Oh, I wish I’d looked after me teeth,And spotted the perils beneath. All the toffees I chewed,And the sweet sticky food,Oh, I wish I’d looked after me teeth.

I wish I’d been that much more willin’When I had more tooth there than fillin’To pass up gobstoppers. From respect to me choppers,And to buy something else with me shillin’.

When I think of the lollies I licked,And the liquorice all sorts I picked,Sherbet dabs, big and little,All that hard peanut brittle,My conscience gets horribly pricked.

Oh I showed them the toothpaste all right,I flashed it about late at night,But up-and brushin’And pokin’ and fussin’

Didn’t seem worth the time –I could bite!If I’d known, I was paving the wayTo cavities, caps and decay,The murder of fillin’sInjections and drillin’s I’d thrown all me sherbet away.

So I lay in the old dentist’s chair, And I gaze up his nose in despair,And his drill it do whine,In these molars of mine.“Two amalgum”, he’ll say," for in there.”

How I laughed at my mother’s false teeth,As they foamed in the waters beneath. But now comes the reckonin’It’s me they are beckonin’Oh, I wish I’d looked after me teeth.

• Long ago as people got older, teeth would rot away and be very painful. To get rid of a toothache, they had their teeth pulled out. Finally, people learned that cleaning their teeth was important, but they didn’t have toothpaste right away. while u’re swishing that minty- fresh paste around your mouth, think about what people used long ago to clean teeth:

• Ground- up chalk or charcoal.• Lemon juice.• ashes.• Tobacco and honey mixed together.

• It was only about 100 years ago that someone finally created a minty cream to clean teeth. Tooth brushing became popular during second world war . The U.S army gave brushes and toothpaste to all soldiers, and they learned to brush twice a day. Today there are plenty of toothbrush choices: lots of colors and flavors to choose from some are made just for kids. People with great looking teeth advertise toothpaste on commercials and in magazines. When you’re choosing a toothpaste, make sure it contains fluoride. Fluoride makes your teeth strong and protects them from cavities.

• It’s not just brushing and flossing that keep your teeth healthy – you also need to be careful about what you eat and drink. Remember, the plaque on your teeth is just waiting for sugar to arrive. Eat lots of fruits and vegetables and drink water instead of soda.

AND DON’T FORGET TO SMILE!!!!!!!.
