our consultation, we
believe our proposals deliver
on the ambitious aim o creating
an urban oasis at the heart o
Vauxhall and a ocal point or uture
developments, delivering new
homes, jobs and local amenities as
well as exciting new cultural and
community spaces.
Public exhibition
We are holding an exhibition on the
planning application and we hope
that you can come along talk to the
project team and ask any questions
you might have.
