SPRING 2010 ON THE DIAL 2

Dear Relevant Radio Family,

We are approaching the most holy and joyful seasonof the Church calendar: the season of Easter, thecelebration of the Paschal Mystery. We take thistime to reflect on all that Our Lord has done for us,that He died out of love for us to save us from oursins. We must contemplate how we in turn canspread His message and love to all people. Whetherit is with the spoken or written word or a just simplesmile, we must spread the joy that comes from theRisen Christ.

At Relevant Radio, we are able to spread Christ'smessage far and wide, using the most cost-effectivemethod to evangelize as many people as we can,and you are helping us. It is only because of youand God's Mercy, that we are able to spread theGood News of the Risen Lord. Your support, bothprayerful and financial, is doing marvels for so manyand is helping to obtain conversions and increasefaith, of which the effects are infinite! Thank youfor partnership.

On behalf of everyone at Relevant Radio, I wish youa most joyful and Blessed Easter!

3. Make a special Easter meal that has several courses. Nothing makes us feel so important as a formal family meal around the table, using the best dishware you have!

4. If you don't have one already, hang a crucifix in a prominent place in your home and let it remind you of how Christ conquered sin and death by his own death, and that the Resurrection is the happy ending to all suffering!

5. Meditate on heaven everyday, realizing that our daily trials and sufferings will result in our own resurrection and will gain us heaven, our future home!

6. Make every Sunday a mini-Easter as a family by dressing up to go to Mass, having a special meal, and enjoying each other's company. This will strengthen your family and help you truly to become an Easter People year-round!

Prayer Focus: Divine MercyThe Divine Mercy Novena begins Good Friday,April 2, 2010, in preparation for the great Feastof Divine Mercy celebrated on April 11, 2010,the first Sunday after Easter. The Divine MercyNovena was specially dictated by Our LordHimself to Saint Faustina, with a particularintention to be prayed for each day while praying the Chaplet of Divine Mercy.

Powerful graces are granted to those who participate in the Divine Mercy devotion, especially those who receive the Sacrament ofPenance and receive Holy Communion on DivineMercy Sunday. You are highly encouraged totake advantage of these powerful gifts and gracesof mercy that Our Lord is bestowing on us!

For more information on the Divine MercyDevotion, go to http://thedivinemercy.org/

How can we be an Easter People?

John Paul II said, "Do not abandon yourselves todespair" and then quoted St. Augustine, "We arean Easter people, and Alleluia is our song." Inthe Early Church, we were called the "EasterPeople." What does that mean to be an "EasterPeople"? Basically it means that our faith isentirely based on the Paschal Mystery of Christ'sdeath and resurrection. To put it candidly: wereit not for the Resurrection, our faith is useless. But Our Lord did rise and triumph, and our faith isreal! Our Lord, in rising from the dead, showedhis divinity and power over death and sin. It isprecisely because of the Resurrection that GoodFriday receives its glory. That also means that wemust live this Resurrection as we battle our dailytrials, inconveniences, and sufferings, living withhope of our own resurrection in Christ! Being anEaster People means that even if we suffer, weare a joyful people! Let us repeat often: "Do notabandon yourselves to despair. We are an Easterpeople, and Alleluia is our song."

Things we can do to be an Easter People:

1. Attend all the Triduum celebrations (Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter) to immerse yourself in the spirit and meaning of Holy Week and Easter. After all, there is no Easter without Good Friday!

2. Attend Mass on Easter Sunday (or the Vigil Mass the night before) with as many members of your family as possible, and dress up special to make the day feel as important as it is! It's like a wedding day!
