A Message from the Regent
Court Holy Rosary #1476 OFFICERS
Mission Statement: Catholic Daughters of the Americas strives to embrace the princi-
ple of faith working through love in the promotion of justice, equal-
ity and the advancement of human rights and human dignity for all.
Dear CDA Sisters,
Summer is right around the corner. School is coming to an end for this
term and all of our children will be out and about and most of us will be
going on vacation. Graduations, reunions and all kinds of other activities.
At this time I would like to thank the good Lord for giving me so many
people that have helped out during my first year in office. Without all of
these talented individuals, I’m not sure that I would have made it. A big
thank you to all of the officers that helped and kept me going throughout
the year. I am looking forward to another good year when we start with
meetings in September.
Don’t forget our salad supper on Tuesday June 4th in the Parish Life
Center at 6:30 P.M. Scholarships will be presented and we will draw for
prizes on our annual raffle. Don’t forget to bring items for our adoptive
family, so they to can have an enjoyable summer.
Yours in Christ, Father’s Day Poem
“Walk a little slower, daddy”, said a little child so small.
“I’m following in your footsteps and I don’t want to fall.
Sometimes your steps are very fast, sometimes they’re
hard to see. So walk a little slower, Daddy, for you are
leading me.
Someday when I’m all grown up, you’re what I want to be;
Then I will have a little child, who’ll want to follow me.
And I would want to lead just right, and know that I was
true; so, walk a little slower, Daddy, for I must follow you”.

What Fruit Will Your Court bear? Excerpts from Share Magazine by Connie Dronette, National Spiritual
Enhancement Chairman
State News
What kind of fruit will your court bear? Will you produce events for your
courts, churches, or communities? Will you produce projects that will help
the needy in your communities? Will you produce spiritual experiences that
will help the women in your Court grow in their relationship with our Lord?
Will you attend your State Convention to learn as much as you can and
bring that knowledge back to your Courts? Will you step out in faith and try
something new? I encourage each court to step out in faith and organize a
project or prayer experience that you have never done before. It is so easy
to “do” the same calendar each year, but is that really how we grow in our
relationship with our Heavenly Father? He is calling you to do something
new, innovative, and yes, a little bit scary. Think of yourself as Peter when
Jesus told him to walk to Him on the water. Can you keep your eyes on Je-
sus and walk on the water. You must get out of the boat first!
Congratulations to our CDA State Officers 2019 - 2021. Pictured L to R are Terrie Vacek, State Secretary,
Rebecca Brown, First Vice-State Regent, Melodie Brunt, State Regent, Fr. Justin Braun, State Chaplain, Carolyn
Ritchey, Second Vice-State Regent, and Virginia Olsovsky, State Treasurer.

Confirmation Reception ~ By Josie Trevino and Norma Locker
On April 24, 2019 CDA Court #1476 hosted the Confirmation reception for 30 candidates.
A full sheet chocolate cake with Bavarian filling was served. The decoration on the cake was a
dove with an olive branch in its beak. Cake, cookies & beverages were also served. The cookies
were donated by CDA members,
while the appetizers were provided
by the parents of the participants.
Lemonade, tea, and coffee were
served.
Assisting in the confirmation reception pictured above L to R are Norma Locker,
Lillie Ann Wigington, Blanche Pater, Pat Pardo, Fr. Orrin Halepeska, Jose Trevino,
Mary Barcak, Irene Becerra-Morales, and Leann Jerkins, Family Life Ministry.
The hall was decorated with the
emblem of the fire made of netting
representing the Holy Spirit, as a
back drop for picture taking. The
tables were covered with red table
cloths.
We would like to thank all mem-
bers who helped decorate and bake
cookies. Your help is very much
appreciated.
