Speaker: Mr. David Kehlet, Intel Corporation, USA
Session Chair: Dr. Salem Abdennadher, Intel Corporation, USA
Summary: Chiplets, semiconductor devices designed for heterogeneous integration using a high bandwidth and low latency die-to-die interface such as the Advanced Interface Bus (AIB), provide opportunities to create advanced SoCs. At the same time chiplets create a need for security measures, higher bandwidth, and protocols. In this Plenary session Dave will describe heterogenous design using chiplet, motivation of disaggregation, security measures, the new AIB 2.0 interface specification, protocols suited for different heterogeneous integration of chiplets, and outline chiplet standards and solutions.

Keynote 2: Miniaturized Intelligent Sensors and Smart Energy Harvesters: Self-Sustained Devices for Bio Applications
Speaker: Prof. Sanket Goel BITS-Pilani, Hyderabad campus, Hyderabad, India
Session Chair: Prof. Beatriz Prieto Simón, University of Tarragona, Spain
Summary: Concurrent with the Industry Revolution 4.0, there is a huge interest to develop miniaturized intelligent
sensors and smart energy harvesters keeping user-experience in terms of accuracy, cost and time in
mind. In this context, for both kinds of devices, our lab utilizes various fabrication methods to create
micro-reactors, detection zones and electronic read-out. Such methods include such as
photolithography, soft-lithography, paper-based, direct laser-writing, 3D printing, ink-jet printing,
screen-printing etc. For integrated detection, different mechanism, such as electrochemical,
chemiluminescence, electrochemiluminescence, high-speed vision, electrical, are being leveraged. To
optimize and enhance the device performance, various novel materials with unique properties, are
used. New approaches, such as off-the-shelf microcontrollers and microprocessors, Internet-of-Things
and Machine Learning are harnessed to create rapidly prototyped, integrated, automated, flexible and
turnkey point-of-care devices. This presentation will cover the recent development and ongoing work
to realize such self-powered miniaturized devices including various biosensors, biofuel cells, solar PV
and supercapacitors.

Keynote 3: Towards Multifunctional VO2 Memristors for Ultrafast Tunable Nano-Optoelectronics
Speaker: Prof. Malik Maaza, Chair UNESCO UNISA ITL-NRF Africa, Chair in Nanosciences & Nanotechnology
South Africa
Session Chair: Prof. Kamel Besbes, CRMN Technopole Sousse, Tunisia
Summary: Within the smart MiT materials family, there is a significant population of Vanadium oxides among
which Vanadium Dioxide (VO2) is of a specific interest from technological viewpoint. Because its
reversible Semiconductor-Metallic phase transition is close to room temperature (68°C) and its
ultrafast time scale wise (120fs), it is gaining interest within the nanocommunity. In its nanoscaled
configuration, this smart oxide is multi-functional. This contribution reports on VO2 nanostructures as
a tunable ultrafast nanoplasmonic & ultrafast optical limiter as well as an effective femtosecond
optoelectronic gating and at last but not least as a smart coating for smart windows.
