Situation Hardenclough Farm lies just up from Edale Station in the Hope Valley and has access from both Chapel-en-le-Frith and Castleton via the A6187 or alternatively from the centre of Hope up the main Edale road. From Hope travel up Edale and pass the car park for the Moorland Centre on the right. After 300 yards turn left (just passed the sewage treatment works) with the farm lying at the top of the tarmac road (see sign for Hardenclough Farm). Purchasers and sale attendees beware the final half mile of tarmac road to the sale site it single track road and special care will be needed when travelling to and from the sale. From Chapel-en-le-Frith pick up the A6187 towards Castleton. After approximately 4 miles bear left at the Edale sign and continue over the top of the hill into Edale. Follow the lane for approximately 2 miles and travel passed the sign for Upper Booth on the left. Continue for a further ! mile with the tarmac drive for Hardenclough Farm lying on the right (before the car park at the Moorland Centre). ‘To the Sale’ and ‘Car Park’ signs will be erected on the morning of the sale. The genuine dispersal sale at Hardenclough Farm arises as a result of a change in the tenancy with the third generation of the Metcalfe family now taking on the farm. The family have farmed the unit since 1971 originally with Galloway Cattle, Swaledale and Mule Sheep, more recently with higher level stewardship. There is an excellent range of cattle and sheep equipment together with machinery and effects and it should be noted that Mr & Mrs Robin Metcalfe have taken great pride in keeping all the equipment in good order and perusal of the catalogue photographs gives good evidence of the excellent range of equipment for genuine dispersal. Undoubtedly the stars of the show are the Case 4WD tractor together with Manitou Telehandler which have both undertaken very little work and have both been owned from new. Virtually all the main items within the sale have been owned from new and it should be noted that the tractor, telehandler, quad bike and livestock trailers are all serviced regularly. Purchasers should attend and bid with confidence at this excellent early September sale.
