This is a real story, not some thought up story nor a hearsay story, rather, this is my story of how, in one night I struck

gold round about my exams, and I pray that as you read, an imprint of the principles I operated in (and those that I might

fail to write) will be revealed to your Soul, and a permanent imprint made on your Spirit. And well also, that I, the writewill grow better and attain higher success.

It was one week to the exams that we all had been waiting for, it was a compulsory National Examination and we’ve bee

preparing for it for three years, unusually, most people felt relaxed about it – both those that earlier had not been serious

about education and those that were, probably because we took ourselves as a family, anyway, as the days drew closer to

this D-day, the tension began building, the following paragraphs would give you a detailed account of my preparation fo

this exam, analysizing every action I took worth of noting.

Day 7

I had a detailed academical vision concerning this prestigious exam, I conceived this vision 2 years before the exam but

the fire and passion for this vision was still burning hot as it was when conceived. My vision was to have all A’s in all

Subjects I would write. Once I pictured it, I never doubted it, though I greatly believed in what Les Brown once said

“Shoot for the moon, even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars”

But I was not to land on any stars now, I would shoot for the moon and land on the moon.

Now a week to this Examination, my actions were directed by the burning passion from this vision.

LessonAlways have a vision before you pursue a mission, because it’s the vision that will sustain your pursuit.

DAY 6

Though I had this strong passion within me, I kind of felt satisfied with myself, probably in the confusion of what to rea

I mean, we’ve so prepared for this examination that now that its here, we don’t know where to base and finalize our

preparation. Every subject having its notes written over a span of 3 years (and that’s big), I didn’t know where to start

from in he conclusion of my preparation, so I kind of felt relaxed whenever I thought about the examination because I’v

been on of the best students in all subjects over the past 3 years.

Lesson

Never be overconfident in your ability, that you were doesn’t mean that you will be. Let you confidence sprout up fromthe knowing that you have operated in the same principles as you did when you were and those principles are hard workand prayer .

In Every examination, what counts is the confidence in what you’ve read, and what you’ve read. The major component

for success is what you’ve read because you could enter a exam with confidence in your previous knowledge about the

subject with out a revision and you would get an A – After a very long time of trying to remember what to write and we

know that in every examination, the duration is pretty short to all this, so practically, you’ll end up landing on the stars.

But what revision does is to paint afresh what you already know so that there would be an easier retrieval when you need

it, pre-study and revision are both essential and work hand-in-hand with success, don’t expect success when you’ve not

earlier studied, everything will be new to you during the revision.

DAY 5 & 4

The days went by, with me acting on this self confidence and on this vision. This means that , I was filled with confusio

and baseless confidence whenever I tried to revise, but, in school, we were having our final preparatory studies by our

teachers’ (revision period) so I was really focused and grabbed everything I could grab during these occasions.

DAY 3

This was the day of the turn-over. Now three days to the examination which was to be started on a Monday – thus today

was a Saturday, the events of today really proved to me that God orders the step of a man was has a vision. I left the hou

quite early in the morning and went to one of my favourite places; the Market, that’s were all the books of every kind arconcentrated at, and I didn’t just go there to waste my time, I had a specific trader who was my personal trader (I respec

him a lot), and looking through the numerous books which he had, I said to him “do you have any book for my *****examination revision?”, He said yes, and gave me a dozen of booklets on all the subjects I was to write, these booklets

contained all the areas of interests of this examination amongst the vast topics we’ve treated in school, I was happy abou

that, but it didn’t stop here, my trader kind of said something like “Am going to surprise you”, and he left me in his shop

alone – as usual, and returned few minutes later with a book that changed everything. It was the book containing all the

previous questions of this examination and their answers in a simple readable way, so I had – a complete revision guide

and an accumulation of the previous questions to revise with. Although they were little costly, I didn’t care, because

somebody once said;

“If you think wisdom is expensive, try out ignorance”So I paid the one I could afford, and rushed back home to get reinforcement, when I returned I purchased the rest, instea

of heading home I went to my Church (Dominion City), I really don’t have a reason for this but it looks like God was

ordering my steps in order to give the first fruit of my revision to Him – This is of a great spiritual significance.

After solving some few questions in church, I headed back home, and it was like my passion was re-ignited.

LessonA vision without a supporter will not be realized, and God, the King of the world tells us to cast all our goals to Him andHe will cause them to succeed, this is not only the survival factor for a vision, but also the succeeding factor of whatever

you want to do.

Always have a guideline for your revision, especially when it’s numerous. Prioritize, pin-point the topics that are likely t

come out and give more attention, and also you could also pin-point the topics you don’t really know and study them

more, anyway, prioritize. But for my situation, the best prioritization for my revision was to be based on the syllables an

the major topics this examination was to test its candidates’ knowledge in. Every Examination is aimed at testing a

particular knowledge out of the vast topics you’ve learnt, it’s only wise to properly revise these topics (which are reveal

in the syllables) during your final preparation. Like I always say;

“Between two examination candidates spending the same amount of hours in preparation, the best would be the better and more careful prioritizer amongst the two – that is if the time for revision is greatly limited.”

