Okavango, Botswana
Curiously, landlocked Botswana has a sea the Okavango
Basin; a large inland delta that becomes a seasonally flooded
grassland. Measuring some 720,000 km2 and straddling
neighbouring Angola, Namibia and Zimbabwe, the Basin
has a series of salt pans in its lowest points and the vast
Makgadikgadi Pan (an area roughly the size of Belgium) to its
southeast.
The Basin is spectacularly verdant and teems with wildlife, from
tiny insect to the largest of mammals.
This trip was to Vumbura, on the north west of the basin; a fly
in safari to a tiny camp on the edge of a waterway. In addition
to game of all kinds, we were treated to some spectacular
sunrises, sunsets and even an evening electrical storm, all in a
unique landscape.
Here are some of the images from that trip.
All of the photographs in this booklet are available as high
quality unframed prints, on archival, exhibition grade papers
ranging from A4 to A2 in size.
Print pricing is available on request. Simply email me and Ill
let you have a quotation by return.
Or, if you like one of these images but dont want a print,
chances are you can find a downloadable desktop/wallpaper
version for a tiny sum (PayPal and Cred payment facilities are
being arranged as I write these notes) at my online store.
