ONLINE LEARNING EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

UT Brownsville has created an eective digital environment or students with the implementation o one o the mosophisticated online platorms in higher education. The university’s online platorm http://myutbtsc.blackboard.com oestudents an online portal with modules and student organization intranet, and a Learning Management System (LM

providing all courses with synchronous and asynchronous communications tools, including Tegrity Online Class VidCapture and Elluminate Desktop Videoconerencing. Additionally, UT Brownsville oers students and aculty a ConteSystem providing e-Portolios and a Virtual Hard Drive. Also, UT Brownsville was the frst institution in the world to acquire tBlackboard Outcomes System, which is utilized to measure and evaluate student learning outcomes based on evidence course, program, and institutional assessment or accreditation purposes. Blackboard Outcomes is also used or deploystudent and aculty surveys, course and program e-Portolios and online course evaluations. UT Brownsville online students receive high quality student services including online student orientation, online tutori24x7, test proctoring, helpdesk, and admission and registration inormation or online courses and programs. UT Brownsvoers yearly over 600 online course sections to 8,878 online students or a total o 34,543 Semester Credit Hours. Uoers 16 online programs: fve master’s degrees, eight bachelor’s and three graduate certifcates.