Day 2

I was busy with my typewriter, practicing with it and falling in love with it. I just had to learn it, because my success in i

would add to my scores in my Business Studies examination which was the first subject we were having. The

Examination was scheduled in such a way that we had the practicals first, then the theory, and fortunately, we had onlythe Typewriting practicals on the first day and I had all the time (2 days roughly) to get in love with my typewriter. I spe

my hours working on it, understanding it, troubleshooting it and learning advanced typing mechanisms on it, and I just fready for this.

Lesson

The timetable for any examination should be the prioritization tool adopted by any meticulous prioritizer because they

show you how the examination would be taken, therefore, giving you a proper line up of the subjects you have to deal

with in their sequential order so that you’ll not be confused as to what subject to revise first during your revision. Only o

a limited time do not start preparing from the last subject up, but rather, from the first subject down.

Fall in love – this means completely understand – what you’re doing.

Day 1

As far as I can remember, this was the earliest time I arrived school throughout the whole examination period, probably

because it was all practicals (dealing with your hand) than theoretical (dealing with your mind), so I could afford to havebrief chat with my friends and class mates before the examination.

Soon the exams began, we all settled down, and in a space of 20 minutes, were instructed to type down some sort of 4

paragraphed letter. If your familiar with the typewriter, that would required quite a level of skill, as about 5 minutes wou

be taken off your time during your typewriter set-up (lots of protocols to observe), so your left with roughly 15 minutes

get this letter down. The second thing about the typewriter is the hard mechanical keys that sap out lots of energy from

you and thus slowens you down, but I was already used to all these events and by the end of the 20 minutes, I was 2 line

left to finish, with almost no mistake made on my sheet.

LessonLove whatever you do, that is how you’ll get through it even when people are crying and falling off.

Day 1 continued

I headed back home, and revised all day, we were having 2 subjects the following day. I took a brief stop and

had my meal, and returned. Now how I was revision was not with a lesson teacher (as most people rely onn –

this is because, using a lesson teachers limit your ability to read wide, and when they are done teaching you feyour ready to reach the moon, but your not – how I revised was simple, I didn’t go through all the topics we

learnt all those three years, in fact, I don’t remember actually opening my notebooks during those revision day

rather, I carefully studied this Past Questions and answers, and which ever question I found unusually difficultand time-consuming I would go back and completely study about it in those Revision Booklets that I bought

(amazing they were mighty comprehensive and thorough and contained all the topics in the syllable) this was

how I revised not only on this day but on every other day. This technique was given to me on inspiration fromGod, and it was fun, this technique was also used in my absence of the syllable booklet for the Examination.

I continued this way, studying all the past questions of that examination (which had compiled past questions 1

years down), I did it for the 2 subjects we were to be having the following day, and this resulted in me having

only 3 hours of sleep, and it wasn’t a straight 3 hours, it was roughly 1 hour rests each.

Day 2

At last when I was done, I ha a last 30 minutes rest and woke up about 7:30 am with the exams scheduled at

9:00am, and talked with God for like 1 hour (it was awesome), then got ready and zoomed to school. I alwaysarrived just in time for the exam. I always did that because it was a waste of time and also success hindrance

coming early for an examination, because you’ll meet friends, talk and talk and when the exams are about to

start you would have exhausted your oil for success. So I would arrive at the exact time for the exam, and it wjust like coming right from your study into the examination hall, no delays and no distraction, an offloading

totally everything you had. And unsurprisingly, my hand couldn’t stop writing whenever I entered the hall,

because the picture and the images of the knowledge I revised upon were most fresh in my memory, and I finiusually before the end of the duration, except for the second paper on this day, which was English, I had to

Page 6: One Night All A's

restart and recopy my past work because of a terrible mistake I had made, but I still wrote with great precision

and accuracy, but due to my earlier restart I had to hold the invigilator extra 1 minutes before submitting my

paper (thank God that she later took it).Immediately I was done, I went home.

LessonNever stop to chat when on a mission, because you might just get a late miscarriage of vision doing this.

Day 2 continued

I repeated the same events I did on Day 1 continued (because I saw it worked). The Next Day, we were to hav

Mathematics (my favourite), as I revised mathematics, its was just all simple, but the one’s I got stuck at I

asked my immediately elder sister to explain, and she did that willingly and brilliantly (most of them that is).But still the same intensity was still there, sometimes, I had to wake up (after the 1 hour rest) and use a candle

or the bright light from our Rechargeable Lamp to read, as the power supply was prone to interruption, these

even made it better.

Lesson

There’s no excuse with a man of vision and passion. When you don’t understand, research, and if your research is limited, ask

Day 3

When I was done with the two subjects I rested for less than 30 mins and I repeated faithfully activities (prayinand getting dressed) which I held in great importance – of course, they are highly important – and arrived I

school right on time, again.

The exams were sort of funny, as the Mathematics questions were sort of a repetition of those I had solvedduring the revision, so there is no stopping on this one, I speedily and accurately (my prayer points) answered

all the questions, from the objectives to the theory. I had enough time to cross-check and to add accessories to

my answers.

These were the activities I partook in during the 5 days of this examination. My final preparatory

activities were all repeated, and so were the results of them. Finally, this was my result

The subject with the C, was kind of the last subject and its was mixed with study and over-excitement on

my part.*
