Page 11: OFSTED: Parents’ meeting WHAT THE INSPECTORS DIDN’T TELL YOU… OFSTED Inspection 21st-22nd February 2013

Quality of teaching

What the report says…• There is too much variability across school• Work is not at the right level for pupils• Teachers do not check regularly on learning• Marking policy is clear but needed for maths• Opportunities to apply skills are limited• Occasions where work for SEN pupils is too

difficult

We do not agree with this judgement!

Page 12: OFSTED: Parents’ meeting WHAT THE INSPECTORS DIDN’T TELL YOU… OFSTED Inspection 21st-22nd February 2013

strong• Residentials in October – strength of school• Parents and pupils positive about behaviour• Pupils aware of e-safety and cyber-dangers• Attendance is above average

Leadership and management

What the report says…

enough

•The headteacher has focused on developing

relationships in school and the community

•Limited maths skills in Key Stage 2

Page 16: OFSTED: Parents’ meeting WHAT THE INSPECTORS DIDN’T TELL YOU… OFSTED Inspection 21st-22nd February 2013

Leadership and management

What the report says…

•Governors believe progress to be more rapid than it

is because data is not always accurate

•Actions taken have not ensured that teaching and

achievement are good

•Pupils doing less well do not always receive extra

help

We totally disagree with the report!
