Queridos Hermanos y Hermanas,

La búsqueda de la sabiduría y el conocimiento ha sido durante mucho tiempo un esfuerzo supremo del corazón humano. Especialmente a medida que envejecemos, tenemos hambre de comprender verdaderamente la realidad, el corazón humano, la cultura moderna, sus problemas y soluciones. El Antiguo Testamento ofrece consejos increíbles sobre la búsqueda de la sabiduría. The pursuit of wisdom and knowledge has long been a supreme striving of the human heart. Especially as we age, we hunger to truly understand reality, the human heart, modern culture, its problems and solutions. The Old Testament offers amazing tips on the pursuit of wisdom. Using the analogy of a woman who prepares a meal and invites others to dine at her table, wisdom is a gift prepared by God and set before humanity to receive. We don’t produce the truth. We discover and embrace it. We chew on it, take it in like food, and gain strength from it. The Jews had a hard time swallowing Jesus’ truth about the Eucharist. They argued among themselves, trying to figure out this truth instead of simply accepting this revelation as coming from one they could trust—then once accepted, strive to understand the mystery. Once we accept the world, situations, and revelations offered to us, and strive to understand these gifts, then wisdom can become ours. Some fundamental attitudes accompany this changed perspective: First, it is right to humbly accept the world, people, and situations as gifts to appreciate rather than problems to be solved. Second, believe God has wisdom to share. Third, build upon truths already known and revealed, accepting that we can’t “know it all.” God’s hand fashions creation, holds it in his palm, and then offers it to us. We accept it as a gift, embrace it, and discover the wisdom of the hand of God hidden therein.

Registration Forms for the English Religious Ed Program for the 2018-20109 year will be available this week. This is a 2-year Sacrament Preparation program for children preparing to receive the sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Eucharist.

New day and time! Classes will be held at the Parish Center on Thursday evenings from 6:00-7:30 pm beginning September 13, 2018.

• First year students: please provide a copy of child’s baptismal certificate with their registration packet.

• At what age can I enroll my child? Children entering First Grade may be enrolled.

• Fees: $75 - 1st year and $30 - 2nd year (retreat)

• The Parish Office will accept registrations on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 1:00 to 4:00 pm.

Spiritual Adoption Program ~ 5th month

“Mommy felt me kick today!”

Your spiritually adopted baby weighs over one pound now, and his mother can feel his movement. Before this time he was too small for her to feel. Although he swam with ease in his watery world, he needed to be big and strong enough to kick hard against the outside wall and dent it - - the inside wall of the uterus has little feeling. We are mid-way through the pregnancy now. Your prayers have helped your baby’s mother continue with her pregnancy and seek the help she needs.

Su bebé espiritual pesa ahora más de una libra, y su madre puede sentir sus movimientos. Anteriormente era tan pequeño que no podía sentirlo.
