MISSION: VISION: Provide dominant intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, electronic attack, and nuclear command and control to national leadership and warfighters, anytime, anyplace. Innovative, resilient leaders delivering information dominance across the full spectrum of conflict. The 55th Wing is the largest wing in Air Combat Command and the second largest in the Air Force. Operating on four continents, the Wing supports six diverse flying missions. The “Fightin’ Fifty-Fifth” provides global reconnaissance, real-time intelligence gathering, command and control, infor- mation warfare, electronic attack, treaty verification and combat support to national leaders and agencies as well as Air Force and joint warfighters. Additionally, the 55th Wing provides Offutt Air Force Base infrastructure supporting 52 associate units including USSTRATCOM, the 557th Weather Wing, 595th Command and Control Group, and the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency CONUS Annex. The Wing is home to the 343d Recruiting Squadron, 20th Intelligence Squadron, Strategic Communications Wing One Detachment, and the Heartland of America Band. The Wing’s support functions include: base mobility, manpower, logistics, aircraft and vehicle maintenance, civil engineering, contracting, personnel administration, and educa- tion, law enforcement, resource security, morale, welfare and recreation, medical and dental care, and local as well as global command, control, and communication capabilities. The Wing performs staff requirements to include: administration, legal services, comptroller, public affairs, history, inspection, plans and programs, ground and flight safety, protocol, inspector general, chaplain services, sexual assault prevention and response, and equal opportunity functions for both military and civilian members.
