was put in the band

Zayn Malik Born January 12, 1993 Enjoys reading and English Enjoyed drama and performing Became more interested in music

Was going to try out for The X Factor when he was 15, became too scared

Tried out when he was 17, he made it through and was put in the band

Liam Payne Born August 29, 1993 Loves running

Was on the reserve list for 2012 Olympics

He got bored with running, so he tried music

X Factor Experience Tried out when he was 14 made

it through a couple of rounds, was sent home

Tried out again when he was 16 he made it through and was put in the band

Niall Horan Born September 13, 1993 Only Irish member Music

Musical talent began around age 5

At age 12 began playing the guitar

Harry Styles Born February 1, 1994 Performed in school plays

Star of Barney, a play about a church mouse
