LA Ink, Halloween, Missions Update, Thank You, and Much, Much More…

NOVEMBER’S UPDATE: October was interesting. First let me start by saying, Thank You. Many of you sent money in October to help us keep our medical insurance. It was huge! Thank you to all of you who prayed for us and to all of you who gave so generously. It meant a lot to me and my family.

Doing missions style ministry like we are doing is tricky when it comes to money. Story Time. A friend of a pastor I know felt called to do missions in a place he had no passion for and really didn't want to be. He went anyway and determined he would only stay as long as God provided financially for him and his family. He didn't do any fundraising. Each month he hoped money would not show up and he could leave. For seven years, every month enough money came in the mail to provide for him and his family. One month it stopped coming and he went home. I only tell this story to illustrate that finances is one way that missionaries and pastors evaluate if God is in something. It is

not the only way, but it is one way. Last month God showed up big through many of you. Your rescue was a bandaid on a bigger problem. I am going to keep getting into bad situations until more people make a financial commitment to what God is doing in Brentwood. That is just the truth. On average we are getting $2100-$2200 a month in support. That is generous, but it doesn't even cover our rent. The majority of that money is coming from about five families giving crazy amounts of money. If you don't believe in what I am doing or think that God isn't in this, you can ignore this request. But, if you believe God can use me and the Olive Tree Community to influence the influencers of our world for Jesus causing a global kingdom impact, then I need your help. I really can't do this alone. We really are partners. The OTC right now is Viable…I am not. I need more support to stablize financially. I don't expect one of you to turn it

around for us. It will take many people…Many hands make light work. You can make a difference in bringing Jesus to the most untouchable people in the world. I see them, and live with them, I coach their children, I workout with them…we are starting to touch them. You can help because Every Dollar matters. $5, $10, $25, $50, $100, and consistency matters even more than quantity. Sorry for the "Hard Sell", I am just trying to convey the "Hard Truth". God used so many of you to bring us here to communicate the gospel to this area. Thank you. But the Job is not done! Believe me, the moment I can stop asking for money because God has provided through other means will be one of the happiest days of my life. But it is what it is, and I have to do what God has for me do. I committed to go. Will you commit to send with prayer and financial support until the job is done? STOP READING! PRAY Ask God to lead you right now about supporting us. My goal is not to convince you, but to motivate you to seek God on our behalf. If you pray and are open to God's leading, then we are done talking about it. It is now in His hands and your heart.

The Supernatural In October I usually take the opportunity to talk about the Supernatural and this October was no different. I did a series called the Supernatural where we discussed Angels and Demons.

Halloween Our attendance is growing we are averaging in the 30's. Praise God! We are also being invited to many events as Lisa and the kids get more and more involved at the school, and as I get more involved at the community center through coaching. We attended a Halloween Party with a large group of families from the school…It was awesome and created more opportunities to meet new people.

Flag Football

October was also a big month for flag football. Jake plays for the Patriots and I am the Head coach.

I have 4 assistant coaches and two other dads help too. It is Sweet, in our last game of the month we played a team that was 6-6 and we were 3-4 and we went in planning to have fun and play hard like every game and then get our butts kicked. We were teaching the kids how to play defense with some new techniques and it all came together in that game. We beat them 28-7! It was awesome. Every kid ran the ball (Not just the best kids) like I do every game. Jake threw 2 touchdown passes (That

means he threw it 8 feet, but still a throw). This has been awesome for me and Jake and awesome for meeting more families and getting to know the community (Even though we are the Patriots…Boo!).

LA Ink Update

Most of you remember how I was on LA Ink and had a chance to talk about the OTC and what God was doing in my life.

You also remember how they didn't air the episode. Then 6 months later we heard it aired in Australia. Well, last week someone let me know on Facebook that LA Ink has pictures of me up on their website.

OTC MISSIONS

Here is an update from our OTC Missionaries in Israel, and a video link too! :)

Hey Olive Tree Family! We miss you guys soooo much!!! We're way the heck up in the mountains in this little town called Leh. We're at like 12,000 feet elevation!! There's TONS of Israelis here. We've had a really good week interacting with them and sharing our faith through building relationships, and playing our music. Our bigger team left us 2 weeks ago to go back to the states. We'd spent the month before that leading them in different parts of the north. It was really hard saying goodbye to them after going through so much together. So now its just the six of us for the next four months. We have 3 more weeks in India before heading to Nepal, Thailand, Laos, and then southern India before returning to the states in December. Please be praying for our time here in Leh. God has already allowed to become really close with a number of Israelis here, and has opened the doors for us to play our music at the most popular cafe in town (where all the Israelis hang out at every night). Please be praying that god would open and soften the hearts of those we're talking to,

and give us wisdom and boldness in sharing with them. He is so good, and so in control, and He's constantly reminding us of that. Also be praying for our team, we've been missing home and our families a lot this week, but we're determined and committed to His work here. 3 months down, 4 to go haha!! God has also been growing Talia and I a lot. Growing us together as a couple and a team, and also as individuals in Him. He's been challenging us to have faith in Him for things that we might not think possible, and teaching us how to trust eachother better, and trust Him better. OTC FILMS

The OTC has purchased it's first TV quality Camera and Editing software to begin filming videos, dramas, short films, and webisodes. We determined that God has given us a lot of people in the entertainment industry and we are responsible to steward their gifts wisely. We felt God leading us to create media that will encourage and teach believers and or cause the world to consider Jesus as their Messiah. Sweet! We will post them on Facebook, Myspace, Youtube and Godtube. I will send emails so you can check them out. :) YESHUA THE MOSHIACH!

SUPPORT UPDATE PRAY - BELIEVE 2009

In October 09 our support was $2134. PRAY God crushes us financially if that is what He needs to do to cause us to love Him with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength (I have said this a lot, but it is still true!). PRAY God allows us to get into a place that will increase our effectiveness for the kingdom, and lower our rent. We want to steward all of your support and God's resources wisely. PRAY God gets the OTC self sufficient by the end of 2009!

PRAY for my Family too. That God would use the kids in the lives of their friends and at their school. That Lisa will be a light to the parents and in this community! In 2009 PRAY that God lowers our monthly bills and ups our support. Money has kept ministers and churches out of this area for years, but we refuse to let it stand in the way of the gospel. PRAY God provides for us.
