Green Thumb Garden CookiesGardeners get their hands dirty at our drop-in information station crafting garden “cookies” out of clay, compost, and seeds. Mother’s Day Floral DesignCreate an arrangement that Mom, Grandma, or any special lady will be happy to display. Mozart for ChildrenDebbie Surowicz brings her award-winning program to the Festival. Works by Mozart and other composers, carefully selected for their appeal to children, are used as the basis for storytelling, games, movement and song. Growing Up with Vertical GardensVertical Gardening is soaring in popularity among backyard gardeners. Fairy Petal PortraitsFairies are Old Westbury Gardens’ masters of disguise, hiding among the petals of our flower beds. Little artists join a guided walk to search the gardens for different fairy habitats and later bring their visions to life by creating tiny framed portraiture from dried flower petals. All registered children complete their craft with a take home flower press to recreate the magic.Saturday, June 7, NoonFor ages 6–10. Advance registration required. Yoga in the GardensProfessional Kripalu Yoga instructor, Lorili Henry, leads students through a dynamic, yet gentle flow of postures and conscious breathing. Tai ChiTai chi—a unique form of “moving meditation”—calms the mind, relaxes the body and strengthens the spirit. If you have not received your confirmation 14 days prior to your program’s start date, call 516-333-0048 ext. 301.Refunds must be requested in writing and will be issued only if requested at least 14 days prior to the program. A 10% processing fee may be deducted from the refund. No refunds will be issued less than 14 days before the start of the program. Registrations are processed in the order in which they are received.In the event we receive your registration after a program has filled, you will automatically be placed on a waiting list. The Friends of Old Westbury Gardens Spring TripThe Friends of Old Westbury Gardens are planning a trip to the Yale Center for British Art for a private tour that will focus on the landscape artist Richard Wilson. Three Wilson paintings are on display at Westbury House.; two of which require cleaning, which has been underwritten by The Friends.
